Biden Crime wave

Neutralize the threat, unlike Biden who doesn't understand why cops can't just shoot people "in the leg".

SMDH

As soon as a criminal pulls a gun it's you or him situation.

Hitting a person at all is a decent feat in an actual gun fight.

People who shoot a 90 to 100 during their qualification will miss with 7 out of 10 bullets in a gun fight (meaning that 90-100 turns into a 30). The idea of shooting someone in the arm or leg, on purpose, is just ridiculous.

The people who say crap like this just aren't serious people and their expertise on the subject comes from television and movies they've watched. It's stunning how stupid people can be at times.

Talking out of my ass here, but:
- Don't you want to hit the main body mass to stop the bullet (or increase the odds)
- Once you pull your sidearm, isn't the main goal to neutralize the threat? Is there a more "neutral" state for a threat than dead?
- If someone brandishes a weapon at you, isn't that a direct threat to your life?

I'd also like to see the Twitter comment bad asses who are saying the "last few shots are murder" to get in that situation and carefully and surgically decide which bullet is the last one. I'm probably freaking out and unloading like that guy did to make sure I'm safe.

You aim for center mass to give yourself the best chance at hitting your target, period. Most rounds with go "through and through" regardless of where you hit them.

I pull my sidearm many, many more times than I use it. To your point, if I fire my weapon I do so to protect human life...either my own or another's. My first job when I arrive on scene is to stop the dying and/or the injuring of people. Sometimes that means you have to neutralize a threat.

BTW, "stop the dying or injuring" is our first goal on every call...be that a car wreck, a robbery, domestic violence, house fire or whatever. An easier way of saying that is that our first job is to preserve human life. But again, sometimes you have to take a human life to preserve the maximum number of human lives.

So stupid.

If you think you're right or if you KNOW you are right, live and fight it in court. There's no way fighting with LE on the side of the road will ever go your way. If you win the fight, you lose. If you lose the fight, you lose...and, ironically, probably lose less than if you win the fight.

It's not a debate. It's not up for conversation. The time for that happens in court. When will people learn that?

There's another point here that you touched on.

If I make the decision that the use of lethal force is justified, how can I justify the attempt to wound? If wounding someone is the appropriate amount of force to be used, why am I using a lethal object like a gun? That's what tasers, pepper spray and an asp are for. Or fists for that matter.

Shooting someone in the arm or leg, on purpose, would actually violate policy and the law because if that's what you decided to do, lethal force was clearly not necessary.

Wow, hadn't thought of it that way.

To me this is one of the most clear examples of a justified shooting. He escalated his force until he had no other choice.

Only thing I'll say is the cop came in a little hot, but driving 100mph is also really dangerous, and cops are people too (I think).

But a dude that size has me in that position and I don't have a gun the best case scenario is I'm getting choked out.

You were raised in a different culture.

Unbelievable ( this thug kid should be put in Juvi and never be allowed on school again. His parents should be charged with assault
