I don’t blame Napier or Golden. I’m fact we have gone way past blaming the coaches IMO. The athletic program has gone backwards with Stricklin in charge. All he knows how to do is fundraise. He doesn’t know how to lead. He doesn’t know how to win. He doesn’t know how to support his coaches. He doesn’t know what it takes to build a championship level football or basketball program.
I don’t blame Napier, because he appears to be working his ass off and seems like a talented guy besides. He inherited a bad situation and hopefully in a year or two we see something resembling a top SEC roster.
It’s just not the coaches. The commitment isn’t there. You could hire Spurrier/Meyer or Billy D tomorrow and they wouldn’t be able to replicate their previous success because of our athletic departments lack of commitment to the the landscape of what is needed to succeed in today’s environment.
I agree. He has significantly upgraded the facilities, which candidly needed to be done 20 years ago. Problem is that now nobody gives a crap about facilities. It's all about NIL and personal player perks. When Deon is recruiting 5 stars to the middle of nowhere crapville Mississippi that tells you all you need to know. We sat behind the facilities proverbial eight ball for years, now I guess we will miss out on the NIL train.
Yes. We are late to adapting to whatever the current landscape is dictating. We were always behind in the facilities race. Now we decide to upgrade the facilities when they aren’t as much of a priority or need as they were before. Now we are upgrading facilities but behind in the NIL race which has now become the most important aspect.

Reeves was a big time recruit with a ton of talent. I won't be surprised at all if he becomes a star at his next school. He just needs a coach who can harness his abilities and give him confidence.

Neither one of Jit or Felder are SEC caliber players. I agree that Reeves has potential to maybe be decent in the right situation but he also needs to learn to play more under controlJitobah and Felder could apply for a COVID waiver and get another year, but if they do they may not stay at UF.

Going to miss Castleton for sure. Hopefully Kugel sticks. The others we thank them for being Gators but they are not SEC caliber guys.
Absolutely love Jit. Great kid and great Gator. He is not SEC caliber player. He could hardly get back on defense. He needs to go somewhere he can find success. Mid major or D2. Golden will need to turn over most of the roster.
