What is the difference between Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance?
Medicare/Medicaid falls under reconciliation because its a budgetary item
Private insurance is not...but that didn't stop republicans from being against ALL price caps
Due to Medicare and Medicaid being government insurance, they can make those cap changes, which they did from my understanding but I could be wrong. What Warnock and the left is trying to do is cap prices through legislation on private insurance companies. Price control shouldn’t even be up for discussion in any legislation unless this government changes to socialism or communism. Ray, if you want to have price control through government intervention, there are some great areas in Venezuela that would love to have you.
Price controls already exist in America...and guess what?
Particularly in drug prices
But your faux outrage & patriotism is amusing

Example of Price Controls
Rent control is one of the most common forms of price control. Government programs establish limits on the maximum amount of rent a property owner can collect from their tenants. These limits are also imposed on annual rent increases. The rationale behind rent control is that it helps keep
housing affordable, especially for more vulnerable people like those with lower
incomes and aging adults.6
Governments commonly impose controls on
drug prices. This is especially true for life-saving and specialty medications like insulin. Drug companies often come under pressure for setting prices too high. Their rationale is normally patent protection and to cover the expensive costs of
research and development (R&D) and distribution. Consumers and governments say this puts certain medications out of reach for the average citizen.1
Minimum wages are considered a form of price control as well. In this case, it is a price floor or the lowest possible salary an employer can pay to their employees. Minimum wages ensure that individuals can maintain a specific
standard of living.2
As it stands, I agree that this country has a huge medical insurance issue. Look into the red tape our government puts on insurance companies. I’m not going to go into the damage the Affordable Health Care Act has caused on this nation but if the government allowed for true market supply and demand, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
Its funny how you like to bring up extraneous topics without ever admitting your facts were wrong about the original topic
There have been plenty of PROs for the Affordable Care Act
That's why its so popular now
When were done with insulin...please feel free to discuss the damage
What has caused this inflation is the severe deficit spending and printing of money from BOTH PARTIES. Lack of a balanced budget or cuts to programs has caused inflation. Going to war with Iraq, Afghanistan or sending billions to countries that are at war with money we don’t have has caused inflation. Bloating government agencies has caused inflation. What hasn’t caused inflation, capping or refusing to cap insulin. Your mindset on every issue is a micro viewpoint when our issues are on a macro level.
OK, so after admitting you were wrong about insulin having NOTHING to do with inflation...your rationale is lower the cost of a medicine used by millions of Americans is a micro viewpoint not worth doing?
I don't think you have a clue how many Americans are on insulin and what the average monthly cost is
Again, you’re focused on capping insulin. Why not, you know, have these people we elect, to be held to, you know, actually doing their job. Ask yourself, why haven’t these elected officials done their job in fixing health insurance in this country? And when I mean fixing healthcare, I’m not talking about government intervention but open capitalism, supply and demand? What big pharma companies donated to re-election campaigns? Name the politicians. Why hasn’t lobbying been outlawed? Dark money? Back room deals? Who does this benefit? Who doesn’t it benefit?
So now you're point is there are bigger issues than insulin?
Is that an excuse for not attempting to fix that problem?
Remember the original issue was you saying it was wrong to say republicans wanted to fix the problem
Now you're arguing its not a big problem and it shouldn't focused on
I told Jason I would stop attacking, I’m living up to that statement. I could have easily ripped you up in this thread but didn’t because I’m actually interested in your point of view. What we are doing is having civil debate.
I guess that was what you were doing asking if I was a diabetic?
You can claim all you want that I’m wrong, you continuously post articles from the media who continue to lie the public. If you were dating a girl and all she did is lie, would you trust her? Why do you continue to trust the media? It’s the same principle and it also applies to government officials and politicians (both parties).
So you post nothing to support what you believe are the facts and your problem is I cite the reporting?
Please tell us the political bias in the reporting:
- Republicans voted 100% against moving the bill
- That insulin costs are part of inflation
- That only 7 out of 50 Republican senators even supported Medicare recipients getting the cap
Media since the invention of the printing press has been biased one way or another
Its always been expected that the reader should discern what is fact and what is opinion. If you don't believe that please tell us when the media was bias free in your opinion.
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water
We don’t need to venture down the BLM issue again, I laid out how it works and all you did was post more lying media articles that didn’t prove anything. You tucked tail and ran from it. End of story!
Lets sum up your ability to debate anything when presented with facts...
The Media is LYING!!! 😢 except if its redstate, Fox News, the gateway pundit, newsmax, infowars, etc.
Does anyone really have to analyze that to come to the conclusion you only accpet media reporting that supports your political view/bias?
I think I'll pull up both posts (tax & BLM) and shred your baseless claims just for fun
