Fever,Anyone know what is going on with Ethan White? He is close to the point where he won't be able to make spring practice somewhere if not signed this week.
Fever,
NEVER understood him going into the transfer portal.
His Mom was so excited by all Ethan accomplished at UF.
Ethan not as good as O’Cyrus Torrence, BUT a steady player that would help solidify our OLine for next season.
Hoping they work something out (find him some additional NIL$$$) & he returns to Gators.
Fever,My guess would be our offer remains the same. People are claiming Tarquin got a nice deal from USC but he is supposedly dating the daughter of someone connected to those USC funders.
TOS is saying Tarquin knocked up Tony Boselli's daughter then married her, which probably explains why he's headed USC.My guess would be our offer remains the same. Who's gonna want to put up with RaDrama now? Please, no more Kalifornia quarterbacks.

Another way to look at is what kid is going to want to sign an NIL deal with UF knowing they may renege on their commitment? Not a good look for Florida and it will be a major negative recruiting tool used against Florida when it comes to big time recruits considering NIL deals.Who's gonna want to put up with RaDrama now? Take the $13M and give it to a dozen or so appreciative kids.I doubt his mess affects us too much it will just be what our big money people are willing to shell out which we are lacking on compared to the top recruiting schools.
It’s possible but at the same time we haven’t had any NIL issues with any of the current players, High School prospects or portal players. This could just be a “one off” type of deal. The Rashada side of this deal isn’t without blame either. This wasn’t just a UF issue.Another way to look at is what kid is going to want to sign an NIL deal with UF knowing they may renege on their commitment? Understand what you're saying. But it's perception that matter more than reality and it will be used as a negative recruiting tool in the future. I've already seen it on other sites outside of the Gator bubble. Ocala,
Florida Football: Greg McElory’s view of fans is shortsighted but not wrong
This article forced me to look in the mirror -
Damn ! I hate that.
“The team that I’m most concerned about, right now, in the SEC, are the Florida Gators. I think they’re going to be better this upcoming year than they were this past year. The problem is, a lot of their fanbase thinks it’s the Spurrier era, and if they’re not going out winning 10 games and winning every game by 40, then Billy Napier is doing a piss-poor job.”

To me McElory's always had a bias against Florida, but in this case I don't think he's wrong.Florida Football: Greg McElory’s view of fans is shortsighted but not wrong

Brian Kelly’s Transfer Portal Message:
“They have got to be the right fit first,” Kelly said. “They have to recognize the value of an education from LSU. They have to have the right traits. We are not just open for business. We’re not just putting a sign up saying, hey, we are going to take whoever. They have to be the right fit. I prefer that they are from the state of Louisiana if we can find them. And then we are going to address needs based upon how that freshman class marries into it by the particular needs by position class.
“So we are not going to overload a particular position group. In other words, if we have got three or four wide receivers that are freshmen coming in, you may not see a heavy influence in the portal in that position.
“We are going to develop based upon our freshman class, too. So we are doing this at the same time, and also allowing our program to be younger, too. We want to bring both of these along. We don’t always want to be a turn-it-over program where we are bringing in transfers and turning the program over.”

Right now, I'd take Stokes.Should Napier keep looking to supplement Mertz?
Mertz’s stats are not pretty, His film is a little bit better as there are signs he can make reads and deliver an on-time ball to his receivers. Mertz was ailed at Wisconsin by an abysmal offensive line, a wide receiver corps that dropped everything, and a coaching staff that refused to make things easier by running play-action.
It seemed like Mertz was only picked up by Napier to be a veteran presence while Rashada developed. He was never meant to be the guy to take the reigns for an entire season.
Fever, you called it !
If Napier had full confidence in Mertz to lead Florida football, he wouldn’t have been in Louisiana this week trying to pick up LSU transfer Walker Howard.
So now what?
At this point, Napier must decide whether to keep searching or whether to let Mertz and Jack Miller battle it out. If this was NCAA 14, you keep searching because who cares what emotions robots have?
In real life, it’s more complicated because you would be telling both Miller and Mertz “Hey, thanks for coming here. We don’t really want you but maybe will do.”
Napier - 3 Options at Transfer QB
If Napier were to keep searching, he has three options at this point:
Spencer Sanders – When Sanders declared for the portal, Florida football was a betting favorite to land the Oklahoma State QB. Most recently it was believed Auburn would be his new home.
When healthy, Sanders is an accurate QB with a lot of attributes Gator fans will like. He was hurt last season and his accuracy dropped below 60%.
Sam Huard – One of the top-rated QBs in the class of 2021, Huard never saw much of the field with Washington during his two years in Seattle. He’s a west coast guy and Napier is probably never going to take a west coast guy ever again after Rashada.
Marcus Stokes – The four-star QB is currently the only QB ranked in the top 50 by 247 Sports that is still uncommitted. Stokes of course was committed to Florida football but was released after a controversial video of him surfaced in November.
I mentioned him recently; as I stated - we have only screwed him over twice; we deserve another shot.
He worked hard at recruiting also.
Truthfully, he was probably dropped because it came shortly after Rashada committed and Napier was able to use the video as an excuse to get away from Stokes and (not) have to take two QBs.
At last - someone else says it !

Was that an overreaction when they revoked his scholarship?Right now, I'd take Stokes.
