To claim that they were "badly misled"? Sorry - do your job. You want to press Trump on things like Tariffs, etc. - great. Go do it. Freedom of speech and press is important.

But if they want to know why their readership is dropping like a rock - it's exactly for these reasons.

I happen to think that the NYT is very elegantly written. I used to read it a lot back in the 80s and 90s. Now, I trust virtually nothing that is printed. It's not healthy, but I am not alone. And my reasons are fact based.

Many of them knew it was very likely a manipulated virus easily jumping to so many species like that but they weren't about to let it get in the way of making the populace more accepting of tyrannical measures being placed on them by threatening freedom and employment etc. Here in FL I was shocked how many Reps went along with the BS and really bought their lies also about the vaccine preventing the spread of the virus and all that crap. I seemed for a while only the Trump base of the Rep party was not falling for this mess.
