How to get druggies off Opioids/Fentanyl is simple.
They all go 'cold turkey' when the supply is removed.
My 'so-called madness' would accomplish most of that in short order.

Except you forgot the part where gangbangers and armed druggies start raiding hospitals and clinics and the mob starts hijacking drug shipments. Fentanyl and opioids still have legitimate medical uses, in quantity.
That's what law enforcement is supposed to counter and will, at least in the RED states.

It's not the drugs themselves, it's the abuse of the uses. They are indeed wonder drugs for pain. The biggest issue is of illegal manufacture where there is zero quality control. These manufacturers and smugglers are complete idiots, they are killing their cash cows before they become chronic users. With China being concerned, that may be by design. Fentanyl patches (prescribed) are sometimes the only way to alleviate brutal pain like cancers. Those of us with damaged spines, hydrocodone is about the only relief we get.
