UK Game Thread

Not a lot to like, but two things have me smiling tonight:

1. Grier passes the Michi QB mobility test

2. The final UF offensive series solidified that we are NOT going to run the crap Mac ran at Bama

I thought our D stunk according the numbers. Our D is very good. Grier is the best QB on the team. Unfortunately the Oline is terrible. We had 2 true freshmen playing OT a lot of the night in Martez Ivey and Fred Johnson. It's going to take time. Just hope that Grier doesn't get killed behind this oline.

I hope the game against UT isn't on the SEC channel next week. Two weeks in a row of Palmer and Musburger is too much. That was torture.

Just surprised when we had a chance to ice the game and not run it on the 5yd line and goal, doesn't make since to me...

I cannot jump on board with this criticism. For four seasons we have wanted to play the red zone so it wasn't run and run leaving an obvious passing 3rd down.

Great play call, will work more often than not. Defender made a great play.

I do think we're getting it together.

Easy call. First and goal that close? You call play action because everybody expects the run.

The defender made a huge vertical to snag that. The idea is you throw it to where either your guy catches it or it maybe gets tipped. Receiver wasn't deep enough to try and throw it to the back of the end zone. Grier had little choice (yes the option was throw it where no defender could get it but there is no way the receiver could have gotten it)

Grier made some plays that left me in awe (in a good way), but what after his performance makes it so clear cut that he's the best QB on the team? The offense stunk all game. And I counted a minimum of four balls that were put in the chest of defenders. To the point where even before he looked to be injured the announcers were wondering when Treon was gonna go back in the game. People were way more critical of Treon's performances the first two games, and they were not nearly as bad as this performance tonight. I can only imagine what people would be saying if Harris started and we only scores 14 points. Hell even after scoring the clinching TD against ECU and basically winning that game for us we had people on here asking why Grier wasn't the starter lol. It's really funny.

Fine and dandy, but that was a lot of risk in traffic after the struggle to get down there again after 2 quarters.

And to add to my last post, I leave this game more discouraged with the offense than anything. UK's defense isn't good and got lit up by bad offenses their first two games. We couldn't do anything. We got pushed around up front and narrowly avoided like three pick 6's.

If Treon had the exact game Grier just had the post-game chatter would be that Treon proved he isn't the answer. Its kinda becoming the Driskel syndrome, he looks the part of what fits the agenda so let's try to convince everyone he is clearly better.

Grier is the better QB because he is just as mobile as Treon if not more so and he can throw the football better and more accurately. Treon isn't a very good passer. Period. Not sure when or why anybody ever thought Harris was a good passer. What can Harris do that is better than Grier?

Our offensive line is horrible...they can't block anyone...Grier was the leading rusher...that's no bueno

Grier has a stronger arm and a better release, that's without question. But that alone doesn't make a great passer, particularly when you keep putting the ball in the hands of defenders. How many near pick 6's did we have tonight? As Michi stated, if Harris had the same performance Grier had tonight many of you would be saying "see, he's not the answer!" Now the offense goes out and throws up that stinker and after THAT performance you're convinced he's the best QB on the team? A performance where we barely had 200 yards of offense? It's gotten insane. It really is Driskel all over again, I remember everyone convincing themselves of the same thing because he had the big arm and all the physical talent. As to my opinion, I don't think Harris is necessarily better than him. But Grier isn't that much better to where Harris shouldn't see snaps. Like I said, even announcers were wondering why Grier wasn't pulled, he did not play well. I don't think either of these guys are he future of this team. Grier has some rare physical gifts, but if defenders could catch he'd be sitting on about 7 picks in 2.5 games. I don't know what about that is so convincing.
