You are correct but don’t overlook the punishment DP dealt. He was a load. I would have loved to see a defense have to deal with him for 25 or 30 carries.
I understand Nick, but don't you overlook the many other considerations involved:
Injuries.
Tires and ypc drops and the risks of a fumble increases.
Backup without playing time if injury does occur.
Past history shows that UF's best rushing numbers came with committees.
Both Dan and Billy are committed to using a committee, which is great wid-me....

The 'tough yards' were properly used imo, demonstrated by the rushing TD's stats:

Also, Dan's last 2 years were severely fugged up by the Chinese/Rats Kung Flu scamdemic.

Without all of that extra staff help or a Heavener bonus, Dan's first 2 recruiting classes were: #14 and then #9.
Billy's first class was a #17, and the 2nd class is currently sitting at #50 (hopefully it improves by ESD/NSD).
Taking over a loser 4-7 McLame team, being projected to go between 5 & 8 wins, he went 10-3

Pierce clearly should have been used more in many of those games. As far as Napier he shows he is putting the recruiting work in unlike Mullen but unfortunately when it comes to getting these top 150 area recruits NIL will be the biggest factor. You will have to be in the ballpark of the players best offer to land them. My guess is we will be in the #7 to #9 area on getting top 150 area recruits due to NIL.

He forgot Missouri is in the East I think. I think he is too high on Tenn and we go at least 8-4 with Richardson starting all the games.
Dan brought in the #14 recruiting class.
Then he was good enough to take a 4-7 team to 10-3 in this first season.

You are looking at the ranking of who he signed; not who he actually got into school & on the field to actually play in a game.
Those rankings, of Mullen's, you just boasted about were nothing but hot air !
Mullen wasted 'markers' signing kids who had no chance to get into the Univ of Florida. He would smile & say its worth taking a chance that we can get them back in after JUCO.
Have you forgotten all those wasted scholarships ?
The ones which upped his class rankings but never even made it onto campus ?
The 4* Offensive Tackle with the Visa problem which never got resolved, the 4* IOL with the grade problems, the WR who made the surprise commitment at an All-Star game, who Mullen signed & who couldn't be admitted, etc, etc, etc !
Diwun Black is the only one of Mullen's marginal players who ever made it into UF after failing to originally qualify.
Looking for Black to have a great year this year !

Mullen didn't recruit that good but a lot of other teams lost players to transfers etc around that time to keep our talent composite around #7 or #8. I think it will be around #10 or #11 this season when it comes out.

One of the few times I must disagree with you, 1/4 of the "star power" Mullen recruited in those first two classes failed to make it in.
Because he got away with it at Miss State - with their lower academic standards, he wasted markers & schollies just to inflate his class rankings & look good.
If my memory is correct, it was right after that he "let it be known" that he might jump to the NFL & started fishing for a raise.

Mullen might have raised the talent composite some due to incoming transfers also. He did have that class where we didn't even get a bunch of them in school or they were only on campus a short period. I see Mullen had a jump on this after his first class and then backed up a little before we got to # 7 his last 2 seasons. A lot can affect it though like a lot of players moving on after the previous season and what is going on with your transfers and other teams transfers. Another issue is getting guys like Lingard and Bowman in the portal that are hardly even playing but still counting as 5 stars in that formula.

Realistic: 7-5 with one signature upset against either Utah, Kentucky, Tennessee or Texas A&M. The Gators certainly could go 0-2 to start the year, but I foresee a split. While the roster has depth issues (particularly at receiver, defensive line and linebacker), there’s still a lot of quality talent in Gainesville. The pass rush, led by Brenton Cox Jr., is fierce, and cornerback Jason Marshall. is one of the better defensive backs in the SEC. Richardson has flashes of brilliance and frustration, ultimately leading him to return to the team in 2023. Arizona State transfer Ricky Pearsall has a solid season but is not the bandaid solution to Florida’s receiver problems.
IMO, we lose to a good Utah team; narrow victory over Kentucky.
Losing to an Out of Conference opponent better than an SEC loss. Better chance for a Gator Bowl berth.
Season likely to be up & down the whole way. Billy & the gators get better as the season progresses.

The Gators are a tough team to figure out heading into 2022. On the one hand, Anthony Richardson has (the curse of) superstar potential at quarterback but has struggled to stay healthy.
The ground game should be good with a deep stable of backs running behind a veteran O-line - heard this for 3 years running;
Where's the Beef - Show Me - on the field !
But there are potential issues defensively, especially on the interior of the line. Depth is thin in a few spots. Can the Gators stop the run?

Insta you have a tendency to list players' height & weight as though that was the only thing that matters.
In HS if you are bigger than the other players, you can have a certain amount of success.
In the SEC every lineman has size; It takes more than just a big body to be effective.
Size does matter, but speed, strength, endurance, & the mental aptitude for the game are also extremely important.
Most of the DL you listed are young & have not seen the field much in game situations, so hard for me to judge.
Would not surprise me if several of them get cut from the team so Napier can use their schollys elsewhere.
Watson 6-5 439 So - has gained weight from 400 to 439 lbs - he is FAT - NOT strong.
He can't play SEC football at that weight; no movement; no endurance - only good for 1 or 2 plays before he has to come out of the game; only 7 total tackles all season !
Unless the RB or QB runs into him, hopeless. Can't keep a player like him just for short yardage situations.
2021 (Freshman): Appeared as a reserve in all 13 games, finishing with 0.5 sacks and seven tackles (2 solo; 5 assists).

You serious about Watson gaining weight? That is crazy if true. He was the other DT with the first team with Dexter I think or at least in there quite a bit. The backup D linemen with the Blue squad weren't getting much pressure at all on passing downs if I remember correctly.
Edit: All I could find was an article that said he showed up for the Spring at 415 but dropped weight prior to the spring game. He definitely appeared to be the starting tackle in that game along with Dexter.

Which is why I think Napier will be looking to make changes on our DL very soon.
If they do it soon enough, the players can convert to an "academic type" scholarship will allows them to stay in school, but they can't be part of the team.
