Peanuts. We used to have over 19M manufacturing jobs. We now have under 13M. I never said we were never adding ANY manufacturing jobs. Manufacturing jobs were added even under Obama during certain periods. The manufacturing jobs that were lost aren’t coming back. New ones are being created, but will never replace the ones lost.

Based on the fact that other countries have build in advantages for commodity manufactured products. That’s just an economic fact. The retail, electronics, clothing, even auto sectors aren’t coming back to their previous glory. Our manufacturing will be focused on specialty, high tech inventions, just in time needs, food manufacturing, and other areas where the distance is a factor. Once things can be more cheaply built overseas, without a distinguishable difference in quality, then companies will move the manufacturing there. It’s the capitalist model. I’ve seen it happen in pretty much every sector.
Every economic study indicates the US will continue to transform into a service, technological and educational society. Tariffs are just spitting into the wind.
