Now we're talking about 2 different issues.
Clifford (Daniels) signed an NDA. Trump didn't which was super smart. If he had sure he could have sued her but the damage would have been done. He thought 130k would do the trick.
It didn't. But there's still no legal proof of an affair and no campaign funds were used and while it's sketchy AF it's her word against Cohen's about why he gave her the money. There's no evidence he was going to be compensated by Trump or the campaign.
I think the Manhattan indictment is dead.
If justice prevails, I agree. At the time, Cohen admits he was just being a good foot soldier and acted on his own. As it turns out, he got his hand caught in the cookie jar way too many times that are completely unrelated to Trump, so they skewered him and got him to plea guilty to something that's basically a hand slap to smear Trump. That was the only reason to get an admission and plea on that count. They had enough real stuff to bury him but they wanted to squeeze a faux plea from him to score points against Trump, so they offered him a sweetheart deal on the entire conviction package.
