Doubt Russia would have ever allowed Ukraine to join NATO. My guess is Russia is going to take over that pro-Russia area of Ukraine for the long haul whether other countries object or not. I'm only a simple country doc with little knowledge of foreign affairs. Believe it or not I prefer the Republican stance on foreign policy. But it seems to me Trump rightly pointed out that Putin is smart and has a great plan in place for the invasion. Unfortunately Trump did not clarify that he does not agree with Putin. (If that’s true.). He has every right to criticize the Biden administration but is that helpful for the country? Trump is using the situation further his own agenda whether it divides the country further or not. It shows he cares more about himself and re-election than the good of the country.
