DeSantis is officially DONE

It truly is mind boggling. The lack of self awareness. And because of that, he needed to hire good people around him, and he made awful decisions there.

I have no clue how Pushaw still has a job unless….

Yep she runs the social media and those paid influencers were already calling Trump supporters similar things. "Never back down" is killing them at this point and evidently no one with power on Team DeSantis has decent political sense.

Looks familiar...

Youre right, very sad. His health is sad. The fact that he thinks he needs to hang on to power at this stage of life...even more sad.

The donor class is keeping him in place. He needs to resign and let them have an election for that seat in 2024.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Dem governor will get to pick his replacement. That's why he's hanging on...or why those around him are hanging on.

Agree, he has to resign. This is absurd.

How is this DeSantis' fault?

I'm not defending him, he's clearly becoming a greedy uniparty swamp rat right in front of us, but this isn't coming from state level gov't.
I would start with….

If Desantis doesn’t have authority to do anything, then he probably shouldn’t make any promises he can’t keep.

We are talking about a guy who imposed authoritarian type practices on a business over social opinions. One would assume if he is willing to do that, then he would have no issue with implementation of other types of measures in a state in which he and pubs control legislation.

It’s one school. If schools were doing it all over the state and enforcing vaccine mandates and mask mandates…that’s when the State steps in.

One outlier school doesn’t make DeSantis a liar on this specific issue.

Agree to disagree. The waters are being tested. More will come.

Disney was one business. Yet the State (Desantis) decided to step in.

Desantis has been proven time and again to mislead people on this very issue. Like other Governors. Abbot in Texas for example. He pushed a narrative for months that Florida didn’t shut down, which is patently false.

Is it lying? Maybe not. Has he been forthcoming on how he handled and continues to handle covid?

Nope.

And to your point. What is the threshold you require for intervention? Because there is more than one instance currently. 2 schools? 20? 80? Again, the waters are being tested for further restrections.

Don't get me wrong - I am not defending DeSantis big picture. Just in this one specific instance, moving a football game back 5 days doesn't rise to the level of him not keeping promises.

And I don't know the threshold, it depends on media and public response to further restrictions. Establishment politicians like him respond to public sentiment, not their morals or principles.

It just doesn’t make sense. We The People have brain dead representation everywhere.

Mitch, Joe, Fetterman, Feinstein, Grassley, Watters….

The list is long.
If you consider all are bought and paid for by our enemies, it makes complete sense. If they leave office, then what they bought becomes almost worthless.

The value is in them staying in office. It's a hostage situation, basically.

I'm thinking DeSantis could force them to stick to the schedule of all events if he wanted to. If not, he could at least raise a massive stink about it. Point to the damage done to our kids during previous lockdown, so now the bar to suspend activities is set MUCH higher.

I'm not sure he could force the issue, but he could damn sure threaten to. Is he?

No, but it also doesn't support any statements he made about how he was gonna protect our children, they aren;t going to get away with this again, or anything similar that he may have said.

If he talked like a hardass about how lockdowns impacted our schools, then ignores this, then it's a disconnect IMO.

I guess I have to ask any DeSantis dislikes, who has been a better governor for Florida?
I wouldn’t argue with the point you’re trying to make. That he was better than past Governors. That said, there was and is still a ton of room for improvement.

Being the best asshole still means someone is an asshole. They are just the better of the assholes.

I know I keep beating this drum, but just like Abbott, there were/are way too many decisions that are being made for the Establishments political purposes rather than for the People.

Maybe we never get there with any of these politicians, but we got to keep trying to push things where they need to go, and not just buying into what they do because they are an R.

Yessir. And honestly about a day after I posted that, I read it and went…..WTF am I talking about, it makes perfect sense. For some reason, I just never went back to it.

I do not trust Abbott like I do DeSantis (as governor) If DeSantis was Governor of Texas...the border problem would not be NEAR as bad as it is.
