will ole miss make a run at Mike White?

tennis-sea has prefected the illegal screen, so congrats on another big rubber-dollie win,,, courtesy of the always competent SEC officials...

I didn't think the officiating affected the outcome at all. Some of our kids committed bad fouls that hurt. But our defense didn't play up to its usual standards and the offense was ineffective as usual. Tennessee is simply a better team and deserved a fairly easy win.

The Gators are 0-6 vs. ranked opponents and 1-9 in Quadrant 1 games this season … UF is 10-20 vs. AP Top 25 teams and 2-6 vs. top 10 teams under White …

Fire Mike White!

Fire Mike White!

Fire Mike White!

And then hire any Gator-hater to be the new B-Ball coach, because they ALL know more about winning B-Ball than a 3x, 3 Conf. (WAC-CUSA-SEC) CoY ever will....

There Mike goes again, blaming the players again for the win over Vandy, (57 Pts)
Don't they know how terrible of a coach he is, with only a Top 10 in the Nation defense.

And Mike always takes all of the credit when the players make their shots, or when the bench players come in and get their 'team' jobs done...

"Odd that you win the game with your two leading scorers — who have really carried you in league play offensively — they go 2-for-19," UF coach Mike White said in reference to senior KeVaughn Allen and freshman Noah Locke, who came into the game averaging a collective 30.7 points against SEC competition, only to finish with nine. "You have to credit our bench. Our bench has struggled this year. They've been challenged daily and they were very good. We got contributions from a lot of guys in a game when we probably needed it the most. Hats off to those guys."

Why am I not surprised by that?

A dog-poker.

Things that some fans seem to never take into account...

Their two freshman guards, point man Andrew Nembhard and shooter Noah Locke, are banged up of late, but playing through through the soreness. Nembhard is dealing with tendinitis in his knee, while Locke has some chronic hip pain that has been bothering him for several weeks, but really whacked him pretty good this week. And it's not going away any time soon; not as long as he keeps playing. Trainer Dave Werner has managed the two's reps during practice this week.

Didn't know that about either guy. Locke was definitely off his game vs. Vandy. Missed a bunch of shots he normally makes, plus got beat on defense several times, which was not typical. Nembhard got in early foul trouble and played way fewer minutes than normal and kids tend to reach and foul when they're hurting and can't move like they're used to.

Yep ocala, enough injuries can kill any team's season, and it's not just the season ending injuries either. If a team has enough of the constant nagging injuries across an entire roster, that can destroy continuity. Mike has been making constant adjustments, but there is only so much that any coach can do, especially when his depth at certain positions is so shallow.

I'm still hoping for the guys for this season, but we may all have to wait until next years, fans, players, coaches, to get to where we'd all like to be.

Locke is continuing his struggles against Alabama, while Nembhard is having his best offensive game of the year. We had a 17 point lead with about 13 minutes left in the game, but it's down to 9 win 7 minutes left. Locke has yet to score. K. Johnson is having another big game. Hopefully we can hang on for a good road win.

Gators win 71-53 at Alabama, playing their most complete game of the year IMO. They shot 54% from the field, 11-14 from the free throw line, outrebounded Bama 31-23. Andrew Nembhard scored 21 points, 9-9 from the field. Keyontae Johnson had 14 points and 13 rebounds and KeVaughn Allen had 13 points. Noah Locke didn't score and yet the Gators led from start to finish. Great win.

It's amazing how much better White coaches, and how well his offensive system works,,, when the players are making their shots.
With the #1 Defense in the SEC (UA 51 Pts), the players still have to make some shots to win...

BTW, and ESPN analysis moved the Gators into 'the last 4 in' from 'the last 4 out' column after the win @ Bama. It's still going to be a close call with the Gator's on the bubble...

Lizzerds rank # 13 in the SEC in offense, only 0.4 PPG ahead of Mizzu.( # 267 in D-1.)

How many teams are there in the SEC again?

How many points did that killer tennis-sea offense out score kensucky by? (crickets)

UT scored 15 more points on them than the the Swamp geckos did . And you got to play them at home in front of 800 loyal fans instead of at Rump Arena.

But I suppose you are right. Being in the Top 5 all season and having a 23-2 record ain't anywhere as good as being almost good enough to get an NIT bid with that 14-11 record.

11-1 in the SEC is not where the real power lies. It lies at 6-6 with a loss to the powerhouse South Carolina Chik-ins,

Too bad your basketball program sucks and has never done anything in the tournament. I’m guessing Rick Barnes will do what he does best and fail again in the tourney.

Instant.....What bracket will Mike White and the Lizzerds be in?

Times UF has won back to back Men's B-Ball NC's = 1 :)
Tennis-sea = 0 :(
Choke-la-homo = 0 :(

Times UF has held the Men's NC's in both B-Ball and Football in the same year = 1 :)
Tennis-sea = 0 :(
Choke-la-homo = 0 :(
Every other team in the NCAA = 0

School that leads the entire SEC in All Time Conference Championships?
The Florida Gators academic 'Public Ivy' of course... :p

Mike White, toughest SoS in the SEC.
5 quality wins, ZERO bad losses.
Projected to make the Dance, even with all of the handicaps that he's faced this season.

Just guessing here, but I'd say that Mike's job as UF's B-Ball HC is very safe and secure.
(while the haters and the trolls can bite me... ) :p

.....

FOS as usual

SOS as per the NCAA Net rankings

TAMU - 10
Miss State - 14th sos
LSU - 20
USCjr - 21
UK- 24
Bama - 29
Aubie- 39
UF - 43
Missouri - 44
Arky - 46
UT - 100

I quit looking at teams above a net ranking of 100.

Second, UF has ONE bad loss in Q3 - USCjr

But please don’t start posting truth.... you wouldn’t want to start any bad habits

USC is not a bad loss. Tell me what UF SOS will be after our last game of the season.

No idea - might be much better. I’m just stating what the Feb 19 NCAA Net Ranking Team Sheets show to refute Instas hot gas

RE: USCjr, it’s a Quad 3 loss..... if you think Q3 losses aren’t a bad loss, then Okey dokey

The Tigers (22-5, 11-2), winners of 14 of the previous 15 (including a road upset at Kentucky last week), began the day ranked 14th in the NET metrics system that ultimately will seed the NCAA Tournament, so Florida picked up a pivotal "Quadrant 1" win, its 4th in a league-high 14 such games this season. -- Chris Harry

Phrased incorrectly perhaps, but not a lie on my part. I guess it depends on your point of view... :p
Nobody in the SEC has played more Quad 1 opponents. o_O

USC is a Quad 2 loss I believe. Right now according to Lunardi UF has no bad losses.

So I guess this means that it's the dog-poker that's the constant liar after all....
=====

iG's All Time favorite B-Ball player is Andrew De'Man! He's the Gold Standard for 'a team player with Relentless Effort' o_O

"It just hit me all at once," recalled DeClercq last week. "Everything that we'd been talking about and working for, that's what got us there — and now we were going to the Final Four. I actually took a moment to think about it, right there, on the court. We always talked about playing one play at a time. Win this possession on offense. Win this possession on defense. Win that loose ball.' If we did those things, and if we took care of each other, we'd get where we wanted to go."

Lon Kruger, then BillyD, and now Mike White. The Gator B-Ball program continues to build long term, by 'Finding a Way.'
