Whether he did or didn't is the important thing. Paying someone for a NDA is NOT illegal. NDA happens all the time for various reasons, and NO, it does not mean that you necessarily did something wrong.

From what I have heard, his former lawyer, Cohen paid her, then Trump paid Cohen. Some how, some way, the DA is trying to say this is an illegal campaign donation. There is no legal basis for that determination.

Ok this was not a great statement by DeSantis. The last thing you should do in this situation is use it to take a shot at Trump.

It's a 7 year old case that the feds never brought. Even if the NY DA had jurisdiction, that alone shows you this case isn't winnable.

Well, they can issue an indictment and "arrest" him, but if they try to take him to jail, it becomes gigantic logistical nightmare/disaster with Trump's Secret Service detail.
