March Madness

Chiozza might have made two game winning plays right there, chasing that loose ball down and driving for free throws when everyone else was standing around.

On to the round of 32. Hill does need to clean his play up. He gets out of control at times and sloppy as heck.

this will last another ten minutes watching them hit prayer threes and extend the game, we keep hitting FT's it won't matter...

omg when was the last time we hit 8 free throws in a row spread out through 4 guys?

Great win, 80 points and we just beat a very good team that can score... I can breathe now

Congrats to Mike White on is first NCAA-T win

Thank God we don't have to have that White can't win in March lingering after the last 3 games to close out the season and start March... We didn't even play near our best and scored 80 and held them to about 20 less than their average... Great win

Nice recovery from that bad first half.

It wasn't necessarily a bad half, we just missed a lot of open looks like the last few games and more lay ups, free throws with a 1 and 1, the usual stuff we do to start out 2nd halves... With the way the game was going and how we were getting to the line and making them take much tougher shots to score than we were I was never really worried but this is the Tournament and March, so I knew we would have to do something to not let them linger around in the 2nd half... The defense was very good but we gave up too many offensive boards for put backs, which we do a lot...

We still have too many mishaps from the bigs catching and holding onto a basketball, i don't see any other teams as bad as we are with that problem all the way around all on our roster... It's so damn frustrating, but we got to the basket and had much easier looks than they did that's why we won, and our defense was very good and had a lot of run outs from turnovers... Might have ended up with 22 plus points from turning them over, I know at about the 4 minute mark we were up 18-4 from turnover points...

F*** vandy, got what they deserved for the SEC making sure they got in against us in free throw land on Senior day. All for nothing like i said weeks ago, and they did it choking with the foul lol... Should have never been in with 15 losses anyway, bye bye senior day heroes...

Is Minnesota's loss even an upset. I think they were only a 1 point favorite because they were the 5 seed.

I feel absolutely heartbroken for the young man from Vandy. I hate the Dores with a passion but I wouldn't wish that mistake on anyone.

My wife said "He's gonna need a hug from mama." I would agree.

SEC always pushes to get that one more team in the tourney. Our problem is that only us and Kentucky normally have the stature that a win over us makes a difference, and the SEC would NEVER do a hose job on Kentucky, so guess who gets abused by the refs every year for the Vandys of the world.

It's interesting how often we stumble into the tourney and the minute we get away from the SEC refs we start playing much better.

We are actually the true result of what UK fans cry about, they are in for a rude awakening if they think SEC refs are bad for them shooting 40 FT's a game... We are allowed to play our aggressive style WHILE actually being allowed to get to the line on the other end too... no coincidence it ends up a blowout because of it.

We have been screwed at least twice by the SEC making sure they got another SEC team in... Ole Miss i watched live and up close in person from a box suite in 2014 for the SEC tournament final, watched them EVAPORATE a 16 point lead all in 20 minutes of play in the 2nd half... It's pathetic

Like i said, zero coincidence when we are actually allowed to play our brand for once what the results are in the tournament...

Difference in the second half was we got pissed off and played defense. We've been feeling sorry for ourselves on defense since Egbunu got hurt. Nice win Gators and coach White. Definitely have our hands full in Game 2. We need a couple guys to get hot from 3. Hopefully d Rob and Barry keep it going.

Watching the game again, D Rob had 8 in the first 4 minutes and 3 of them were thunderous dunks... he was killing them, when he goes to the basket i really don't understand how he doesn't just flat out jump over and through people more often when he makes his mind up... if you are late to the spot it's over with and he jumps to the top of the backboard

We also were the only other team not a one seed to blow out our opponent by the most with 15... other than Arizona by like 22 and got to 100... the team i picked to cut the nets down

We actually had one of the most impressive victories of all the Thursday games.

I thought it was hilarious. Vandy didn't deserve to be in the tournament to begin with and I love the way they lost. Serves them right. Maybe a little karma at work for those who believe in such things.

No no no...you didn't watch the game...literally one offensive scorer until half...marginal play from Hill...and Chiozza saved the day.

If two of Hayes, Allen, or Barry don't start knocking down shots in Saturday, there is no way we'll win.

That said, it was fun.

NO BEER OR ALCOHOL SOLD IN AMWAY...so beware on Saturday night folks.

One scorer in the first half? Robinson scored 10, Hill scored 9.

14-6-5, 2 steals and 5-8 from the field is marginal? Right-O.

Hayes was good. We'll take 7 and 7 from him all tournament long. He also had two huge defensive plays at the top of the key and turned them both into dunks.

I thought Barry looked a lot better than he did late in the season. He was active, got to the line a couple times and got himself some good shots, he just didn't knock them down.

Chiozza was very good. Along with d-rob, who looked like a lottery pick, Chiozza and Hill were our best offensive players.

We won the game though, because we started playing defense.

If we defend like that on Saturday, we'll have a good shot at UVA. They are very tough, but I don't think they're going to run away from us on the scoreboard. Hopefully Allen doesn't pull that act again.

The Vandy play was crazy. I don't think I've ever seen that before. That kid is a good player and was a big part of the comeback. Then their last possession was terrible. LaChance sat there dribbling for seven seconds and then heaved a 30-footer.

Hmmm yes I was at the game for one and for two did you watch any of the other NCAA tournament games yesterday? Most of these games are going to be close.

UF had one of the most impressive victories of the Thursday games.

I agree. I think it was impressive. That team had some talent, they won 27 games and Bilas said they were an upset alert. And they were really playing with confidence. That's a tough spot for a team to know you're in a dogfight and know that if you lose you're going to be a national headline as a victim of March Madness. But they kept it together and decided to win with defense and did it pulling away.

The UVA game to me is a toss up. They might even be favored by a couple points. Hill is going to have to be very smart and not try to force action, because it's very tough to run on UVA. They held UNC to like 43 points a few weeks ago. I think he's been playing smarter ball in the last two games. He's making simpler passes. There was a spot in the second half where he had a wide open three and he dished it to Chiozza who hit it. He needs to keep that coming.

We are favored against Virginia but I agree it is going to be a toss up.

At the very worst, we have gotten past the "embarrassment" part of the tourney. If we lose to UVa, well, it's Virginia, a 5 seed from the ACC. A 4-5 matchup is basically even. All games after that will also be against legitimate power conference teams.

UVa will be without their all-ACC forward. Mononucleosis. Should tilt the contest completely to UF.

Florida openend as a 2 point favorite. That has dropped to 1.5. The O/U is interesting. Only 126. I guess they saw our games against Vandy, which plays a similar style as Virginia. I do not think UVA has quite the three point shooters though. But they do defend well and play a slow style of half court offense and defense.

I would like to see White play with more tempo than we did against Vandy. That might include the press a bit more.

Florida is 1-1 all-time vs. Virginia, with Florida’s win coming in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
