Today was admittedly a very problematic loss, but it isn’t gonna surprise sadgator if they find a way to scrap their way in...

They have enough talent that the light bulb could come on and they could play up to the remaining teams...

I still think White's a good coach but he's taken a lot of criticism, not only on message boards, but from sports writers and commentators who follow Gator BB, about his 2nd half slowdown tactics and down the stretch substitutions.

As for this year's team, I think they're toast. 10 losses with 4 tough games left. They may lose all 4. Just something went off the rails this year and they're not very good anymore.

Well our final four games are decent teams so a split of the 4 games should set us up to get in for sure as long as we win at least one conference tourney game but if we were to only go 9-9 in conference it will take a run to the final game in the SEC tourney to get in probably. We are all the way down to # 63 in the RPI now.

We almost lost to Vandy at home a few weeks ago.

I was happy to see UGA beat the Vols.

SEC BB is crazy this year....

Well that’s fine but you have to play offense and defense in basketball. Hill was 2nd team all SEC because the coaches who vote understand that there’s more to the game than shooting jumpers. The results on the court speak for themselves. And I agree that Chiozza is a better pg, but he was on the team last year and played pretty much the same minutes as hill and Allen.

Not sure what was worse watching Hill self destruct at the end of games in the regular season last year or watching this slow down mess White pulls all the time causing us to lose games where we had 2nd half double digit leads.

Agreed. This is what is so maddening about this team and White. This is a much, MUCH better offensive team than last year. In most first halves, White plays to that strength and we often have decent leads going in the the 2nd half. But too often White slows the game down that plays to the weakness of the team , which is poor defense and half court offense, rather than the strengths, which is up and down offense.

Playing good defense in the second half made last year's team special. White insists on doing it this year, when this group of guys are just not capable,

Not sure why White is so hard headed trying a losing strategy over and over again.. At least with Hill last year you had the psych excuse for keeping him in there at the end of tight games even though he couldn't hit the side of a barn on clutch shots it seemed but we were still winning games at least and it corrected itself in the dance.

We won't even make the dance this year probably if White doesn't cut the crap out. We have lost 5 games I think where we had double digit second half leads.

I doubt we’ll beat Bama on the road, but the rest are pretty much coinflips. We’ll probably be slight to medium dogs in each of them. Maybe pk or small favorites vs Auburn and/or UK. Sounds like 2-2 and an SECT win or two might do the trick. Tough but by no means impossible. Full credit to coach if he closes out 2-2.

I just recall just two seasons ago Florida had a full court press that was the bomb. Why aren't they even using that? They have speed all over the court and I don't understand why Coach White is not utilizing that speed.

Yep I think 20 wins gets us in the tourney. 2-2 and one SEC tournament win would get us in for sure I think. If we messed around and went 1-3 we would need to make the final game of the SEC tourney to get in probably.

That’s a Mike White issue. He’s the one that brought in Hudson and Egor and hasn’t been able to make it work and have these guys coexist. Poor coaching decisions that has also led to poor team chemistry.

So my decision to watch softball & baseball, bypass the basketball game and spend quality time with the wife of 42+ years was a wise one, I see. Watching the finale of the Amazing Race and then listening to a Jason Isbell CD was MUCH better than watching the UF basketball team suck again. Get with it people. Move on!!
