Mann, Locke, Glover Gone - Who's Next?

Unless Texas or Oklahoma hires Mike White, a way below .500 record is certain at UF under Mike White.

What in the hell is going on over there....goodness.

Crazy - I wonder if White could be forced out now even though they were naive and gave him an extension last season. If he had another coaching job to take I could possibly see it happening.

Mike White's 1st recruiting class was for the 2015-16 season. He got three 4-star players: KeVaughn Allen, Kevarious Hayes & Keith Stone. Allen & Hayes played their entire 4-year careers at Florida. Stone transferred to Miami after the 2019 season and played 18 games before ending his career with a knee injury.

The 2016 recruiting class had 3 3-star players: Gorjan Gak, Eric Hester and Dontay Bassett, plus transfers Jalen Hudson and Canyon Berry. From the 2015-16 team, Erik Murphy transferred to Northeastern, DeVon Walker transferred to Troy and Brandon Francis transferred to Texas Tech and helped beat us in the NCAA's. Gak had ongoing knee problems and never was a factor at Florida, transferring and playing every game this year at California Baptist where he averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds per game. Hester transferred to Akron after his freshman year at Florida, sat out a year, didn't play in 2018-19, played at Tallahassee CC last season and at Prairie View this year. Dontay Bassett never developed much at Florida over 3 years and this year played for Weber State where he averaged 9 points and 7 rebounds per game.

The 2017 recruiting class had 4 star DeAundree Ballard and 3-stars Chase Johnson, Isaiah Stokes & Mike Okuru, plus grad transfer from Rice Egor Koulechov. Ballard transferred after the 2019 season to South Alabama, redshirting last year and opting out of this year. Johnson transferred to Dayton after the 2019 season to play for Anthony Grant, but had the same concussion/headache issues he had at Florida. He missed a lot of games and then gave up basketball this past December. Stokes transferred to Memphis after the 2019 season, redshirtted last year and was suspended for this season by coach Penny Hardaway. Okuru transferred to UNC-Wilmington after the 2019 season where he's been a starter for them the past 2 seasons.

The 2018 recruiting class had 5-star Andrew Nembhard and 4-stars Noah Locke & Keyontae Johnson. Nembhard is a starting guard for Gonzaga this year, Locke is in the portal and God only know what will happen with Johnson.

The 2019 class had 5 stars Scottie Lewis, & Tre Mann, 4 star Omar Payne, 3 stars Jason Jitobah & Ques Glover and 2 star Alex Klatsky. We also, got incoming transfers Anthony Duruji from Louisiana Tech, Kerry Blackshear from Virginia Tech and Tyree Appleby from Cleveland State. Payne & Glover are in the portal, Mann is going to the NBA.

The 2020 class had 4 star Samson Ruzhentsev and 3-stars Neils Lane and Osayi Osifo (a JC transfer), plus walk on Jack May. Osifo is in the portal.

Players who have graduated since 2015-16 are: Dorian Finney-Smith, Kasey Hill, Justin Leon, Schuyler Rimmer, Egor Koulechov, John Egbunu, Chris Chiozza, Jalen Hudson, KeVaughn Allen, Kevarious Hayes and Mike Krause (walk-on),

I didn't include the other transfers in we've gotten during the last 6 years, but it's obvious that a ton of our original high school signees have left the program and gone elsewhere. Not good.

Yep I am thinking Allen and Hayes were White's when they signed even though Donovan had been recruiting them I think.

2015-16 Taking over a loser 16-17 team:
2015-16 - 21-15, 9-9 SEC, NIT Quarter Finalist with zero earned home games.
Beat tOSU in their house along the way.

2016-17 - 27-9, 14-4 SEC, Elite-8 - SEC CoY, joining his MWC & AAC CoY Awards.
2017-18 - 21-13, 11-7 SEC, Rnd of 32 - Lost C Egbunu in Feb
2018-19 - 20-16, 9-9 SEC, Rnd of 32 - C Gak never recovered, Grad-xfer
2019-20 - 19-12, 11-7 SEC - Projected NCAA Tourney, Scamdemic Canceled

2020-21 - Lost SEC Pre-season PoY in 4th game. Had to redesign offense on the run.
Many cancelled games due to Fraud Socialist Scamdemic.
15-10, 9-7 SEC, NCAA Rnd of 32

Mike White's Record at UF - 123-75 (.621), 63-43 SEC (.594)
~~ Never a losing record overall or in the SEC.

Post Season Tourney every year, never a one & done.
NIT - Elite-8 - 4 Consecutive NCAA's with at least Rnd of 32 finishes.

Current Projected 2021-22 Roster: Some come, some go, every year.

PG Tyree Appleby
PG Jack May

CG/SF Scottie Lewis
CG Kowacle Reeves

SG Niels Lane
SG Alex Klatsky

PF Keyontae Johnson - Praying for his full recovery.
PF Anthony Duruji - UF PoY imo.

F/C Colin Castleton - testing NBA draft waters
(iG's opinion, he needs to add 20+ pounds and another year)

C Jason Jitoboh - He has skills, but he needs to lose 35 pounds and run.
(personal responsibility, if the wants to meet his potential)

JMOHO of course, but good riddance to the selfish non-team players.
May they all go and successfully foul some other teams nest....
Everyone in the xfer portal should have all team privileges and their ships cancelled. I will admit to missing Noah Locke, although game to game inconsistent, I've always liked him. He might be a Grad-xfer by summer?

IF, if the UAA/AD bow to idiot entitled fans, then multi-millionaire Mike will have been done a favor by getting him out of Socialist-U. He can walk away laughing at the dweebs, as I'm doing right now....

Insta,
I applaud your loyalty to Coach Mike White and optimism towards the basketball team but this is not a couple of players not getting playing time. This is one more player from a full blown mutiny. I would like to know what is going on. I hope we find out and can get this straightened out.

According to GatorSports.com Scottie Lewis, Niels Lane and Samson Ruzhentsev are weighing their options and haven't decided yet about their futures at UF. Only Appleby, Duruji, Jitobah and Castleton (if he's not drafted) have solidly committed to return for next season.

Maybe Mike White just came right out and told these players they were the problem like Insta has said as White can't shoot the ball for them or make them not "tired" during games and told them it may be best if they just moved on.

This is insane even in a crazy transfer heavy year. Two would be one thing but no reason there should ever be a transfer pool number like this in basketball.

Holy Moley...some folks around here need to pull up their big girl panties and get a grip (Muschamp Circa 2013)...

Ok so here’s who we lost...

1. A dude who was so good, he was going into the draft no matter what (Mann).

2. A really good shooter (Locke).

3. A junior college transfer who played in 20 games this season, scoring a total of 38 points in 199 minutes (Osifo).

4. A backup guard who didn’t play in the SEC or NCAA tournament and averaged 2.5 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists this past season (Glover); and

5. A guy who was suspended for a game in the NCAA tourney due to dirty undisciplined play and averaged 3.8 points in 24 games (Payne)...

“Oh the humanity!!!!! How ever will we survive?!?!?!?”

You are downplaying the losses way too much imo. This team is heading for a bad season if they leave and he doesn't get some good transfers to come in and replace them.

sadgator’s got some reality to drop in here...White or no White...transfers in or out or no transfers in or out...

Florida will not win the SEC reg. season or tournament title, will be on the cut of making the NCAA tournament, will likely not reach the Sweet Sixteen, and if it does, will advance no further...

surprise...

I will take a bet that we aren't right on the NCAA cut line either in or out if we lose all these transfers and don't get a good guard and forward to transfer here. If he doesn't get a couple to come here my guess is his firing will be known to be coming once the committee meets.

sadgator will take the position that most-folks here will be bitching that the team didn’t perform well enough to get a better seed given all of the “talent” on it...watch...

And the one thing that is true that we should all agree on is that the further in time we get away from it, the clearer it becomes that the 04’s back to back run and then subsequent runs of elite eights was (and will forever be) the golden age of Florida hoops and the high point of success that we will ever see for this program in our lifetimes...sadgator hopes that everyone who lived that enjoyed and appreciated every moment of it...sadgator sure did....never took any part of that success for granted....

Ask fans of teams like FSU and Bama how hard it is to make it past the Sweet Sixteen and how thrilled they would be to see their teams in a Final Four, much less win a Title...if you think it should be a yearly expectation for Florida to cruise into the Sweet Sixteen and beyond...they’ll put reasonable expectations into perspective for you...

That article is far from “garbage.” It’s 100% correct. Everybody ought to spend some real time reflecting on the truth and sincerity of Edgar’s words....

...and that article doesn’t even begin to address the political angle of the benefits of White being Florida’s Basketball Coach, of which there are many, and which absolutely figure into this complex equation. Anybody thinking White is going anywhere, except of his own choosing, is fooling themselves...

I'm starting to believe Insta wrote this garbage, or it was copied and pasted in one the previous posts above.

Garbage is putting it mildly.

What he didn't say: This team had the talent to be a 3 seed, maybe a 2 seed this year. Coaching made it a 7 seed. Watching us toy with Oral Roberts for 35 minutes only to led bonehead coaching blow the game for us was in stark contrast to Arkansas-ORU, where an ORU team that was clearly at least on par with Arky lost to a team with greater heart and will to win. Imagine this Florida team's talent combined with Arkansas' coaching, desire, and will. Might be locked into the final 4 right now.

What, that we can't get rid of White because he has a 4 year contract? C'mon.

Unfortunately for us, we all know White isn't going anywhere else for next season. That article has nothing but excuses for Mike White.

I think we are more likely to see a crazy McElwain type ending than the Gators making the tourney next year unless he gets some really good transfers.

Instead of claiming fake death threats against his family White will probably go out in his last press conference reinforcing he doesn't know what the hell is wrong with these players like he has done the last few years when we lose due to his extended slowdown crap when we take nice leads in the 2nd half against good teams.

I'm looking forward to the firing of Multi-Millionaire Mike White and the total collapse of Socialist-U's B-Ball program.

No, what we need is for people who refer to our beloved University of Florida as "Socialist U" to go away and never return. Why don't you go be a fan of somebody like Oral Roberts? They seem to be at your political preference.

Insta's argument is really weird.

So is it "Mike White is rich so he must be a great coach?"

because...I mean....that's really a stretch.

See ya. Cancel culture showed its ugly face.

So if somebody says "this is my country, love it or leave it", that's patriotism, but if somebody says "this is my university, love it or leave it", that's cancel culture? If you think it's cancel culture to be upset somebody is badmouthing your school, then please cancel yourself.

When has he ever made sense? I mean, why would he root for a school he calls socialism U? He is a professed hater of socialism, so that statement strongly implies he hates UF. But if he hates it, why does he support it?

Well I have to admit I cant stand the BS they are pulling at UF now (administration and faculty) but I try to filter it out from the sports as much as possible.

I do not hate the University of Kentucky. But it will be a cold day in hell when I give that university anymore of my money. You kneel and protest in front of the American flag and expect my dollars? Kiss my ass. And I hate socialism also.

If Oats stays and can't get us to the Sweet Sixteen at least every other year, I'm gonna be disappointed.

But I will agree with you that Florida fans shouldn't expect to make the Sweet Sixteen with any type of regularity as long as you keep White.

Who knelt?

The Provost? The Trustees? The University President? Or a bunch of teenagers?

Seems awful extreme to punish a school you have followed for decades for the actions of children who will be gone in at most a couple of years.

Said this on another string but worth noting here, Chris Beard goes to Texas. Sucks because that's the guy I was eyeing that would be great after we fire Mike White. Scott Stricklin missed on not pulling the trigger earlier.
