Gators to Hire Ron Roberts as LB Coach, Co-Defensive Coordinator ?

Good riddance to Simmons as his family was garbage coming out lying about the reclass just a few days ago. Lagway is the future so no worries about playing time for either.

From what I read, his mother wanted him at UF. Not sure if this is true but supposedly the UF administration tried to block Simmons early admission. With that said, let Ole Piss deal with this drama now.

Actually, I heard that Max has been invited to join MENSA.
😂

Naw CG1, it's feelings that matter, not the smarts, and certainly not their 'on the field' stats. 🙄

Everyone FEELS like Mertz is the man for 23.
Everyone FEELS like Lagway is a star QB for 24.

Nobody but a couple of us dummies feels like Brown can play a lick.

So throw out their actual performance and just go with those all important FEELINGS.... 😉

Florida QB Commit Austin Simmons Flips to Ole Miss, Reclassifies to 2023

Quarterback Austin Simmons has flipped his commitment from Florida to Ole Miss and will join the Rebels for the 2023 season in an unprecedented move.

Not unexpected.

At least he had the courtesy to tell CBN in private shortly after his visit to Ole Miss.

Lane Kiffin trolls Florida over Tom Petty tradition after Ole Miss flips QB commit

Perhaps Simmons can coach Kiffin up a Bit with regard to Courtesy & Civility. LOL

Wonder if Kiffin will be there when Simmons enrolls ?

Elite 11 Finals: Florida QB Commit DJ Lagway Named Among Nation's Finest

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. -- Class of 2024 Florida commitment and Willis (Texas) High quarterback DJ Lagway earned a spot among the nation's finest on Saturday, as he was officially named to the 2023 Elite 11 following the competition's three-day finals event near Los Angeles.

Lagway continued to turn heads during the pro day competition on Thursday. In a scripted throwing session, Lagway was SI-FanNation's fifth-highest-graded passer in the outlet's own grading system, with a 48.5-mark out of 60 possible points.

I haven't heard anyone who thinks Mertz is going to be worth a crap. We shall see what happens come fall practice.

When will On3 be held accountable for leaking false reports?

By Will Thomas

On3 trying to compete with Rivals, 247, & ESPN. No chance against ESPN & after all their screwups, not looking too good in comparison to Rivals & 247.

"...The Florida Gators, specifically the football program, have been burned by On3 twice in the past few months when they’ve either leaked information early or released fully false reports about Gators’ recruits.

A few months ago it was Jaden Rashada, and they reported that he was asking for a release of his scholarship before that news was official. It made the whole situation a wreck and left a bad image of Billy Napier and the Gators.

Now, we see it all happening again, but perhaps it’s even worse.

On3 reported that Gators 2025 commit Austin Simmons would be reclassifying to 2023 and joining the Gators over the summer. As a fan site without insider intel and direct sources, when I see an On3 report, that’s generally how I get breaking news to write about here.

So naturally, I wrote a piece about Simmons’ reclassification and what that meant for the Gators, and it took off.

Then all of a sudden we hear that Simmons’ family is disputing the claim that he’s reclassifying, and today we find out that he flipped to Ole Miss and will reclassify to 2023, just days after one of the biggest media outlets in college sports said otherwise."

Simmons to Ole Miss for 2023

Well - on a positive note -
1 less QB for CBN & Staff to Coach up & get ready to play.

Insta,

What are the odds that they try to work with Max Brown, put in a running package, & get him ready to play ? LOL

What is mind boggling to me about Simmons is he didn't go to UF who has virtually no good quarterbacks to go to Ole Miss who has like 3 lol like what are you doing? Also, the Gators just had a Qab selected in the top 5. It makes no sense

It was Josh Newberg who did this lol I'm not surprised, he's an idiot.

However, I doubt that has any impact on a recruit.

Unbelievable... We got the rest of the SEC all calling Napier Sunbelt Billy now after this. Well Napier can either get them to get him a good portal QB for 2024 or he might be packing his bags after that season. With that schedule with a Mertz level QB or a true freshman you would probably be looking at another mediocre 6-6/7-5 season despite improvement in the rest of the team.

Money is probably involved some and he probably sold him on taking over possibly in 2024.

Paco,

Assume we are looking at him to fill out & play TE.

CBN has stated repeatedly that he would like to run 40% (?) of his offensive plays from a two TE set.

This could be a start.

A long way to go before ESD, but FWIW

Florida Gators climb seven spots in rankings following TE Amir Jackson's commitment

https://www.on3.com/teams/florida-g...nkings-following-te-amir-jacksons-commitment/
Jeff, CBN's TE offense was so dramatic in 2022 that the Roster TE with the best receiver potential bolted to the portal and is now with the Lamecocks....

QB Trask and HC/OC Mullen played a huge part in creating 1/4 NFL draft pick, TE Pitts.
2018 #5 TE Kyle Pitts 6-5.5 235 **** Natl 162
IMO, the use, or a lack thereof, of the TE's in 2022 was a poor joke on the offense....
=====

#8 Ath Amir Jackson 6-4 223 **** Natl 108 (Likely 2024 TE/WR)
>>> Claims that they needed a 2024 'receiving' TE made me LOL.
=====

2022 #27 OT/TE Tony Livingston 6-4 260 **** Natl 338 - Grayshirted to 2023
2022 #31 Ath/TE Arlis Boardingham 6-4 220 *** Natl 488
2022 #110 TE Hayden Hansen 6-5 250 *** Natl NA

2021 #12 TE Gage Wilcox 6-4 228 **** Natl 332 (career ending injury)
2021 #18 TE Nick Elksnis 6-6 220 *** Natl 431 (look & size of K.Pitts, portal out to USCe)
2021 #113 LS/TE Rocco Underwood 6-4 220 *** Natl NA

2020 #32 TE Jonathan Odom 6-5 250 *** Natl 769 (legacy, Jason)

2019 #2 TE Keon Zipperer 6-2 240 **** Natl 105

2018 #1 TE Lucas Krull 6-7 255 **** Natl #3 - JuCo xfer
2018 #5 TE Kyle Pitts 6-5.5 235 **** Natl 162
2018 #29 TE Dante Zanders 6-5 220 *** Natl 636
==========

2023 Current Roster TE's, with O&B Ht/Wt:

Dante Zanders 6-5 241 rsSr
Keon Zipperer 6-1 250 Sr
Jonathan Odom 6-5 244 Jr
-----
Hayden Hansen 6-6 259 rsFr
Andrew SavaLinaea 6-3 275 rsFr
Arlis Boardingham 6-3 246 rsFr
Scott Isacks III 6-4 250 rsFr - PWO 2022
Tony Livingston 6-5 240 Fr - 2022, but Grayshirted to 2023

I don't have inside info on that but I have heard people say our money people are reluctant to give a lot initially to unproven high school recruits.

I don't like the situation. It appears we have a lot of very wealthy alumni that are more on the nerdy side than the ones at UF years ago and they don't love football enough to compete with the upper teams in the SEC when it comes to NIL. Even Lagway could become a late defection if they don't step up some. Also you damn sure can't be skimping on portal NIL if you aren't going to match the upper teams with high school recruits.

His dad claims UF schedule was too hard. I'm really trying my best to defend this kid.

GD3,

Obviously, academics at Ole Miss diluted enough - he will have Nothing to worry about
BUT
All this from a player who, supposedly, has already graduated from HS & is taking college courses ?
WTF ?

Well, moving on.

Say a Prayer to the Great Gator in the Swamp, that Lagway makes it to G'ville !

IF NOT

MAX BROWN here & ready to play !

PS
Still don't understood how a HS Soph got a committable offer
