TO 8 Florida up 4-2

Snead got out of a bases loaded, no out situation by only giving up one run.

Florida continues to dominate FSU and Miami and it's not even close. Nolies scored 4 runs in 3 games against UF Freshman starting pitchers. Freshman Jackson Kowar who started today struck out 16 in 11 innings in 2 games v. FSU. The Nolies seems to score a lot of runs against ACC competition but not so much against UF. As long as Ole Marty is at FSU the talent gap will get wider and that all time series lead (the only sport FSU leads UF in) will continue to narrow!! Go Gators!

so we lost the series last weekend and still remained at #1? LOL at Miami being #3

UF was #1 in RPI but dropped in all the polls. Miami who lost 2 out of 3 to UF was ranked ahead of UF in all of this week's polls. Makes no sense. What really makes no sense is FSU being ranked so high. One spot behind UF despite having significantly fewer wins and before yesterday having lost 2 to UF.

Congrats to you guys. Your starting pitching is much better than ours.

Certainly the mid week guys are better than fsu mid week guys. Our weekend guys are strong, but our midweek guys may end up being better once they get their chance at the weekends.

Our midweek pitchers, Dunning, Singer and Kowar are all better than FSU's weekend starters. FSU does not have a starter that would crack our top 6. That is how far the talent gap is now.

UGA took two of three from USCe. Florida and South Carolina are tied for the SEC lead @ 11-4 each.

Georgia trotted out their two stud pitchers tonight and took game 1. Need to win the next two for certain. Good news is that it is down hill from here for dawgs on the mound. Puk was sharp tonight.

Great game if you like quality pitching. I thought the double from Georgia that tied the game should have been caught. Vasquez didn't get a good jump on the ball, then turned the wrong way. It hit well inside the fence and bounced over. More importantly, I was discouraged to see how we didn't adjust to the off speed pitches and curve balls, especially from their relief pitcher, and took so many called 3rd strikes. It's almost like they're trained to not swing at anything but fastballs. When pitches start getting their breaking stuff over the plate, don't you have to change your approach? Our guys never did.

Was the game rained out? These guys are never on tv, they finally get a game on SEC Network, and I tune in and it's women's softball.

No, the game just ended so fast because UGA got it shoved up their ass with a complete game shutout.

and UGA couldn't have possibly gotten luckier last night with the bounces and as usual laughable college umpires stretching the zone to the size of a bus. I simply can't watch college baseball every time I try even when our team is the best because of how awful the strike zones STILL are with umpires. The MLB is night and day better in the zones and the product. For 5 innings our batters were swinging at everything because they had to last night with the umpires trying to speed the game up but end up slowing it down and making it last forever because no one can score and then have to play small ball if anyone ever gets on. If those umps were pulling that nonsense in the MLB with those strikes the manager would be thrown out every other inning daily and so would the batters trying to fight them over those strikes a full foot off the plate. College baseball can't possibly not find better umpires just one level down than what I see each and every game I watch.

This was a disconcerting loss.
Not really. The starting pitcher of uga is going to be a first round pick this year. His stuff is as good as anybody in the country. Then the kid that pitch the final 3+ innings will be drafted as well. As mentioned above the ball out in right should have been caught.

We evened it up on a rain delayed game last night.

And yes, the first game loss was disconcerting. We had good enough pitching, enough hits and enough base runners to win that game several different times. Plus, as everyone points out, that botched outfield catch.

Next weekend's series at South Carolina is HUGE and will go a long way towards deciding the SEC champ. After that we've got Tennessee & Vandy at home, then finish the season at LSU. South Carolina finishes up at Kentucky, Texas A&M at home and Bama on the road. Depending on how Carolina does today in the final game of their series with Missouri, we head up there either tied or 1 game behind. Lot of baseball left to play.

We went back to #1 in the Baseball America. Further we have already played the #2,3,4,5 teams going 9-3 against them. We play #6 this weekend in a battle for the top spot in the SEC standings. This is what is commonly know as a tough neighborhood.

USCe had played 14 games against teams in the top 50 RPI. They are 7-7 against that schedule. Florida has played 19 games (out of 42 total games) against teams in the top 50 RPI and have managed a stellar 13-6. Plus, USCe's non-conference SOS is ranked #99.

Florida ace Logan Shore received Co-Pitcher of the Week honors Monday from the SEC.

Shore threw a two-hit, complete-game shutout as the Gators evened their series with Georgia on Friday night, 6-0. He established a Florida school record by claiming his 13th straight victory, breaking a mark that had stood since 1984.

Shore (8-0, 2.14 ERA) faced the minimum of 27 batters and did not allow any Bulldog runners past first base. He retired the side in order in six different innings.

The Gators (36-6), who play at South Carolina this weekend, returned to No. 1 in the weekly D1Baseball.com Top 25 rankings Monday.

We took the first game, nay stole the first game from USCe last night, winning 5-4. We were behind 3-0 early. Schwarz hit an absolute blast to make it 3-2. Rivera did some great base running with one out and motored home from second on a Vasquez center field blooper. We were behind 3-4 in the top of the 9th when two unlikely guys hit two home runs. India hit a solo shot (his second of the year) followed by Horvath (his first of the year) to take a 5-4 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. Anderson got the save.

Great, great come from behind win.

That was the NCAA game of the year to this point. Couldn't have won without Dunning keeping the game close. He hung in early and then really started to plow through a very tough lineup. All of their hits came with 2 strikes. Hopefully, we can close out the series tonight. Can anyone explain why the SEC network is showing Auburn v. Kentucky when the series of the year is happening at USC? I think the Gators have been on ESPN three times all year.
