Dan Mullen in his first season beat LSU (whom waxed Georgia), Mississippi State, and Michigan, all ranked teams, and went 10-3 in the process. The top 25 record is idiotic. Nobody with a brain expects MSU to beat Alabama or LSU with any consistency with that type of talent. Meanwhile, Kirby Smart in his first year went 8-5, and lost to Vandy and Jim McElwain. Comparing first years and it's not even close, and Mullen did that without a dual threat QB to run his offense.
