Being coddled in a woke environment that is NYC does not make anyone "street smart". It's like being president of the tallest midget club. Bragg has nothing and he'll clutch his pearls for months on end. At the end of the day, he'll lose the case by either dismissal or appellate findings. Mark it!

I think we just stumbled upon the fundamental difference in our position.

I do care if we're locking up people who didn't commit crimes only because they are political adversaries. I prefer arresting and convicting people of crimes which exist, and usually which have been charged before in American history. As a general rule, I am against political persecutions in America.

That being said, I don't want him in the White House again, either. I think there is a better candidate (in our own backyard as Floridians) who can achieve the policy goals most important to me better than Trump can. Just because I don't want Trump in the White House again doesn't mean dems should have free reign to target and prosecute Trump on novel legal theories. This is purely political and its unprecedented. Anyone saying otherwise is a liar and not worthy of further discourse.

Republicans did exactly what they were expected to do in the midterms: Take the House. Media tried to spin that pub SHOULD easily pick up both the House AND Senate, to try to make the case that pub underperformed when they didn't, and it was Trump's fault.

I see you fell for it.

You don't think Bragg is motivated by politics? He literally ran on convicting Trump of a crime before he even got to office 🤣

They identified their "criminal", and are doing what is necessary to find a crime. That's not how justice in America is supposed to work. They've been looking for 7 years, and all they've come up with is that he allegedly mislabeled documents 6 years ago. And the alleged crime occurred so long ago that the charge is barred by the statute of limitations. There's a lot of words for what they're doing to Trump. Selective prosecution, malicious prosecution, political persecution, and tyranny comes to mind.

There are we we've seen some of them confess. The problem is, and this has alot to do with how the judicial system handles election integrity (after hanging chad issues)...the remedy is so extreme once results are announced that no one wants to be a part of it. That's why, as @GhostOfMatchesMalone points out, it has to be fixed on the front end or our system will collapse.

We also know that $400MM of Zuckerberg money went into these key cities.

Whats the assumption here? That Trump is being targeted politically? I disagree. The WSJ lays out what's going on more succinctly than I can:

As to the rest of your post about other indictments, Trump has only been charged with one crime. I'm not going to speculate on whether I think future crimes of which he has yet to be indicted for are politically motivated or not. The only thing we know right now is that the one crime he has been indicted for thus far is a politically motivated farce.

If he is indicted on other crimes, once I read the indictments, then I'll make a judgment on those charges. Based on the precedent set by Bragg yesterday, they don't have any actual crimes and their motivations for investigating Trump are solely for political purposes. If Fulton County or DC or any other investigations appear otherwise, then I'll change my tune. I have my doubts, though.
