Is it time for the Mike White era to end?

Yep always for the most part a lower seeded team that really doesn’t have much of a chance to make any tourney noise. Here we are again. In fact this year I’m not even sure we are going to make the tourney. We really only have 1 good win (Ohio State). And I don’t see us doing much in a strong SEC. Thanks to Mike for tearing down what Billy built.
There are times I feel like the administration must be hoping and praying Billy gets tired of the NBA and wants to come back, so they are keeping White around until that happens. Nothing else makes sense as to why he is still here.

BD is doing good in the NBA. From what I know he has no interest in returning to college basketball right now due to recruiting

This team IS NOT likely to make the tourney.

We were projected as a mid-tier SEC team in the preseason, and if we ended up being as such we would get in.

But I agree that we arent likely to get in because we wont be a mid-tier team.

7-11 in the SEC and splitting with UGA. 14 losses total

I remember a few months ago, saying that new coaches plus a team of transfers would very likely have issues with chemistry and teamwork and have a sub-par season.

Of course, Insta COMPLETELY disagreed with me. And as always, he now looks the fool. Too bad he has me on ignore, otherwise I could look forward to him doubling down and proclaiming this season a massive success. Only guy I know who would stand on 11 and hit on 21.

Hopefully our next basketball coach doesn't recruit another dips**t from Athens like Plandrous Fleming.

This is what happens when you build a team of transfers.

People are questioning his loyalty. What loyalty? He came here for a year to, well, I don't know why he came here. Certainly isn't improving his draft stock. But it certainly wasn't because he has a great love for UF. To expect him to hate UGa just because Gators hate UGa, that's ridiculous.

You know what? I’m fine with him transferring to UGA

Personally I blame both. The kid and Mike White.
I get that perspective, I do. But I doubt White sold him on being a Gator. He sold him on playing time and tv appearances. If you got a great job offer from a German company and moved to Berlin, would you be expected to root for Germany in, say, the World Cup? Because, that's all it is for him. A job.

That's fair.

I mean, I have two degrees from Auburn and lived there during most of my 20s, so I like Auburn, I love the city, but do I give one damn about how they do?

No. And people look at me funny when I tell them that.

Now if they ever watch a Florida game with me....they are In For a surprise

Yes I understand all that but have the common decency not to plaster it all over social media. Not the best way to get the fans behind you.

I get that and we have had all kinds of players play at UF that weren’t UF fans prior to coming to UF and I don’t seem to recall anything like this ever happening before. The issue I have is he took it to social media and even went to the extent of saying I’m going to go down University Blvd wearing my UGA sweater screaming who let the dogs out, etc. He has since apologized for his statement. I’m guessing he may had even been asked by White to do that. For example Udonis Haslem was a huge Miami Hurricane football fan. I don’t ever seem to recall him doing something like this. Again poor choice by Fleming

Social media is evil. It is destroying us culturally.

Strong words coming from a bleeding heart liberal (love you it's just a joke, you have to caveat things now a days unless you want to be destroyed for having a personality).

All of us have done stupid stuff, especially in our younger years. The difference is that today it's all on social media for all the world to see. I'm a hard core conservative (not Republican), but I give the kid a pass. Non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

If you read his Twitter apology and think about where he came from…it is kind of sad…he’s a kid…

Yea, the guy grew up in Athens, maybe even born there, and grew up a dawg fan.

If people think he's supposed to all of a sudden hate uga like we do just because hes playing basketball at UF for a year......well, that's ridicolous.

I wont fault him for being happy, but he needs to wise up and understand there's a time and place to do certain things. This wasn't it.

Its not worth holding a grudge about it though.

Agreed

Tbh, I would rather he didnt give the apology. He doesnt regret it....at least not the way some UF fans would want him to regret it.

He just needs to be smarter about this kind of stuff in the future and let what was said earlier just be buried by time.

Yea

Given his background AND the fact that he puts forth effort on the team.....idc overall.
