Gators to Hire Ron Roberts as LB Coach, Co-Defensive Coordinator ?

Gators DB Kamar Wilcoxson to Enter Transfer Portal

https://florida.forums.rivals.com/threads/kamar-wilcoxson.118380/

Third-year Florida Gators defensive back Kamar Wilcoxson will enter the transfer portal following the 2022 season
https://www.si.com/college/florida/football/florida-gators-kamar-wilcoxson-to-enter-transfer-portal

Now, he’s decided to move on from the program after appearing in just one game under Billy Napier through the first nine weeks of the season. He’ll have to wait until Dec. 5 to officially enter his name into the portal, but the decision appears to be final considering the statement he put out on social media.

Wilcoxson is the third Gator to leave the team so far this year following the departures of Cox and offensive lineman Josh Braun. Cox is headed to the NFL, but the other two will test out the transfer portal. Billy Napier has talked about the transfer portal a lot since taking over at Florida and has maintained that the team will be more active as the roster slims down due to attrition.

This info would be valuable in the thread I started about Kamar yesterday.

DL Target Jordan Hall Releases Top 5 Containing Florida Gators

We need another quality DT !

As I have good reason to know, Jacksonville is just up the road from G'ville.

Hoping that Napier can work his magic on another Florida prospect.

Westside High School (Jacksonville, Fla.) defensive tackle prospect Jordan Hall trims his list of collegiate options to five, including Florida.

Westside High School prospect Jordan Hall announced his top five schools on Friday evening, including the Gators alongside Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and LSU.

Hall eliminated FSU, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, South Carolina and USC from contention by cutting his list from 10 to five. He added Alabama in the process.

While Hall is currently considered to be trending away from the Gators, Hall continues to be a priory target for Florida’s staff due to the necessity for capable players on the interior defensive line moving forward.

The position is one the Gators have attempted to address this recruitment cycle, but are still searching for early contributors on the interior trenches. There is no limits for Florida at the spot, similar to the influx of talent they’re bringing in at wideout and cornerback.

However, despite holding commitments from Kelby Collins, Kamran James and Will Norman on the inside, the spot’s lack of depth is still far from being considered fixed.

Osceola prospect John Walker and Suwannee, Ga., tackle Kayden McDonald have pledged elsewhere at this stage — UCF and Ohio State respectively— leaving Hall as one of Florida’s final uncommitted options to bolster Sean Spencer’s position group this cycle.

Florida remains firmly on Walker, specifically, as a potential flip option. He’s visited Gainesville on multiple occasions this season alongside high school teammate and Gators DB commit Ja’Keem Jackson.

Hall is expected to make his commitment decision in the late portion of this class as he continues to weigh his option thoroughly.

The Gators will continue their full-court press of the Duval talent until pen hits paper in his recruitment.

Hall's most likely Georgia bound.

Hall's most likely Georgia bound.
Country,

Knew that the Gators were not #1 on his list but couldn't remember if it was UGA or Bama on top.

The way he added Bama to his list made me think they were the CURRENT favorite.

As we all know the mind of an 18 yr old is subject to change.

Doubt that Hall commits before ESD or perhaps waits until NSD.

Florida has long been in the running to receive one of Hall's five official visits, two of which had already been set aside for Alabama and Ohio State. The program's inclusion in his top-five is a strong indicator that Hall will officially visit the school, which he has said he would like to do in December.

EDIT

Elite DL Jordan Hall includes Gators in final five, will officially visit

Representing Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside, the 6-foot-3.5, 310-pound Hall is down to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Ohio State. He has already officially visited the Crimson Tide and is traveling up to Ohio State and LSU later this month.

The Gators and Bulldogs are expected to receive OVs in December, with Kirby Smart’s program also receiving unofficial visit on Saturday.

Bama is a johnny come lately, but Saban hasn't been to Westside to visit him. Strong GA lean with Gators 2nd at the moment.

QB Hank Bachmeier – Boise State - Enters Portal

Bachmeier had a successful career at Boise State, which immediately makes him an intriguing addition to any school.

Having passed for 6,605 yards and 41 touchdowns, while leading the Broncos to a 19-9 record as a starter, he will provide invaluable experience to his new school.

Everything has been rather quiet with Bachmeier, but Virginia was first to the chase and continues to pursue. Other schools who are still involved include Buffalo, Houston, UConn, Hawaii, Pittsburgh, James Madison, Bowling Green, Marshall, Georgia Southern, Nevada and New Mexico State.

Don't know if our Portal Guy - BIRD SHERRILL - Director of College Personnel has looked at Bachmeier or if he just
doesn't like drop back passers. LOL

UVA may just have had a personal in with him.

Well he does know how to beat FSU.

Stake is back

Gators hosting top-ranked OL from class of 2024 for South Carolina game

Four-star Woodland (Dorchester, South Carolina) offensive tackle Kam Pringle is no stranger to the University of Florida. Dan Mullen‘s staff quickly identified him as a priority target in the recruiting class of 2024, and Billy Napier‘s staff is picking up right where that last group left off.

At 6-foot-7-inches and 330 pounds, Pringle has the right size to succeed in the SEC, and his cousin, Jawaan Taylor, started as a freshman for the Gators in 2016. Growing up, Pringle dreamt about playing for Florida, and now that option is on the table.

Rashada a huge get; but I hope Marcus Stokes wins the QB competition.

He committed to the Gators when things looked dark for us at QB & came to G'ville for every big recruiting event to help recruit other players.

EDIT
This season Rashada is 148-231 passing with 2,122 yards through the air and he has thrown 25 touchdowns while only throwing eight interceptions. The quarterback has also added 247 yards on the ground and another three touchdowns.

Rashada's Flip pushed Gators to #7 in Rivals' Team Rankings - jumping Miami (Duh !) & Clemson.

4 SEC teams in Rivals top 7
2 of the 3 teams ahead of us are annual opponents - LSU & UGA.

The top rated team in Rivals - Bama - I would like to again make an annual opponent - in the SECCG !

FSU OT Commit Visiting Florida Gators vs. South Carolina

Can the Florida Gators flip the commitment of another high-caliber offensive lineman from their in-state rival?

That’s why, despite his commitment to UF’s arch-rival Florida State Seminoles, Florida will host Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International 2023 offensive tackle Lucas Simmons this weekend when the Gators take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.

Simmons confirmed the upcoming visit with Sports Illustrated’s John Garcia, Jr. on Thursday evening. He intends to not only attend this game, but also the Gators’ road matchup with the Seminoles on November 25, maintaining his pledge to FSU but taking his final opportunities to observe UF and perhaps other programs before December’s signing period.

I don’t think Stokes will end up at UF.

Paco,

See & understand your point - but I am worried about how firmly committed Rashada is.

Understanding the mind / emotions of an 18 year old - IMPOSSIBLE !

NIL$$$ seemed to influence Rashada once - it could happen again.

If he flips again just before ESD & Marcus has moved on - we are SCREWED - especially when/if AR goes NFL.

No way to predict how this will play out; all we can do is trust Billy to work things out.

Winning a few more ball games wouldn't hurt either - especially the one in Doak Campbell which is looking tougher with every game that goes by.

Paco - your thoughts on AR returning next year ?

With that NIL deal he received recently, I like our chances of AR returning.

Great pickup. Is that Miami billionaire offering millions without it being truly guaranteed? Just curious how this switch went down.

I don’t think AR will be here next year

Speaking of millions, as much as I wanted McClain, let him stick with 6-7 loss seasons after saying he had $5 million reasons for committing to scUM.
I think fans make too much out of wins/loses on the fiedl and it's coorelation to recruiting. Imo recruiters - recruit for the most part.

That mentioned, UM this year may be the exception. I mean - they are losing to Duke and it's hard to watch - like - really bad. They may drop a few and or not land a few - it's that bad.
