GOP run states (FL, GA, VA) have found nothing but the base continues to claim non-existent fraud

State voter fraud units find little evidence of widespread fraud following midterm election

State-level law enforcement units created after the 2020 presidential election to investigate voter fraud are looking into scattered complaints more than two weeks after the midterms but have provided no indication of systemic problems.

That’s just what election experts had expected and led critics to suggest that the new units were more about politics than rooting out widespread abuses. Most election-related fraud cases are already investigated and prosecuted at the local level.

Florida, Georgia and Virginia created special state-level units after the 2020 election, all pushed by Republican governors, attorneys general or legislatures.

“I am not aware of any significant detection of fraud on Election Day, but that’s not surprising,” said Paul Smith, senior vice president of the Campaign Legal Center. “The whole concept of voter impersonation fraud is such a horribly exaggerated problem. It doesn’t change the outcome of the election, it’s a felony, you risk getting put in jail and you have a high possibility of getting caught. It’s a rare phenomena.”

Facing suspension by governor, Broward's election chief calls it quits

Facing the likelihood of an embarrassing removal from office, Broward County’s much-maligned elections supervisor, Brenda Snipes, announced Sunday she will resign following a string of controversies plaguing her office before and since Election Day.
Had she not quit, she faced the likelihood of being forced into retirement, POLITICO first reported last week, either by outgoing Gov. Rick Scott or incoming Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis, after Broward County became the poster child for another botched Florida election.

To be fair, Twitter and CNN were owned/run by left-leaning figures up until very recently. And most of those other outlets are crackpot reactionary sites.

Jack Dorsey financially donated to Tulsi Gabbard & Andrew Yang

Most rightwing media operations are crackpot sites
Murdoch also owns NY Post, Wall St Journal, Sky, etc.

National Review, Reason, Forbes, the Atlantic... all owned by conservative/libertarians

So was Luce able to vote in GA? No.

So if you wanted to prove that candidates could waste their time because of out-of-date voter databases...fine

How exactly would a incorrect list that shows him as an eligible voter in GA matter?

He wasn't eligible to vote

Stop focusing on an agenda and start using common sense.

VW just published a study that it takes between 60k-100k miles before an electric car’s carbon footprint breaks even with a fuel efficient gas vehicle.

Check ads for used Teslas. People don’t put many miles on them (mostly because their range is limited) and way too many need a new battery by the time they hit the break even point.

Windmills are a major waste and recycling issue and are harmful to wildlife.

Solar panels are impossible to dispose of and pollute when you make them.

All use lithium batteries to work, which pollute underdeveloped counties and use slave labor. VW report cited it takes 500k tons of mining to produce 1 electric car battery. We can’t mine for those rare earth minerals here because of environmental regulations.

To power Europe on alternate energy sources it would take $100T in batteries that would take the current industry 400 years to manufacture. We are chasing a fantasy.

What should we do?
1) Invest in nuclear, it’s clean and safe but it takes 10-15 years to bring new plants online.
2) Focus on water table contamination (such as PFAS) and start work on cleaning up the Texas sized plastic graveyard in the ocean. We are already finding microscopic plastics in human tissue.
3) Continue to work on alternative fuels for cars like hydrogen. Carbon emissions take too much blame but cleaning up the air isn’t a bad thing.
4) More focus on recycling. We are going backwards, I can’t even recycle LDPE film or glass where I live.
5) Alternative materials for many of the products we use that don’t pollute and will naturally degrade.
Turn plastic into gasoline:

So you'll only accept cases that have been handled, adjudicated or otherwise put to bed in the last 3 weeks?

Goofball.

No. But ignoring what's happened since shouldn't be ignored either...right goofball?

Funny how DeSantis never mentioned the GOP party election fraud huh?

Candidate pleads guilty in alleged Florida vote scam
By TERRY SPENCER
August 24, 2021

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A sham candidate for the Florida Legislature pleaded guilty Tuesday to being part of a vote siphoning scheme in last year’s election and will testify against a former Republican state senator who prosecutors say ran it.

Alex Rodríguez agreed to testify against former Sen. Frank Artiles after pleading guilty in Miami-Dade County to accepting illegal campaign donations and lying on campaign documents. He will receive three years probation if he cooperates, including a year of house arrest. He had faced a possible 20-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors charged Artiles in March with felony campaign fraud charges, saying he secretly gave more than $44,000 to Rodriguez so that he could run in the 2020 election to confuse voters and siphon ballots from then-Democratic incumbent, Sen. Jose Javier Rodríguez. The funds allegedly came from a dark money source. Artiles has pleaded not guilty.

Early voting ahead of the U.S. Senate runoff election between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker began in several Georgia counties over the weekend with a patchwork of start dates and times.

Statewide early voting for all 159 counties begins today and ends Friday, Dec. 2 with runoff Election Day on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Gabriel Sterling from the Georgia Secretary of State's office said that weekend turnout totaled nearly 200,000.

Lines varied by county, with densely populated areas experiencing wait times of up to two hours or more on Saturday and Sunday.

A Resonant Topic in Georgia's Senate Runoff: Insulin Prices
Rick Rojas
Thu, December 1, 2022 at 2:31 PM

MACON, Ga. — The runoff election for Senate in Georgia has not lacked for drama, with a fresh round of attack ads, a fevered get-out-the-vote effort and both sides casting the outcome as pivotal for the nation’s future even though control of the chamber is no longer at stake.

But one campaign issue relevant to many voters has little to do with the highly partisan horse race. Rather, it involves one of the most common chronic diseases in the U.S., diabetes, and the soaring cost of the medicine used to treat it, insulin. In both the general and runoff campaigns, Sen. Raphael Warnock, the Democratic incumbent, has made much of his efforts in Congress to cap the price of insulin at $35 a month, talking them up in ads, debates and speeches.

“It has resonated with just about everyone,” said Dr. Kris Ellis, a physician who also owns the Bearfoot Tavern in Macon, where Warnock made a recent campaign stop. “If you don’t have diabetes, you know someone with diabetes.”

He was describing an unsettling reality in Georgia, as in much of the South, where diabetes rates are staggeringly high and the escalating cost of insulin over the years has led to painful choices and, for some, catastrophic consequences.

“I have someone in my family with diabetes who couldn’t afford insulin,” Tony Brown, 57, said on a recent afternoon as he walked into a building in downtown Macon where he works as an engineer. For that reason, he said, he would turn out one more time to vote for Warnock in Tuesday’s runoff.

Good on Warnock, what he’s advocating for will never happen. Too much money in big pharma and they’re in the back pockets of both parties.

I do think it’s a stretch that you say republicans don’t care, many republican politicians have advocated for lower prescriptions/healthcare but at the end of the day, no one is truly serious about it.

Levers of power, big pharma pulls on their lever whenever they see fit.

He accomplished NONE of those

Even If GOP Wins Majorities In House And Senate, Inflation Reduction Act’s Drug Pricing Provisions Won’t Be Repealed Any Time Soon (Or Ever)

On the campaign trail, several ranking House Republicans have expressed their desire to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, including its drug pricing provisions. For example, Representative Brady (R-TX; Ranking Member, Ways and Means Committee) said that “because those drug provisions are so dangerous… I would imagine [repealing the Inflation Reduction Act’s prescription drug policies] will be a top priority for Republicans in the new session.” Brady specifically cited the alleged detrimental effects direct price negotiations between Medicare and drug manufacturers could have on drug development and innovation.

But, even if Republicans gain majorities in the House and Senate in today’s midterms, the Inflation Reduction Act won’t be repealed any time soon. In fact, it’s unlikely the Act will ever be fully reversed. Most of the drug pricing provisions, in particular, will likely remain on the books permanently.

While a GOP-led House and Senate could formally repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, for the next 26 months they would face a President who wields veto power. Therefore, no matter what happens in the midterms, 2025 would be the earliest Republicans could take action to successfully rescind the law.

By then, however, many of the Act’s provisions will have been implemented, at least to a large degree. At that point, according to Senator Cassidy (R-LA), “there’s actually little that can be done to claw back the funding. ... The money has largely left Congress’ purview.” This means that, supposing a Republican wins the presidency in the 2024 election, there would still be a steep uphill battle to overturn the legislation.

I’ve also told you many times that I hate both sides but you still lump me in with Trump and MAGA, when will you ever learn?

You’ve got to move on from the Trump thing bud, it’s old news. You can jump right back on it if he gets the nominee.

He was your last elected POTUS and is the only GOP nominee for 2024

Wrong.

He's the conservative choice for POTUS and he's pretty much run the GOP since he got bounced from office in 2020

The GOP has one leader on the national stage and that person is donald j trump

But I find it hilarious how you want to disassociate yourself from your party's defacto leader...

Define libertarian

2020 - Trump
2016 - Didn’t Vote
2012 - Didn’t Vote
2008 - Obama

What’s your point?

You've never voted in anything but presidential elections?

No federal senate or house campaigns?
No state senate or house campaigns?

Never voted for a Libertarian candidate for POTUS?

Libertarians have had some of their most recognizable candidates run for president recently and you didn't vote for any of them?

I voted for one democrat and one republican and didn’t like what I saw in between.

Now define libertarian

2008 - Bob Barr (Libertarian)
2012 & 2016 - Gary Johnson (Libertarian)

Do you really think people don't know what being a libertarian means?
OK...you favor as minimal government intervention in your life

Good lord, I posted my voting record to show you that I have voted for both republicans and democrats.

I've voted for republicans and democrats also (Reagan 84)...And?

I asked the question because you said it was wrong to blame republicans for not caring about drug pricing..insulin in particular. But the evidence is 100% clear that republicans are the reason why the insulin cap was blocked in Congress.

You can claim to be a disciple of whatever political philosophy that you want but in the last decade you've voted for only for trump. If that isn't a accurate representation of your voting record then that's on you because you provided very little of your voting record.

Where did I say that I only vote in presidential elections? Please point it out, bold my words or my sentence where I claimed that. I want the board to to be able to see it.

I asked you who you have voted for and you provided 2 presidential elections
So you provided a very limited record and its my fault?

What's really peculiar is that you voted for Obama 14 years ago and then didn't vote for POTUS again until 2020.

What made you vote for trump AFTER he was POTUS for 4 years if you aren't trumper?

Certainly wasn't your Libertarian ideals as trump expanded government intervention in all facets

It is not clear, you’re using sources that are slanted to the left.

Here is why the republicans declined the insulin cap:

1. The insulin cap was included with the Inflation Reduction Act. What does insulin have to do with inflation? Nothing, nothing at all.

2. The insulin cap doesn’t fall under a reconciliation bill threshold. Meaning, the cap would have to go through budgetary legislation.

3. 7 republicans voted for the cap so to say republicans don’t care is funny. However, it was just 7 republicans so it has finite bipartisan support.

4. This point ties into point two. I’ll bold the next statement so you can see I’m stressing my point. Both parties do this, Warnock and the left tried to slip this into a bill that has nothing to do with each other. This type of legislation needs to stop. It was horrible during the Bush administrations all the way to now. These new bills or acts that are extremely bloated with this crap is a cheap way to get the Senate and House to sit down and champion for money for things that do not even solve the issue at hand. Just to make you feel better, Trump was horrible at the end of his term using these same tactics. DC is drunk on spending money and it needs to stop.

Just a few of my opinions and why I’m not a fan of either party currently.

1. 99.9% of the country’s issues could be solved very quickly if both parties were serious about solving the issues. Instead, we pay six figure salaries to people who work maybe a week a month.

2. Both parties do a phenomenal job at pointing the finger at each other and blaming. I don’t see one adult between the two parties who have fessed up to their corruption and actually put forth an effort to sit down and solve issues together. Instead, these tactics are designed to continue to divide the country and they love it when we fight. This will tear the country apart and we will have another Civil War if this continues.

3. It is vital that a balanced budget is put into place. You can’t keep raising taxes on business and the people to continue reckless spending. We’ve had 22 years of wasted spending, it needs to stop.

4. The Fed, as much as I find them useless, needs to keep raising the prime rate to level off the inflation.

I’ll stop here, I could go on for days. With that said, I can have civil conversations with anyone, @kalimgoodman can attest to this. I don’t mind debating or talking issues with you Ray but you do seem very polarized to the left and think they do no wrong. This does blind you from the actual truth and not narratives that are pushed on purpose.

It is not clear, you’re using sources that are slanted to the left.

Here is why the republicans declined the insulin cap:

1. The insulin cap was included with the Inflation Reduction Act. What does insulin have to do with inflation? Nothing, nothing at all.

Nothing at all? 🤣

Drug prices aren't included in inflation?
That's an interesting belief...tell that to a diabetic senior

2. The insulin cap doesn’t fall under a reconciliation bill threshold. Meaning, the cap would have to go through budgetary legislation.

The cap FOR ALL didn't fall under budget reconciliation

That's why the cap was passed for those on Medicare because that was a budget item

3. 7 republicans voted for the cap so to say republicans don’t care is funny. However, it was just 7 republicans so it has finite bipartisan support.

7 out of 50 means republicans wanted to cap insulin costs for private insurers? 🤣

The GOP was given an opportunity to make the cap global and 100% voted any amendments down.

To even get the cap in for government insurance (Medicare) it required VP Harris to break the tie because the entire GOP wanted to kill the cap for everybody

Outside of getting the facts of the cap's passage WRONG (insulin costs in the budget (Medicare) were capped) the fact that the GOP eventually 100% voted against any amendments to make the cap good for everybody reinforces my point.

Senators have been working through the weekend on amendment votes after the chamber advanced the bill Saturday in a 51-50 procedural vote, with all Republicans opposing the motion to proceed with the bill and Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote.

Who isn't having a civil conversation?

You're just upset that your "facts" are wrong and you make conclusions that are contradictory to the actual facts

Before you make more baseless accusations about my position maybe you should at least get your facts right about the issue...it makes any debate worthless if you can't prove your claims while all I do is keep supplying citations that support mine

BTW - That's why I didn't bother responding on the tax or BLM Pac discussion because I found myself just responding to your baseless claims in those two discussions also

Nothing at all? 🤣

Drug prices aren't included in inflation?
That's an interesting belief...tell that to a diabetic senior

The cap FOR ALL didn't fall under budget reconciliation

That's why the cap was passed for those on Medicare because that was a budget item

Outside of getting the facts of the cap's passage WRONG (insulin costs in the budget (Medicare) were capped) the fact that the GOP eventually 100% voted against any amendments to make the cap good for everybody reinforces my point.

What is the difference between Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance?

Due to Medicare and Medicaid being government insurance, they can make those cap changes, which they did from my understanding but I could be wrong. What Warnock and the left is trying to do is cap prices through legislation on private insurance companies. Price control shouldn’t even be up for discussion in any legislation unless this government changes to socialism or communism. Ray, if you want to have price control through government intervention, there are some great areas in Venezuela that would love to have you.

As it stands, I agree that this country has a huge medical insurance issue. Look into the red tape our government puts on insurance companies. I’m not going to go into the damage the Affordable Health Care Act has caused on this nation but if the government allowed for true market supply and demand, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

What has caused this inflation is the severe deficit spending and printing of money from BOTH PARTIES. Lack of a balanced budget or cuts to programs has caused inflation. Going to war with Iraq, Afghanistan or sending billions to countries that are at war with money we don’t have has caused inflation. Bloating government agencies has caused inflation. What hasn’t caused inflation, capping or refusing to cap insulin. Your mindset on every issue is a micro viewpoint when our issues are on a macro level.

Again, you’re focused on capping insulin. Why not, you know, have these people we elect, to be held to, you know, actually doing their job. Ask yourself, why haven’t these elected officials done their job in fixing health insurance in this country? And when I mean fixing healthcare, I’m not talking about government intervention but open capitalism, supply and demand? What big pharma companies donated to re-election campaigns? Name the politicians. Why hasn’t lobbying been outlawed? Dark money? Back room deals? Who does this benefit? Who doesn’t it benefit?

I told Jason I would stop attacking, I’m living up to that statement. I could have easily ripped you up in this thread but didn’t because I’m actually interested in your point of view. What we are doing is having civil debate.

You can claim all you want that I’m wrong, you continuously post articles from the media who continue to lie the public. If you were dating a girl and all she did is lie, would you trust her? Why do you continue to trust the media? It’s the same principle and it also applies to government officials and politicians (both parties).

We don’t need to venture down the BLM issue again, I laid out how it works and all you did was post more lying media articles that didn’t prove anything. You tucked tail and ran from it. End of story!

What is the difference between Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance?

Medicare/Medicaid falls under reconciliation because its a budgetary item

Private insurance is not...but that didn't stop republicans from being against ALL price caps

Price controls already exist in America...and guess what?
Particularly in drug prices

But your faux outrage & patriotism is amusing

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/price-controls.asp

Example of Price Controls

Rent control is one of the most common forms of price control. Government programs establish limits on the maximum amount of rent a property owner can collect from their tenants. These limits are also imposed on annual rent increases. The rationale behind rent control is that it helps keep housing affordable, especially for more vulnerable people like those with lower incomes and aging adults.6

Governments commonly impose controls on drug prices. This is especially true for life-saving and specialty medications like insulin. Drug companies often come under pressure for setting prices too high. Their rationale is normally patent protection and to cover the expensive costs of research and development (R&D) and distribution. Consumers and governments say this puts certain medications out of reach for the average citizen.1

Minimum wages are considered a form of price control as well. In this case, it is a price floor or the lowest possible salary an employer can pay to their employees. Minimum wages ensure that individuals can maintain a specific standard of living.2

Its funny how you like to bring up extraneous topics without ever admitting your facts were wrong about the original topic

There have been plenty of PROs for the Affordable Care Act
That's why its so popular now

When were done with insulin...please feel free to discuss the damage

What has caused this inflation is the severe deficit spending and printing of money from BOTH PARTIES. Lack of a balanced budget or cuts to programs has caused inflation. Going to war with Iraq, Afghanistan or sending billions to countries that are at war with money we don’t have has caused inflation. Bloating government agencies has caused inflation. What hasn’t caused inflation, capping or refusing to cap insulin. Your mindset on every issue is a micro viewpoint when our issues are on a macro level.

OK, so after admitting you were wrong about insulin having NOTHING to do with inflation...your rationale is lower the cost of a medicine used by millions of Americans is a micro viewpoint not worth doing?

I don't think you have a clue how many Americans are on insulin and what the average monthly cost is

So now you're point is there are bigger issues than insulin?
Is that an excuse for not attempting to fix that problem?

Remember the original issue was you saying it was wrong to say republicans wanted to fix the problem

Now you're arguing its not a big problem and it shouldn't focused on

I told Jason I would stop attacking, I’m living up to that statement. I could have easily ripped you up in this thread but didn’t because I’m actually interested in your point of view. What we are doing is having civil debate.

I guess that was what you were doing asking if I was a diabetic?

You can claim all you want that I’m wrong, you continuously post articles from the media who continue to lie the public. If you were dating a girl and all she did is lie, would you trust her? Why do you continue to trust the media? It’s the same principle and it also applies to government officials and politicians (both parties).

So you post nothing to support what you believe are the facts and your problem is I cite the reporting?

Please tell us the political bias in the reporting:

  • Republicans voted 100% against moving the bill
  • That insulin costs are part of inflation
  • That only 7 out of 50 Republican senators even supported Medicare recipients getting the cap

Media since the invention of the printing press has been biased one way or another

Its always been expected that the reader should discern what is fact and what is opinion. If you don't believe that please tell us when the media was bias free in your opinion.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water

We don’t need to venture down the BLM issue again, I laid out how it works and all you did was post more lying media articles that didn’t prove anything. You tucked tail and ran from it. End of story!

Lets sum up your ability to debate anything when presented with facts...

The Media is LYING!!! 😢 except if its redstate, Fox News, the gateway pundit, newsmax, infowars, etc.

Does anyone really have to analyze that to come to the conclusion you only accpet media reporting that supports your political view/bias?

I think I'll pull up both posts (tax & BLM) and shred your baseless claims just for fun

You’re upset that republicans said no on price caps for insulin, where was your outrage when the republicans wanted to fix prescription prices or healthcare? You’re talking about insulin, I’m now referring to all healthcare? Micro vs macro, see the difference?

I actually do know second hand as i have two people who report to me who have diabetes. I see their struggle and I see the lengths they go to get their insulin. With that said, you cap insulin and the companies that make the insulin will sell elsewhere or they stop making it. These companies are not bound by law to make insulin. That then causes shortages and now everyone who needs insulin suffers and dies. Will you condemn the left when people die?

You also get outraged on a short term fix because the republicans don’t want to play ball. The left rarely looks at the long term solution. Instead, the left wants to slip this into an inflation bill and raise taxes to pay for it. Not only are you capping the price but now charging more taxes on businesses to pay for the bill. So you’ve just limited profits and took more money from them, great job.

Then, the left goes to the media, screams outrage and how the republicans are the devil and want to kill everyone. You read it, get enraged because you hate republicans and run to this board and post. You understand how you’re doing their bidding for free in a false pretense of shaming republicans, right? Meanwhile, Warnock could give two shits less about insulin because all he wants is to keep his seat and scream outrage.

So that leaves us with you rooting for people who don’t truly care about the people or their needs, taking tax payer money for a job they have to work one week out of the month on average and trying to cap insulin when the healthcare system as whole needs to be fixed. With all that said, that leaves you, your outrage and this burning need to be right all the time. Then shame republicans as you go on your internet crusade.

So let’s recap my positions so that you are very very clear on where I stand.

1. You grouped all republicans together and said they don’t care about people because they won’t agree to cap insulin. I told you that 7 Republican senators voted for the bill initially, that is bipartisan support. Not enough bipartisan support and not enough to get to 60 in order to pass it obviously. Technically, you are wrong about your assessment on not having republican support but I digress.

2. Insulin doesn’t cause a rise in inflation. This is true, you can’t expect that a vial of insulin would cause current inflation, it’s impossible. I then rambled off a list of reasons why this country has high inflation. I specifically stated that the goal would be to fix healthcare problem that directly correlates to insulin.

Micro vs Macro

3. Price controls are horrible… period. Wages, housing, medical, etc. let the market dictate price.

4. I asked you if you were diabetic as it would help me understand your outrage for this particular issue. If you are diabetic, it makes sense.

5. Ray, this really isn’t hard to understand. I question all news sources and typically wait 48 hrs before I read any outlet. Take two apposing political media outlets, read them both, where they correlate (similar) is usually the truth, everything else is garbage. I know you have this idea that I sit and watch Fox News, newsmax, etc. and that’s how I formulate my opinions, it’s not. When I have time, I have a huge list of places I grab info from and compare all.

What I see you doing is you hear or see something that piques your interest, read lefty news sources and come hear post them. I have seen nothing from you that would tell me that you actually research topics from all sides to formulate your opinion. I read a lot of echo chamber articles when you’re thumping your chest claiming you are right. Just an opinion bud.

You’re upset that republicans said no on price caps for insulin, where was your outrage when the republicans wanted to fix prescription prices or healthcare? You’re talking about insulin, I’m now referring to all healthcare? Micro vs macro, see the difference?

When did republicans want to fix prescription prices or healthcare again?

I actually do know second hand as i have two people who report to me who have diabetes. I see their struggle and I see the lengths they go to get their insulin. With that said, you cap insulin and the companies that make the insulin will sell elsewhere or they stop making it. These companies are not bound by law to make insulin. You have a simpleton's misunderstanding of business, markets, and drug pricing
But educating you would take a lifetime and I don't have that much time to waste

But rest assured the profit margins for generic insulin would attract a lot of companies to fill the void

If you want to learn more about generic insulin and why its not widely available go here:

https://www.healthline.com/diabetesmine/why-is-there-no-generic-insulin

Here's a report on what the states are trying to do about insulin prices because the drug companies are gouging the American taxpayer

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...pharmaceutical-companies-are-pushing-n1236766
States are trying to cap the price of insulin. Pharmaceutical companies are pushing back.
The drug industry has fought some state efforts to make insulin more affordable to people who are on Medicare or lack health insurance.

Tennessee state Rep. Jason Hodges wanted to do something about the soaring cost of insulin. He learned that in the United States, the average list price for insulin tripled from 2002 to 2013 and then doubled from 2012 to 2016, forcing some diabetics to spend as much as $1,200 a month. So he wrote a bill to forbid any pharmacy in Tennessee from charging more than $100 for a 30-day insulin supply, thinking that would force drug companies to lower their prices.

As Hodges, a Democrat, prepared in March to file his bill, he was approached by a lobbyist for Eli Lilly & Co., one of the three multinational drug companies that make insulin for U.S. patients. The lobbyist handed him an amendment, Hodges told FairWarning, and said one of his co-sponsors had already signed off on the changes.

“I'm the sponsor of the dang bill, I haven't agreed to anything,” Hodges remembers responding. Eli Lilly’s proposal also would have capped the monthly cost of insulin at $100, but only for diabetics with health insurance. It offered nothing for the uninsured. Knowing that many of the people struggling to afford insulin in Tennessee are uninsured, Hodges rejected the changes. He says the lobbyist, Estie Harris, warned that Eli Lilly would fight the bill unless he reconsidered. Harris did not respond to messages from FairWarning.

Insulin, which was invented 100 years ago and costs less than $10 a vial to produce, according to one study, has become a symbol of the federal government’s failure to control the cost of prescription drugs. As diabetes became an epidemic in the United States, researchers found that manufacturers Eli Lilly, Sanofi and Novo Nordisk drastically increased the list price of their medications; Eli Lilly’s popular Humalog injections are now listed at $275 a vial for American consumers. In Canada, that same vial goes for $32.

More proof you have no clue about inflation in general or the reduction act in particular

Compared to who? The GOP who didn't want to lower insulin costs?

While you're being verbose and displaying some more faux outrage remember what the initial discussion was..."Don't blame the republicans for not caring"

Please show us what republicans have done or are doing in the area of healthcare in the last decade

Technically, you are wrong about your assessment on not having republican support but I digress.

7 republicans DID NOT vote for the bill initially...They all voted against it
It took Kamala Harris to break the 50-50 tie

Then after rejecting all amendments 7 voted in favor to look good when it was obvious the bill would pass under reconciliation. Some of those you don't even consider republicans like Murkowski

Another prime example of how you don't even know what occurred but have built a house of stupid beliefs because of your lack of knowledge of something as simple as the fact of the voting that occurred

🤣 bill confuses the causes of inflation with inflation itself and doesn't understand the difference

Sure it would be great if republicans had a healthcare plan (they don't)

But while they work hard to destroy Obamacare (they haven't succeeded) bill's genius idea is to do nothing at all

Keep waiting on the GOP's answer to healthcare...you lose elections while waiting for trump's imaginary, non-existent "better than Obamacare" plan

Micro vs Macro

3. Price controls are horrible… period. Wages, housing, medical, etc. let the market dictate price.

But you claimed America be socialist or communist if price controls were even discussed. The laugh here is that you DID NOT KNOW price controls have existed in America for almost century now

Ignorance on display

Price control shouldn’t even be up for discussion in any legislation unless this government changes to socialism or communism. Ray, if you want to have price control through government intervention, there are some great areas in Venezuela that would love to have you.

4. I asked you if you were diabetic as it would help me understand your outrage for this particular issue. If you are diabetic, it makes sense.

What outrage? 🤣

I merely stated a fact....Warnock is in touch with what the average person in GA wants & needs

You're the wacko that started making false statements about a whole slew of topics

So ultimately you read the media, right?
Even though you claim its lying to you...

I guess waiting 48hrs makes the lying cooties go away? 🤣

In a forum of really wacky people...you're one of the wackiest 🤣

What I see you doing is you hear or see something that piques your interest, read lefty news sources and come hear post them. I have seen nothing from you that would tell me that you actually research topics from all sides to formulate your opinion. I read a lot of echo chamber articles when you’re thumping your chest claiming you are right. Just an opinion bud.

Yeah an uninformed opinion

Since your 48hr contact period with the truth has long expired here maybe its a good time to get a clue about what you're talking about
