DeSantis is officially DONE

"I don't like Ron."
(those that don't agree with him on a policy decision)

"I love Ron"
(those that agree with him on a policy decision)

Both are opinions, and both can shift from decision to decision, or from day to day.

Correct. But the poll numbers are factual as is the FACT that running for Potus hurt him politically. It is what it is.

Not a political analyst out there that would say otherwise.

It’s undeniable really.

Running for POTUS did not hurt him. Signing allegiance to the establishment KILLED him. It was not his time and the establishment really put the screws to him. If he would have chosen a different path to run....maybe yes, maybe no it hurts him. Going AGAINST Trump hurt him. If he ran on "I am Trump without all of the hoopla" who knows. I really like the guy, but have less favorable opinion of him after he made such huge blunders. Now I really do not know who he is and what he really stands for.

Agree to disagree. Yes, aligning with the Establishment hurt him, but that was part of him running. They are attached to each other.

The other things that hurt?

1. Being gone from Florida for so long while things were happening in the state. All you have to do is look at the polls and former supporters comments all over social media.

2. People got to see him as a candidate, and quite frankly, it was very unimpressive. He was good on a debate stage, but his awkwardness at events was exposed. Also, Casey should have never been put front and center so often. I am sure she is nice, but she would ramble on for days. It was off putting. He just lacks charisma, which is why they tried to go with Casey so often.

3. The campaign mistakes came early and often. Just one after the other. See: announcing on twitter spaces his potus announcement, as an example.

I have no doubt Ron did some great things during covid. But he has lost a ton of steam, and quite frankly, gone backwards since announcing his run. It is what it is. The numbers support that.

Can he regain momentum? Sure, but I think his days of being a candidate for Potus are over. You can’t fix a charisma and awkwardness problem. See Ben Carson. A guy I think is fantastic, but just doesn’t have IT.

Republicans need to take a page from the dem playbook and stop falling in love with politicians.

Politicians are tools to achieve agenda and policy goals.

When they do what we want, support them. As soon as they don't, dump them. If DeSantis goes back to old DeSantis he deserves support...if he doesn't then drop him.

Don’t disagree. The thing he will have a hard time overcoming at a National level? The charisma part. You either have it, or you don’t. Bush is the only one I can think of that overcame it. And he had a ton of establishment help.

He, his little bobble head high pitched voice when he's trying to put a finer point on things does not come across well at all.

That is fixable if he wants to change though.

Certainly. But what’s probably not fixable is charisma and social awkwardness. As the father of an autist, social awkwardness is very difficult to overcome. Is it fair that people judge on that? Nope. Does it matter that it’s not fair? Also nope, unfortunately.

And as that father, it sucks that’s the case. It makes me empathize with Ron because it’s not fair, but also acknowledge that it’s reality. Unfortunately.

How so...he could have NOT chosen to let them back him...and my guess is that he would have done MUCH better. We were not fooled. If you remember...some on this board still were. I agree with #3...REALLY F'd that up. Again, some of what he did was surprising to me. I thought he was much smarter. As far as him being done...I am not so sure about that. However he WILL have to do a MUCH better job than he did...I agree with that.

This is SO true...remember they are different than we are..it is ALL about agenda. And this is even more proof of this

I don’t think we are in disagreement, just in miscommunication. As a matter of fact….

His run for Potus included alignment with the wrong people. As such, his run for POTUS hurt him.

Sort of like saying That restaurant sucked, and the rebuttal being…

No, the restaurant didn’t suck, just the food they served.

What I am saying, is the restaurant sucked because of the food they served.

Rons run for potus hurt him. For many reasons. One of them being the people he got in bed with (the food).

I think there are other reasons as well, but the food (the people he aligned with) was for sure one of them.

I am just discussing, not arguing. It is a wonderful subject, because he will be around again one day. I really do not disagree with anything you said, just stated that his biggest mistake was which side he chose. All the rest of the stuff was very apparent, and had me scratching my head.

Then you already know what I think of yours then yankee, dontcha.

Errrbody know new jersey is the asshole of New York.
I was born in Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. All Americans are Yankees, ask any foreigner. I'm an All-American having lived in nine states all across this country. You're a close minded blow hard. In any event, Jesus loves us, which is all that matters.

In your own opinion, after you agreeing with the opinions of others.

I voted for Ron twice for Florida Gov.
I'm 90% happy with his actions as FL Gov.
Those are actual facts.

If Trump wasn't running, Ron would be in my Top 2-3 for Pres.
And if he was the Pub nominee, I'd be voting for him.
Those are also actual facts.

It's my opinion
that he was only 'testing the waters' on his run for Pres.
It was to see if he might have a shot at running in 2028.

I'm glad that he dropped out early and gave his support to Trump, after getting a gauge on his own possibilities.... Another fact to end with.

Russ forgot the day in elementary school when the teacher makes statements and asks the kids if it's a fact or an opinion. Emotional interference is not good when trying to think logically.

And I've been drunk, laid, and knocked unconscious in 6 continents. BFD. And I give not a single shit what foreigners think about Americans. Matter of fact I don't care what people from GEORGIA think about anything.

I'm always amused when people follow insult with self righteousness.

Well done.

What self righteous? You prodded me and I responded. Who hasn't been drunk, laid, and knocked unconscious in various places? I've lived in nine states, I've spent a good bit of time in eight countries, I've had lots of traumatic brain injuries, concussions, seizures, broken back, broken ribs, broken nose, broken wrist, some from TBI's, some from fights, some from seizures, some from whatever. I've had brain surgery, brain cancer, brain radiation, brain chemo, the whole nine yards. Lost my mom when she was 46. Lost my brother when he was 20. Lost my mother in law when she was 49. My wife has multiple schlerosis. All of the aforementioned happened by the time I was 38 and I'm 41 now. None of it matters in the grand scheme of things. All that matters is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. We need to focus our minds on Jesus, fill our bodies with the Holy Spirit, and fix our souls to God. Do that and everything else falls into place. That's why I tell people Jesus loves us. None are perfect, all fall short, all need Jesus.

Who were they going to use the 'Deadly Force' against?

Trump is not even at Mar-a-Lago, his winter residence during the FBI's BS raid?

While they ignored Biden's Top Secret illegally stored papers that were stored in his 7 different UNSECURED locations, and the Hillbillery's 35,000 deleted emails with classified information on them? And those are just the 'tip of the iceberg' of their many criminal actions....
