A lot of the parents are victims of the same permissiveness.I don’t know if more is my stance. I have one for protection. And with the amount of firearms that are readily available on after markets, and how many are already in the hands of bad people or bad groups….putting some restriction in place, in my opinion just leaves more people as sitting ducks. My point with my post was, it’s my opinion from being in education and seeing it first hand, there will be more folks with the mindset to commit crimes or do heinous acts. I don’t have hard data to support this stance nationally but the incidents that have occurred in my county have Gone through the roof.
Regarding the kids, I feel it’s parenting moreso than society. The permissive society in our education system is due to horrible federal laws that protect them from being alternatively placed. The days of “you screw up you pay the price” are long gone. Parents believe their kids over adults. It’s a losing proposition and they are learning bad behaviors such as actions don’t have consequences bc mommy or daddy will protect you.
We need to figure out some way to deal with kids who have no intention of participating in the quest for an education. We should have a world class public school system but crappy students are holding everyone else back.
