This proves what I've been saying: DeSantis not addressing rumors about him IS hurting his perception among Republicans. Trump is capitalizing by keeping those rumors top of mind.

A real pollster that has been doing this a long time (not a fake club for growth special) shows the attached to the establishment label Trump put on DeSantis is working. NH was supposed to be his best state out of the 3 early ones.
Question...why would you want a label that Trump attached to DeSantis to work?
To better help you understand my concern, I prefer DeSantis (obviously) but I wouldn't want a label that DeSantis attached to Trump to "work."
To be fair, he didn't say he wanted it to work, just pointed out that it is.
You know my thoughts on this. I think DeSantis is making a big mistake by not addressing these rumors and putting them to bed. His poll numbers have been falling for weeks, reflecting the growing distrust some of his potential voters have over this issue. Course if he really is in bed with the RINOs, then it makes perfect sense why he won't.
I am still open to the idea that DeSantis has had nothing to do with the RINOs. That in his mind he thinks it's best to ignore the situation entirely, because he WOULD like to be President one day, and he is happy to see what happens.
I don't think that's the smart play AT ALL, but I am still open to the idea that this is his thinking.

DeSantis isn’t the enemy and is hated like Trump. The enemy of the people are the RATS, Fakenews media, RINO McConnell and the deep state. They want them both taken out.

Let's assume for a second that DeSantis has had zero talks with RINOs and never would. That this is all bluster and BS from Trump.
I think how this would play out is: Trump and DeSantis (mostly Trump) go at each other in the primaries. Trump ends up beating DeSantis, who finishes the clear second.
As soon as Trump wins, he calls DeSantis and says "Hey Ron, wanna be my VP?"
I always said the smart play for DeSantis was to avoid a 2024 run, and let Trump endorse him to run in 2026. That would give him the full support of both HIS base and Trump's. So he would probably have even more support in 2026 than Trump did in 2020 or will in 2024. I doubt even the dems could cheat him out of office.
But it seems DeSantis wants to test the waters for 2024. Trump is right to be upset about that, since his early endorsement of DeSantis for governor in 2018 very likely catapulted him to the governor's mansion. DeSantis was trailing Gillum by double digits prior to Trump's endorsement.
It is what it is. I think you will see Trump go after DeSantis the same way he went after Cruz, Paul and Rubio in 2016. He seems to get along fine with all of them now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen with DeSantis. Assuming of course that DeSantis is NOT talking to the RINOs.
DeSantis has clearly got the Rep establishment running his possible campaign but its crazy how incompetent they are. The only good thing they did was draw on people's anger that there wasn't a red wave in 2022 as many thought there would be but ever since Trump finally responded to DeSantis surrogates claims it has led to DeSantis getting killed on social media etc. The Bush and Paul Ryan tag is attached for the whole 2024 primary now and the videos being released about Jan 6th are pushing Trump's numbers up also.
DeSantis advisors must be idiots for him not stopping this when FL has a Rep legislature and how most Reps feel about the vaccine now.

Trump would be a fool not to keep feeding it until he has driven DeSantis numbers down enough for him to consider not running until 2028 or to have him severely wounded going into his official campaign if he does run. Trump knows what is going on behind the scenes with DeSantis crooked advisors and big money donors
You can see DeSantis taking the exact opposite path. He is talking about his accomplishments...not getting personal. Trump has PLENTY to talk about concerning his accomplishments...and how piss poor Brandon has done. People that vote PERSONALITY focus on this useless stuff. My guess is DeSantis will be below 20% nationally soon since Trump started dealing with the issue head on. Since Trump upped the attacks DeSantis way he has already dropped from the mid 30s to the mid 20s in recent national polls. Once DeSantis is at around 20% or lower it will mean almost all of Trump's base has returned and that alone is almost too much for any other Rep candidate to overcome even in a 2 way race. If DeSantis has good political sense he will realize that soon and start thinking long term about 2028 and getting back on the good side of the most hardcore Trump supporters because if he doesn't he is finished unless Trump loses in 2024.
Just so that you know...I FIRST want Trump...but would take DeSantis. I am not buying all the BS being put out about him. I STILL think Trump can and will do a better job..he has shown EVERYONE what he can do already. But I 100% disagree with attacking DeSantis...BOTH of them should be attacking the idiot in charge, his son, his corruptness, his Fing EVERYTHING he touches up, etc
I'm no fan of Jack's, but this is a very valid point. Trump is the only 2024 Republican contender who has said anything about the Jan6 detainees after Tucker's expose.
