Zaire to Florida

Michi,

Why are you so confident these guys can change their system to something radically different when they can't even get the system they know inside out to function properly? And why are you even sure they're changing systems? Seems more like you're wishing for that system more than them actually switching to it. He chased after Jackson and Francois in his initial class who were both dual-threats, got Trask and Franks who are 4.7 or better guys, and got Toney last year. Other than Allen all the QB's they've recruited could run, that isn't new.

Fields decommitted from PSU. If you don't think Mac is playing the 'Zaire has one year then we have no QB suited for our system' card, you people are once again being oblivious to the situation. (Not directed at you TG).

Yes, Trask, Franks and Allen are probably not in the plans at UF.

Yep Mac already told Fields that based on Fields comments about our QB situation. Franks can run some but I think he is just struggling with decision making in practice probably.

The QB cluster has become,,,, zzzzzzzzzzz for me, so you guys carry on with it.... ;)

How about if I just let you continue to prove yourself to be stupid instead?

But hey, I bet no matter what I do, you'll still hang on every word that I ever post, because you're now and always will be, a wannabe dweeb.... o_O

Besides dumb-azz, I didn't say that I wasn't posting on this thread anymore, I just said that I was tired (zzzzz) of the QB cluster yap-yap. Next time get an adult that's not brain-dead like you are to explain it to you....

I never once said they could do so successfully, and when Chip Kelly is coaching UT in January we will quickly see just how bad these guys are.

As for the change, so many things that demonstrate that they are.

As far as Jake Allen, I mean they took him before his junior year, I have never sensed their was an overabundance of interest in the past year, but they weren't going to pull the offer.

If Sumlin goes 8-4 or worse Kelly will end up at A&M unless the Notre Dame job opened up then he would probably take that instead.

Ok but my point is they're been recruiting athletic QB's all along, that isn't new, and the offense still didn't change. Both Grier and Treon could move, we never involved either in the run game. Appleby could move well for a 230 lb. guy, they never ran him either. Trask and Franks are big, athletic dudes...same thing. I think they want somebody just athletic enough to avoid a rush but we're never gonna be a spread option team. Even Fields who is athletic is pass-first. They've already told y'all they aren't changing the offense, just seems like wishful thinking to me. They want athletic passers, there's a difference.

If they don't have some designed run options in there with Zaire if he starts they truly are clueless.

Zaire is in. Sure thing promised starter, or why would he be coming?
And now it's said that #1 QB-DT Fields might commit to the Gators.

The adjusted 2017 QB Roster:
1. Zaire - Grad-Sr
2. LDR - rsJr backup
3. Toney Fr EE - 3rd team
4. Sproles - Scout team scrub walk-on.
~ 5. QB-DT Fields might arrive to take over the starter job in 2018.
(Fields sounds like another great kid that would likely make a Great Gator student/athlete)

And nobody else matters much anymore....
So, I guess I was correct last season when I said that both Franks and Trask should xfer out.
And this season when I said that Allen was dumb (or lied to) for coming to UF at all...

So you're claiming victory (you were correct) about something that hadn't happened?

Both Franks and Trask are RS Freshmen this year, so first of all, they can't transfer without losing a full year of eligibility, and secondly, since we don't know what's going to happen, buys let's pretend that Zaire starts the whole year and neither of those guys play, they would both have 3 more years of eligibility after this year.

Well if we did land Fields I think he may end up redshirting as he is saying now he has no plans to enroll early and wants to play out the sports year his final year in high school so that would mean Franks or Trask would likely start in 2018 unless Mac felt the situation warranted another grad transfer again. I also doubt Zaire makes it all the way through without missing a game or two so we might get to see them in live action against a legit defense to get a feel for what we really have there. I doubt Allen would transfer unless he saw another QB was clearly higher on the pecking order and that QB was going to be around longer than him. If anyone transfers I think it will be Franks but he may hang in there to see if Mac finally doesn't grab another grad transfer.

Also if Franks is someone that just doesn't catch on Allen could possibly start in 2018. Its not out of the question.

They could both go the JUCO route. Play...and sign a D1 ship and immediately start their Junior season.

If Trask transferred...it would be a FCS school.

Trask will be the one that transfers for sure, unless he has something to show that no one expects, not even on his own team expects with injuries and gets a romo type come up...

The dunny-goater posts his usual stupid-stalker chit. No surprises there.

2017 Zaire
2018 Fields and/or Toney
2019 Fields and/or Toney
2020 etc....

The one's on the current roster that will likely never step on the field for a real game in the SWAMP: Franks - Trask - Allen - Sproles.

Anyone can guess and speculate, o_O and that's all that ever happens in the football off-season summers anyway.... :p

Franks will likely see the field against N Colorado even in a worse case scenario unless he decides to leave right away.

Naw, LDR will need the patsy game time to knock off the rust for his backup position. ;)

Although Toney might get a part of that too... o_O

lol You may actually be right and Mac does throw LDR out there some in the N Colorado game. It would be epic on these Gator Forums if we had lost to Michigan and LDR was looking at maybe starting again.

Just remember that Franks nor Trask got a single minute last year in the early games, to see if they could play. So why would they bother giving either of them any playing time now at this late date..... (rhetorical)

How in the HELL did no one see that vid or even say anything... My GOD @Michi-Gator

That shit is SIQ. But no one seems to see value in that. The consensus here seems to be everyone prefers pocket passers even though they are almost non-existant among the top teams. I love that Mac has left Toney at QB to this point. From a defensive standpoint that is such a nightmare to have to worry about that as opposed to a guy who is always three steps behind center on every play. I love the idea of a guy like that having the ball in his hands on EVERY play

Saw it, don't care. Because I know better with this offensive staff.

You have the most valid point of all BUT I just don't see Mac getting canned anytime soon. We are going to whiff on our shot at Chip Kelly. I am kinda in a place where I know we are stuck in this hell of mediocrity for another decade plus so we might as well be fun to watch. I said the minute he was mentioned that hiring Nuss would damn us to hell. And Macs best offensive at CSU were with Baldwin whom he was letting go. These guys are clowns but I have given up on hoping for a change. Only good news is once we do change we probably win't overpay another Saban assistant

I doubt Toney sees the field much in non cupcake games at QB because Zaire will probably end up being the starter. If Franks wins the job we might see him a little bit more.

Am I the only one here that remembers Trask taking off several times in both Spring games when nobody got open against the 1st team's defense, and picking up good yards every single time? o_O

Apparently so....

We usually just wait for Trask's biggest fan to say something.

The wait is over.

You're ugly, stupid, and a loser. But I never wait for you to do or say anything of value, because you have no history of ever doing so.

Your x-girlfriend likely figured that out some time ago... o_O

Ouch.

Is it juice and nap time because I'm going to need one after that kindergarten genius of an insult.

Zaire is to interview Mc-staff and decide if he wants to accept their guaranteed offer to be the 2017 starter. I wonder how much vigorish they will need to add to the guaranteed starters job to get him in here?

He started off wanting the chump schedule at neutered lame and their fabulous wet bar and their long history of available women (lizzy) to be abused with little danger of being held accountable. But now he claims to want to finish out his stat filled QB career with the competition level of the SEC. -- I doubt that he can even make it through a full season as a QB-DT starter in the SEC. (keep the carry-off cart warmed up) o_O

"The visit (to UF) Wednesday is just making sure we dot our I's and cross our T's, so it's just everything really solidifying things," Zaire told ESPN's Tom Van Haaren. "Making sure it feels how I know it would be of making it a home. If everything goes as planned, I'm a Gator, but of course the visit is important to take everything in." (or to take everything I can get)

"Coming from Notre Dame, you're playing top games every week, (LMAO) and I wanted to continue that trend. I didn't want to run from the challenge, I wanted to embrace the challenge."

What a crock of crap. He was offered by UA when he chose to go to nuttless neutered lame to begin with. He could have been in the SEC all along if he had really wanted to. (pants on fire)
=============

The Gators really need a running QB because they don't have a single quality RB on the entire roster.... -- And how many fumbles are they going to generate when Zaire tries to pull the ball back out of those RB's hands? OMG! Our opponents will be tackling both the QB and the RB before they can complete the handoff, judging by how long the QB had to set up and pass last season.... o_O

I doubt that McNuss are going to switch to a Tebow/Meyer style of Spread/Option offense. They just need a big strong QB that can take off and run when a pass play breaks down, and they already have that in Trask 6-4 238 4.6/40 which he has demonstrated in both Spring games. He could run a QB draw 2-3 times per game, and they already have Toney if they want to run wildcat QB plays. I'd rather see Toney be the starter than to bring in Zaire (6-0 220 already with a broken ankle) for 1 year.

Zaire is a total waste of time and he will set all of the young guys even further back than they already have been by the Appleby-LDR combo.

PS

Stupidimus-Rex (ryan) and Cow-Chip Kelly were cut from the same liar's carpetbagger cloth imo. Neither will ever coach in Gainesville, FL and that's final,,,, cause I say so...

But hey, they could get the mNC Band back together, as both OC SOS and DC Stoops are both available for 2018 and beyond. :D

Zaire's dad said he has to earn the starting job and there was no promises that Mac just said everyone will be on equal footing or something like that.

Ship or a walkon, Zaire is still a waste of time, space, and money. And dividing up the practice snaps any further is unproductive, and just plain STUPID imo!

Why UF does not need a running QB, but instead needs an accurate passer to throw it or to hand it off, or once in a great while take off for some yards and/or a 1st down.

Here's my answer to that question with the appropriate stats to back it up.:

1) Mark Thompson 6-2 237 rsSr ***** (#1 JuCo RB)
2016 - R 68 for 299 yds, 4.4 ypc, 2 TD's
2016 - Rec 4 for 105 yds, 26.3 yds/rec, 1 TD
Combined 72 touches for 404 yds, 5.6 yds/touch, 3 TD's

2) Jordan Scarlett 5-10 213 Jr **** (FL 7A 1st Team, Army AA, Nike Opening)
2016 - R 178 for 889 yds, 5.0 ypc, 6 TD's
2016 - Rec 4 for 23 yds, 5.75 yds/rec, 0 TD
Combined 182 touches for 912 yds, 5.0 yds/touch, 6 TD's

3) Lamical Perine 5-11 221 So **** (Ala. 7A HS RB of the Year)
2016 - R 91 for 421 yds, 4.6 ypc, 1 TD
2016 - Rec 9 for 161 yds, 17.9 yds/rec, 1 TD
Combined 100 touches for 582 yds, 5.8 yds/touch, 2 TD's

#10 RB Adarius Lemons 6-1 195 Fr **** - Clearwater (began HS Sr year as #1 RB in FL)
HS Career - 2,307 yds, 7.2 ypc, 24 TD's, + 3 Rec TD's.

#16 RB Malik Davis 5-11 190 Fr **** - Tampa (Broke NC-Clemson RB's HS Records)
Sr rushing: #1 in the Nation - 2,469 yds, 11.5 ypc, 33 TD's
HS Career - 7,025 yds, 8.5 ypc, with 83 TD's (Ray-Ray McCloud HS 5,765 yds)

~ Dabo tried and failed to flip him to Clemson.

#25 Ath Kadarius Toney 6-0 185 Fr EE ***
Ala Super All State Team, 6A Back of the Year
Sr - P 2,894 yds, 32 TD's
Sr - R 894 yds, 15 TD's
Combined Offense - 3,788 yds with 47 TD's

We might not have an accurate passer. It seems Franks may be really prone to turnovers and Allen wont be ready in 3 weeks to start in the SEC. Toney was said to be having accuracy issues also.
