Pierce was severely underused. It matters. You need the main guy to be someone who can block and get the tough yards when you need them. Mullen didn't use the starter as much as he should have last season imo.

You are correct but don’t overlook the punishment DP dealt. He was a load. I would have loved to see a defense have to deal with him for 25 or 30 carries.KeeeRIST,,,, what a dumb-azz. 🙄
Go find an adult that can explain what I posted.
I'm typing real slow this time....
Take 50 carries away from Davis and give them to Pierce.
What would that have resulted in?
Plus - 50 x 5.7 = 285 yds
Minus 50 x 5.3 = 256 yds
The total season rushing yards difference = 29 yards. 🤓
I understand Nick, but don't you overlook the many other considerations involved:You are correct but don’t overlook the punishment DP dealt. He was a load. I would have loved to see a defense have to deal with him for 25 or 30 carries.

You constantly dissing guys have a right to your own opinions, even when you're FoS imo. 😜
All three Pierce-Davis-Wright were solid blockers in 2021.
The 'tough yards' were properly used imo, demonstrated by the rushing TD's stats:
Pierce 13 tough yards TD's
Davis 5 TD's
Jones 4 TD's
Richardson 3 TD's
Wright 1 TD
The other 4 combined = 13 TD's
Also, Dan's last 2 years were severely fugged up by the Chinese/Rats Kung Flu scamdemic.
Billy has now been given a 48+ staff with a Heavener bonus and a wide open Florida, thanks to FL Gov Ron DeSantis (R).
Without all of that extra staff help or a Heavener bonus, Dan's first 2 recruiting classes were: #14 and then #9.
Billy's first class was a #17, and the 2nd class is currently sitting at #50 (hopefully it improves by ESD/NSD).
Taking over a loser 4-7 McLame team, being projected to go between 5 & 8 wins, he went 10-3
Dan's 2nd season projected between 7-9 wins, he went 11-2.
In his 3rd season he was the SEC-C Champ losing to NC Bama by 6 pts 46-52 in the SEC-C.
Bama went on to win the NC 52 - 24 (+28) over tOSU.
Freakin' Dan has already been shitted by Socialist-U and is gone, so it's about time for the dweebs to STFU about Dan, and begin their usual attempts to bring down yet another Gator HC, cause it's what they do best now daze it seems to me... 😏
BTW, how many years does Billy get to bring in at least a Top 3 recruiting class?
And how many years to win an SEC-C, after taking over a better 6-7 team?
And how many to win a NC, before being the next HC to be run outta town on a rail, and whined about for many years to come??? 🙄
Though seen through Orange & Blue glasses, Brody Smoot's predictions come from The Loveliest Village on the Plain - not Gainesville !
Will not bore you with a bunch of cut & paste -
Bama (12-0) & Dawgs (12-0) lead the way; Gators (7-5), & Auburn, a realistic (6-6).
For a different, non Gator, slant on the season, with explanations that make sense - check it out -

Dan brought in the #14 recruiting class.
Then he was good enough to take a 4-7 team to 10-3 in this first season.
Billy brought in the #17 recruiting class.
And he is projected to take a 6-7 team to 7-5 in his first season.
Marvelous....... 🤤
Bordy Smoot:
"Making a bowl game is an upgrade from the season the Gators had in 2021."
The iG:
Yeah, because everyone knows that they didn't get a bowl game in 2021. 🙄

Fever,We can overperform if Richardson is the real deal.
Fever,
Agree - BUT, he needs to stay healthy !
If he goes down; we do not have a backup QB who can move the team; unles Kitna or Brown comes alive quickly this fall.
Fever,
Every year for the last 3 years, we have talked about better OL play but have never gotten it.
But hope springs eternal ! Maybe this year it will actually happen.
AR15 has the curse of potential.
Shows physical talent for stretches in some games but doesn't win them - lack of mental focus; Injury prone !
If he goes down they will likely invoke the mercy rule. No QB2 capable of stepping up & running the offense

Insta,
You are looking at the ranking of who he signed; not who he actually got into school & on the field to actually play in a game.
Those rankings, of Mullen's, you just boasted about were nothing but hot air !
Mullen wasted 'markers' signing kids who had no chance to get into the Univ of Florida. He would smile & say its worth taking a chance that we can get them back in after JUCO.
Have you forgotten all those wasted scholarships ?
The ones which upped his class rankings but never even made it onto campus ?
The 4* Offensive Tackle with the Visa problem which never got resolved, the 4* IOL with the grade problems, the WR who made the surprise commitment at an All-Star game, who Mullen signed & who couldn't be admitted, etc, etc, etc !
Diwun Black is the only one of Mullen's screwups who ever made it into UF after failing to originally qualify.
Looking for Black to have a great year !
Subtract those screwups from the class rankings you just boasted about & what do you actually have for Mullen's recruiting ?
Fever,Mullen didn't recruit that good but a lot of other teams lost players to transfers etc around that time to keep our talent composite around #7 or #8. I think it will be around #10 or #11 this season when it comes out.
Fever,
One of the few times I must disagree with you, 1/4 of the "star power" Mullen recruited in those first two classes failed to make it in.
Because he got away with it at Miss State - with their lower academic standards, he wasted markers & schollies just to inflate his class rankings & look good.
If my memory is correct, it was right after that he "let it be known" that he might jump to the NFL & started fishing for a raise.
7-5 seems reasonable. Kentucky will not be favored in Gainesville.Optimistic, Pessimistic and Realistic: 2022 predictions for Florida, Georgia, & 2 others
Interesting article by Jesse Simonton
https://www.on3.com/news/optimistic...redictions-florida-georgia-kentucky-missouri/
FLORIDA
Optimistic: 9-3
Pessimistic: 5-7
Realistic: 7-5 with one signature upset against either Utah, Kentucky, Tennessee or Texas A&M. The Gators certainly could go 0-2 to start the year, but I foresee a split. While the roster has depth issues (particularly at receiver, defensive line and linebacker), there’s still a lot of quality talent in Gainesville. The pass rush, led by Brenton Cox Jr., is fierce, and cornerback Jason Marshall. is one of the better defensive backs in the SEC. Richardson has flashes of brilliance and frustration, ultimately leading him to return to the team in 2023. Arizona State transfer Ricky Pearsall has a solid season but is not the bandaid solution to Florida’s receiver problems.
IMO, we lose to a good Utah team; narrow victory over Kentucky.
Losing to an Out of Conerence opponent better than an SEC loss. Better chance for a Gator Bowl berth.
Season likely to be up & down the whole way. Billy & the gators get better as the season progresses.
I like it!Pre-DIC-shuns.....
With what Dan left, and what Nappy has brought in,,,,,
(Dan left QB-dt AR-15, while Nappy brought in QB-dt Max Brown)
the Gators will go into the WLOCP at 7-0 with the SECe-C on the line...
How's that for a bold WaG?
2022 Preseason SEC Power Rankings
No surprises at the top - Bama, Dawgs, TAMU
Gators middle of the Pack - maybe
The Gators are a tough team to figure out heading into 2022. On the one hand, Anthony Richardson has (the curse of) superstar potential at quarterback but has struggled to stay healthy.
The ground game should be good with a deep stable of backs running behind a veteran O-line - heard this for 3 years running;
Where's the Beef - Show Me - on the field !
But there are potential issues defensively, especially on the interior of the line. Depth is thin in a few spots. Can the Gators stop the run?

lol... I think it will bring some pressure on it in the 24 class for sure. Maybe even late in the 2023 class.Fever have been reading some your posts in "The Parking Lot" - Scary !
Have a feeling economic troubles will bring NIL stupidity to a halt shortly.

NIL and money is not the biggest worry imo.lol... I think it will bring some pressure on it in the 24 class for sure. Maybe even late in the 2023 class.
Risk versus benefit is ludicrous (IMHO). Now if we’re talking polio, TB or small pox then by all means get the vaccination. And I know this is a parking lot subject.NIL and money is not the biggest worry imo.
UF lost KJ from the B-Ball team, just glad he's not dead...
Similar post-vaccination deaths of the young have been reported in the country. A man in his late 20s died Sunday, 20 days after receiving a Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in Jeju. The man received his first dose on Aug. 2. He complained of chest pain, a common post-vaccine symptom, and visited a hospital on Aug. 22 but died after symptoms worsened.
Japan's Ministry of Health just announced that "the Moderna and Pfizer Covid vaccines could cause heart-related side effects in younger males." Health experts in Japan have witnessed skyrocketing deaths...
The web is filled with stories like those from all over the world....

Way too much whining on AR-15's injury potential. -
Per ESPN career stats are pitiful - completed 39 of 66 attempts for 556 yards with 7 TD - & 6 INT - 71.2 QBRInsta - He missed a lot of games-only played in 7 games last year + 2 as a Fresh; not much to go on -
Way too little expected or appreciated concerning Max Brown.-----
Insta, Brown late getting on campus; I like his HS stats, but that is all he has so far-no spring practice - nothing to judge him on at the SEC level

Insta you have a tendency to list players' height & weight as though that was the only thing that matters.
In HS if you are bigger than the other players, you can have a certain amount of success.
In the SEC every lineman has size; It takes more than just a big body to be effective.
Size does matter, but speed, strength, endurance, & the mental aptitude for the game are also extremely important.
Most of the DL you listed are young & have not seen the field much in game situations, so hard for me to judge.
Would not surprise me if several of them get cut from the team so Napier can use their schollys elsewhere.
Watson 6-5 439 So - has gained weight from 400 to 439 lbs - he is FAT - NOT strong.
He can't play SEC football at that weight; no movement; no endurance - only good for 1 or 2 plays before he has to come out of the game; only 7 total tackles all season !
Unless the RB or QB runs into him, hopeless. Can't keep a player like him just for short yardage situations.
2021 (Freshman): Appeared as a reserve in all 13 games, finishing with 0.5 sacks and seven tackles (2 solo; 5 assists).
https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4431607
Ethan White worked hard to get into shape; as a result, he may have a chance at an NFL career.
IMO, Watson. with his I don't give a damn attitude - his failure to lose weight & get in shape, has thrown his opportunity away.
IMO, Watson has done nothing except EAT & is a Waste of a scholly.
Fever,You serious about Watson gaining weight? That is crazy if true. He was the other DT with the first team with Dexter I think or at least in there quite a bit. The backup D linemen with the Blue squad weren't getting much pressure at all on passing downs if I remember correctly.
Edit: All I could find was an article that said he showed up for the Spring at 415 but dropped weight prior to the spring game. He definitely appeared to be the starting tackle in that game along with Dexter.
