Biden Crime wave

We are flooded with guns. Getting control will be neither easy nor quick.

Countries with the Highest Total Gun Deaths (all causes) in 2019

  1. Brazil — 49,436
  2. United States — 37,038
  3. Venezuela — 28,515
  4. Mexico — 22,116
  5. India — 14,710
  6. Colombia — 13,169
  7. Philippines — 9,267
  8. Guatemala — 5,980

Why doesn't the US lead in gun deaths per capita if we're 2:1 for gun ownership vs any other country on earth?

And why are the other 7 countries on the list above nowhere on the top 10 for ownership density?

It's almost like guns don't fire themselves, and the ownership density of guns doesn't directly lead to gun-related deaths.

Weird, I know.

Here's your list again for the benefit of others reading this post...

Top 10 Countries with Highest Gun Ownership (Civilian guns owned per 100 people):

  1. United States - 120.5
  2. Falkland Islands - 62.1
  3. Yemen - 52.8
  4. New Caledonia - 42.5
  5. Serbia - 39.1 (tie)
  6. Montenegro - 39.1 (tie)
  7. Uruguay - 34.7 (tie)
  8. Canada - 34.7 (tie)
  9. Cyprus - 34
  10. Finland - 32.4

Many of them are. Others, like Greenland and Russia, are not.

Also, none of the countries with lower murder rates began with nearly 400 million known firearms when they banned or severely restricted them. And let's be honest, the actual number of firearms in this country is north of 400 million.

Of course criminals will be quick to turn theirs in if you get your way...and no way they'll find a way to procure more of them.
Our Country ONLY exists because of our population has always been so well armed. Freedom has never been free...and when the people lose the ability to fight for their freedoms...they usually go away very quickly. There is not ONE Country I want America to be like. Theo the lib has different feelings. He is in a severe minority. I wish these libs that think they know better how America should operate would just move on...OR..take a basic civics class, focusing on the American Constitution

The idiocy...the war on drugs is unwinnable. We need to legalize drugs and regulate (tax) the sale.

OTOH, we need to do the opposite with guns. Because then bad people won't have guns?

One thing is for sure, we didn't ban lead paint soon enough.

I should clarify that I believe legalizing drugs is a horrible idea.

And there is no "war on drugs" anymore than there's a war on theft of property or child sex trafficking. There's enforcement of law and it will always be ongoing...in all cases.

"War on drugs" was a catchy advertising slogan.

Following gun company 'logic':

You know the solution to obesity? MORE FOOD!
That's not the analogy.

Too much ice cream leading to obesity = death. The spoon is the tool in the analogy that actually makes sense. An inanimate object (spoon) cannot "do" anything, a person with agency is "doing" the negative action taking place (eating ice cream and getting fat). That's what a tool is, like any other tool. It has no agency.

But if you want change the analogy you need to get more specific, because food is required to sustain life. If obesity is still the negative outcome, then fast food is a more logical tool. A Big Mac does not insert itself into your body. It just sits there, it has no agency.

So, you know the solution to obesity, MORE FAST FOOD!
...is probably what you meant to say, otherwise you're analogy is total nonsense as people need food to survive and more food would sustain life, not end it.

But in the same token, the Big Mac is innocent in this analogy. The fatty who houses 3 Big Macs a day is controlling the outcome of being fat. But you want to blame the Big Mac (or "Le Big Mac" in France, which isn't a problem for the French as often as they walk everywhere and eat a diet with more whole foods).

You never took a philosophy class in college, did you?

I used to be on the side of legalizing ALL drugs, with the thought that clean needles, drug rehabs funded by tax dollars, etc would lead to better outcomes.

I've visited Seattle and SF in the last 12 months. I have 100% changed my mind. Hard drugs need to be fought tooth and nail. They are so powerful these days that they create chemical dependencies that ruin lives extremely quickly. The people lost to them don't have the ability to take even free assistance once hooked.

Their COULD be a successful war on drugs...if they wanted to win it. There COULD be a war on the invasion of the southern border...IF they wanted it to stop. And it is NOT just the democrats that are letting this happen. This is what makes me SICK towards our politicians...and why I LOVE Trump. America has lost what it stands for...WE THE PEOPLE. WE THE PEOPLE do not make the decisions anymore.

13% of people who use Meth will ever be free from it before death. I don't know the specific numbers on heroine but they can't be much better.

People in my circle in OK got into hard drugs later in HS/early college. Luckily I had football and basketball to keep me clean and worried about my body and performance. Who knows what would have happened otherwise. And I was no church mouse, I just focused on sports and school more than most of the group.

One very close friend who kicked meth, then became an alcoholic and now just smokes an insane amount of weed.

Another meth head is still dabbling but his life is a wreck. His days are numbered.

One kicked a coke addiction, now just weed and is a multi million dollar attorney in OKC.

6 others are dead. 3 Oxy/benzos and meth mainly...and 3 to alcohol...and one suicide that may have been substance related. A little over half the core group are reasonable, productive members of society now.

I had friends who were so addicted to weed that they basically smoked there way out of school. One college and another law school. They ended up using loan $ to pay for weed/crack and in the end could not pay the bill for tuition/rent etc and were forced to leave. Had a co-worker whose nephew was a meth head. It got to the point where he was stealing anything he could sell for $ to buy more. They had tried rehab 2 different times and didn't work. He ended up in jail. Some how he managed to get a decent job at one of the big Department Stores in Miami, but later got caught stealing to pay for his habit.

True but you can put a dent in it. That's the best one can hope for. Make it as hard as possible and put people rehab instead of jail where appropriate.

Yea, I agree on enforcement. By no means should we give up on that.

The problem with rehab based on sentencing, they will go 199 times and say all the right crap to avoid jail/prison but it's manipulation 99.9% of the time. Rehab only works when the person themselves decides I need help. Even then, the odds are against recovery.

Arm yourself, keep your head on a swivel and choose your battles wisely. If you think that a certain gas station is unsafe then believe yourself and pick another one. Saving a nickel per gallon isn't worth your safety.

I'm a cop and I've received some pretty decent close quarters training relative to self-defense and I'm always armed...but there are gas stations that I don't go to. It's not worth it.

Eventually voters will empower law enforcement to cleanup these high crime areas. Until then, they're a no go for you unless you're also a criminal. It's an ugly truth but it's the truth all the same.

Also, and I'm not trying to victim blame but rather to inform, flip flops make it very difficult to defend yourself or to even flee. Wear them to the pool or on the boat but don't wear them to get gas or go shopping.

Wearing flip flops to a place where you might be robbed is tantamount to an injured gazelle drinking at the hyenas watering hole. The rest of your behavior, including your appearance, does the same. If you're out of shape or of small stature then you're a target.

LOL...I would have pulled a muscle lmao and then dude would probably have beat my arse. 😂
Last time I got in to a scuffle was 7 years ago in a bar. I was on a pool team, and this drunk guy was cussing out our lady members during the match. I was playing the last match and he got REALLY bad...was trying to throw me off. When the match completed, he kept it up...I told him to shut the F up and he told me he was going to come whip my azz...I said well come on. He did. I hit him right in the nose with a PERFECT stepped in to jb, and it felt like I hit a 300 yard drive. In my whole life...no one gets up from that. He did. He was VERY rocked, but still on his feet..so I went OH *** I had better finish this...so I started hitting him with everything I had before he regained his marbles. Well his teammates tackled me, and we were all rolling around on the ground. NOT where you want to be at 55. The guy was mid 30's and 220ish. When we got seperated, my teammates told me I needed to go to the hospital. I said..."he did not touch me". They said...yes he did. Come to find out I had HIS blood ALL OVER me and my white shirt...two streams that poured from his nose. Moral of this long story...I could not have hit this guy more square..or any better. Unless I am cornered, or I need to protect someone I love...that was my LAST fight. I am now retired. Lucky I did not get my *** whipped that night! LOL

@Mdfgator your BLM girlfriend meatball got arrested 😭😭

STOP BEING RACIST. If it weren't fore a racist judicial system, she never would have been arrested. Everywhere else in the world, BUT the racist USA would gladly allow people to just take whatever they want/need to survive without making it a crime.

OH WAIT A MINUTE, never mind ...
