Another article that's annoying to the iG, this one is from SI's Joe Rondone....
Golden is still looking for another PG, (PG Curtis Givens III 6-2 170), while he's seemingly over-looking a PG that's already on the roster (PG Denzel Aberdeen 6-5 189 So)....
Note: As a HS Sr, Aberdeen went for 27 Pts in the FL 7A State Championship game.
"Givens exemplifies a larger frame which he uses on both ends of the floor effectively. His length presents a string defensive upside, making the likelihood of Florida’s pursuit even greater." (that's compared to a couple of other HS recruits)
Aberdeen 6-5 189
Clayton Jr 6-2 195
Givens III 6-2 170 (I guess he's the largest midget of those 3 recruits) 😉
Do these writers ever consult a current roster before puking out their drivel?
"Ideally, the model is to equip the roster with a dynamic one-two punch in the backcourt similar to Jamarree Bouyea and Khalil Shabazz in the final year of Golden’s tenure at San Francisco."
While Todd already has a PG--SG combination on his roster, and working together they won the FL 7A State Championship. (PG Aberdeen and SG Kuge, both were 4-stars)
To me, recruiting someone new, is secondary to a coaching staff's ability to DEVELOP what they already have on the roster.....
Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to have Givens be a Gator, but I'd like him as a developmental depth piece behind Denzel and Clayton III, at least to begin with....
