So, you believe there were more defensive gun uses than actual gun crimes? Between 1,600+ and 4,100+ EVERY DAY? We'd be hearing about them all the time, right? Those numbers defy common sense.
Where do those numbers originate? They survey gun owners. What do you think they're going to say?
It'd be like surveying BLM people about how many times they've experienced racism. What do you think they're going to say? You think those totals would be remotely accurate?
Note: I'm not saying there aren't any defensive uses. I know there are. But those numbers are greatly exaggerated for obvious reasons.

Trump knows the CPAC audience is smarter than the average dem/RINO, so he can just make the case that the RINOs are bad, then let the audience decide if they think DeSantis and Haley are aligned with them.

I think the key componet you are missing is that I dont have to excuse my gun ownership to you or anyone else. Its the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs. Where the rubber meets the road "gun nuts" are not going to turn over their firearms peacefully. So whats your next move?
I dont follow any of the statistics. I am probably what you would consider to be a gun nut. I dont own guns because of the statistics. I have a God given right to own them, I ahve a God given right to defend myself, and I have zero faith in the state to protect my family.
I do hear about it all the time. Guess we get our information from different sources.

There's a crime committed a couple times a minute. There's 90 million gun owners. Even using the lowest number, it's completely plausible.
The CDC compiled that report from multiple studies. I very much doubt anyone who claims to be a scientist is going to take a bunch of gun fondlers at their word especially when president Obama was the one wanting the study to use against us.
The CDC is hardly a pro gun institution.

That's very difficult to research. You can find a lot about death and injury by firearms but not much about general gun crime. I think I've seen estimates in the mid hundred thousands before.
