It is crazy isn't it. Especially when Trump was fed a lie and ran with it. DeSantis will be my governor for FOUR more years and has no reason to challenge Trump. He has a big unfinished job here.
He is the governor of 22 million Floridians. He is young, he has small children, he is on the verge of running every Democrat out of statewide elected offices. When he is finished they will be contained in a little corner down in the Southeast with the Northeast transplants. And a few over in Orlando or up in Gainesville and Tallahassee. The rest of us will be FREE of Democrat influence.

There is no evidence Ron DeSantis "met with Ryan" or anyone else to challenge Trump in 2024. Ryan mentioned DeSantis along with 3 or 4 others. DeSantis had nothing to do with it. He can't help it if someone brings up his name. DeSantis is totally opposite of Ryan and his RINO faction. I despise Paul Ryan and I would wager so does DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis has and will continue to support Trump enthusiastically. So will I. Trump should pick up the phone, if hasn't already, and square things with him. Insulting him is not smart and not wise. I don't think too highly of Trump doing that in public. It is stupid and childish.
DeSantis is running for reelection and wants to crush the DA Crist once and for all. Distractions from Trump can come after the election not 3 days before. Democrats are loving this.

I would say it differently, but that is exactly DeSantis' opportunity. (and all things being equal, I would have DeSantis and Tim Scott in 2024 but agree that 2028 is the smoothest "implementation option").
DeSantis doesn't have to say anything. He didn't start this and the last thing he needs is a verbal sparing with Trump 3 days before the election. What purpose would that serve. Trump has shown by his twitter history he just keeps on the same track and never let's it go.
Trump is very inconsistent in his attacks. One day he insults DeSantis and the next day he stands up in Miami and supports him, gives him some nice words and says he will win reelection. He goes from hot to cold.
He did the same thing with Marco Rubio during the 2016 primary. He insulted the man and wouldn't let it go. Now he holds a nice rally right before election day with praise. So I guess it is best to just ignore Trump and allow Melania to calm him down. A war of words from DeSantis does nothing positive and Democrats laugh about i.

Paul Ryan, at a closed door meeting, named DeSantis among his Top 3 for 2024 included RDS who was NOT at this meeting. Nor did he seek out Ryan.
RDS did not ask for this and the former speaker may have actually said this in an attempt to work his way back into relevance for HIMSELF.
