I believe exculpatory evidence is not require to be given to a Grand Jury. Grand juries are not there to determine guilt or innocence. They are not there to review possible defenses or evidence favorable to the defendant. They are only there to determine if the evidence given by the DA is enough to meet the elements of the crime being charged. If so, then the DA can indict.

That is correct. However, in most cases, it's counter-intuitive for the DA not to provide something that's going to destroy his case once it gets beyond the indictment phase.
Oftentimes DA's will use a Grand Jury to kill a weak case rather than giving up on it all together. That way one party can't say, "you didn't even try."
"I did try....the Grand Jury said no."
And, if the its that bad to begin with, a smart DA wouldn't even bring the case to the Grand Jury.
There is no grasping with that Letter. Cohen's attorney states that Cohen made the payments to Stormy with his own $ and never got paid back from Trump. It destroys the case the DA is trying to make.
