If we do advance hoping this Oral Roberts team might get hot and start raining some 3s down on Ohio State.
Looking at VT play Castleton will have to play some good defense today as Aluma is pretty good in the paint.

Clumsy game but at least we didn't totally fall apart when we went down double digits. Need to start making our 3s.
That and start blocking out on the defensive boards. That's not something you should have to coach at this level.
Would love to see a coaches clinic w White in which he'd actually have to show game clips of his offense as he is drawing up X’s and O’s.

That WAS Florida basketball under White.
Guy who can't shoot FT's gets the rebound and holds it until somebody runs up and fouls him. Where was the coaching to tell him if he gets the ball to get rid of it?
Guy who can't shoot FT's misses 2 FT's.
Florida doesn't get back on D and gives up easy three. A) If we weren't going to contest a miss why were we on the line at all? and B) why didn't we just foul when they got the ball?

Thought we were going to blow it for a while there. Castleton came up really big this game - maybe his best game yet.
He could stand to put on about 30 pounds of muscle. He'd be a beast.

Looking at the box score, we outrebounded VT 36-22. That's a surprise and was huge. They had 11 assists to 11 turnovers, while we had 9 assists and 18 turnovers. I didn't see Omar Payne in the box score. Was he suspended for his elbow in the Tennessee game? If so, can he play Sunday? Looks like Castleton did have a great game, while Scottie Lewis seemed to have one of his better games. Good win for the Gators. Right now Oral Roberts is giving Ohio State a tough game.
Yep he had his best game yet I think. Coach White needs to spend some time in practice teaching them how to conduct an inbounds pass. Crazy that game even went to OT like that and all the stupid decisions near the end of regulation but I will take the win obviously.
Hopefully Oral Roberts can keep this up and pull a shocker today
Watching that game now. Oral Roberts likes to jack the 3s and they're damned good at it. If OSU prevails, the way to beat them is to pack the paint.
Yep everyone except us Gator fans will be pulling for Oral Roberts. Just looked at the history with 15 seeds after they pull this upset. That Florida Gulf Coast team we beat in the Sweet 16 is the only one to ever advance that far so we need to keep it that way.
My main hope is that ORU is going to party party party after that big win, and be a little flat for us. Also, with only one day to prep instead of a week, they won't be able to craft a game plan against us as good as the one they had for tOSU. Hopefully.
My main concern for us is what White is going to do. What will our plan be? Will we have a plan at all? Or will we just go out and play our normal, scattered game?
I mean, ok, we know ORU likes to shoot the three, will we push the defense out to make them uncomfortable, or sit back and just jump at the shooter? Also we have two 6-11 and one 6-10 guy, while they have nobody taller than 6-8, are we going to post them up for easy baskets and FT attempts, or pass it around the perimeter and jack up threes at the buzzer? I guess we find out Sunday.
We were lucky to get away with the win after pissing away a 99% chance of winning in regulation. Up 3 with the ball and 7 seconds left? And go to overtime? WTF?
I think the main issue is how to deal with that forward of theirs that shoots better than a lot of guards from long range. I think the other part of that scoring duo (the guard) is the top scorer in the country.
Sad how many Titles pre Billy D? Final Fours? Look at what he did this year without the teams best player.
White may get back in good standing again if he advances here but we won the SEC prior to Donovan and went to a Final Four also.
I'd like to know why Duruji, a 54% FT shooter was holding onto the ball rather than passing it to either Mann or Lewis off a rebound.

That was ridiculous as was being unable to inbound the dang ball.
I don’t mean to suffer a win but we shoot 56% to 30 something and out rebound them a ton and we still have sweat an overtime period?
Listening to the call on Westwood 1 while working today. It was rather funny that one of the commentators predicted it being a very close game at the end during the first time out.
But both teams were wretched by the end of regulation. Each side would start doing something and then make dumb mistakes.
I actually had to stop and talk to a client for about 20 minutes with 1:45 left to go, and figured I'd just get an update when the game went final.
surprise surprise when I get back in the truck and we're in over time.

If White gets to the Sweet Sixteen he likely bought himself more time whether you agree with it or not. Regardless of the opponents he beat to possibly get there. I didn’t see Ohio St getting upset like that but that isn’t Mike White’s problem.
My opinion has been he has to get to the Sweet 16 either this year or next year to keep his job. If he gets it this year then more power to him. It doesn’t change my opinion of him as a coach but nonetheless it will buy him more time.
