In before the gun confiscation NUTS.....

I do. I don’t see where it limits it. Can you show me?

Now, via our system - we elected representatives that disagree - it’s against Federal law without a license. So I don’t and won’t own any automatic weapons without proper licensure. I generally follow the law, especially when it comes to federal firearm laws.

Not shockingly, all three branches were in control of the Dems when the original ban was passed in the 90’s.

Still think it’s a violation of the 2A, and the only time you see anyone using them are criminals…
All it says is that you can 'bear arms'. To me, they can ban all they want as long as you are still able to 'bear arms'. You don't have a right to any specific weapons.

And yes, I realize that the gun companies interpret it as unlimited weapons of any kind.

Hughes amendment was passed in 1986, creating the NFA and introducing the restriction on purchasing "new" machine guns made after 1986. Theoretically you could legally build one by applying for a Form 1, but it's not transferable so when you die the government gets it.

The original machine gun restrictions were passed in 1934.

There have been two homicides committed with licensed class 3 automatic weapons since 1934. One was by a police officer who used it to murder a confidential informant. The other was an unsolved murder of a doctor where the weapon was stolen and recovered at the scene.

The rest are illegally converted or stolen Leo/military weapons.

For some reason, both these incidents occurred in Ohio.

Once again it doesn't bestow rights it limits the power of government. This is just a rehash of the colossally stupid muskets argument.

Who asked you? Not me...not ANYONE important. So you would be better to say "my opinion" because just like ***holes...everyone has one.

That's fine. The government can't keep you from bearing arms. I think that's a good policy for responsible people.
Why can't you just say that then?

The second amendment has no provisions for the mentally ill or violently criminal.

Those are infringements I can live with, but infringements nonetheless.

Thanks for correcting me.

I edited my prior post to point out my confusion with the assault weapon ban Clinton signed.

I think my confusion stemmed from the fact my dad’s flight instructor and racquetball buddy from my childhood was a federal dealer with a license to own automatic weapons. I may have had a chance to shoot them a few times, but need to check the statute of limitations to see if my memory is correct.

That only lasted a few years and after I got into HS we never went to our range to shoot again. I don’t know if he got out of it or just moved on from the hobby. And my dad freaked in the mid 90’s and made some “emergency” purchases.

Prior to the ban I purchased the NFA trifecta, an HK MP5SD, which is an sbr, a fully automatic sub machine gun in 9mm parabellum with an integrated suppressor. Between the time I applied for the NFA stamp and the 9 months it took in 1992 to finish the red tape the price rose 8 thousand dollars. Assuming you can find one for purchase now the price starts at 50k. Good luck buying parts, Heckler and Koch won't sell them to you directly.

I've always said responsible people should be able to own firearms but I have no problems with restrictions so the gun nuts think I'm a gun grabber.

He probably got tired of the hoops. I'm not an ffl dealer so I had to be escorted to the range by law enforcement and the BATFE has access to my safe to prove it's being stored properly whenever they want which is now why all my happy place weapons are stored at the range. I have been advised by my counsel of record to never use a class III weapon in a self defense situation, as they once tried to lock up an FFL dealer for using automatic weapons to defend his gun store against burglary. His name was Harry Beckwith, an Alachua county native, perhaps you are familiar with him.

EDIT: I’m wrong below - I was confusing the assault weapons ban in 94 with the ban on machine guns.

Theo protested the Rocky V movie only because they nicknamed Tommy Gunn, the Machine.

For our boy, @RussellCasse, err, Lone Star.

I'm not, but I'm also not shocked.

The few times he let me pop off a few bursts I had a hard time controlling the gun. The muzzle, and subsequently the rounds, were all over the place (mostly up). I was probably 12, but a husky 12 😆

I don't really get the point unless your goal is to indiscriminately spray bullets.

A machine gun is for suppressive fire. I have known soldiers and Marines that could deliver accurate fire in volume at vehicles and emplacements but the point of a machine gun has always been a base of fire to keep the enemy in place while other elements close in an engage.

A submachine gun carries more rounds than a pistol but is more maneuverable than a rifle in an urban or room clearing scenario. I believe that a carbine or sbr length rifle in a semiautomatic pistol caliber to be the best home defense weapon.

Neither subguns nor machine-guns are useful for civilians other than a fun toy at the range for the wealthy.

Luckily the purpose of the 2nd amendment is defense against tyranny, and tyrants invariably have automatic weapons.

Eagle 5 almost killed me waxing it. But rewarding when complete.
I know nothing about the finish you’re waxing, but if it’s anything like a car’s clear Turtle Wax Ceramic is an amazing product.

It is easy on and off and lasts 6-12 months. Water beads like crazy, amazing shine. Follow the directions, it’s important.

Only downside is you really need to clear bonded contaminants before you apply. I use a clay bar and Mother’s quick detailer, but there are other ways.

And if you need an affordable polisher this is hard to beat, like a sore peter.

I’m a little bit of an enthusiast for paint restoration.

Not so funny story…

I just bought a Ford Maverick Hybrid to Flat tow behind Eagle 5.

Took it to Line-X to have a spray in bedliner installed. When I got it home I noticed small black specks all over the hood and front of car (bedliner overspray). It was raining when I picked it ip. Linex offered to remove, but when I saw their process I declined.

Paid to have a full paint correction/removal of spray, and ceramic coated. Took it to the detailers shop to test removal of overspray and the test spot came off no problem. However, when I picked it up, these yahoos didn’t remove any more of the overspray and coated over the top.

Currently in the middle of swilling on moonshine to calm down and dealing with them. SMDH

Yes, good reviews. However, the devil was in the details. The thing I missed? The Franchise has a new owner that took over in June of this year.

They did several things wrong. This particular business has cameras in their shop with CCTV for customers to see what they are doing. For transparency. I showed up early and the guy working on my truck had his tools and toolbox sitting on the hood of my truck. The hell of it? There was a table for his equipment a foot or two away. I snapped a photo, and showed the owner. You never put work tools on a customers new vehicle. Especially, on camera.

At the end of the day, it’s a material item. It doesn’t mean much honestly. Every day we wake up is a blessing. Time is much more precious.

Just thought y’all might get a good laugh at my expense. 😂
Very philosophical view of a stranger screwing you over.

Once factory clear is damaged it’s tough to get it back right.

But you’re right, Mrs Russell can’t be replaced. The battery in your hybrid will be in 8 years 😉

So a pocket knife for the people and bazookas for the government. Sounds like just what the founding fathers had in mind

ALL socialists/communists love gubment control. Theo is a lib. Would rather be controlled by government because he is so below average he NEEDS the gubment to get him back to average.

I think Theo is just playing a game he isn’t smart enough to play. He doesn’t beleive over half of what he puts down. The nice thing about the trumpets is the are unconsciously unaware….

Well, heck. Y'all can have all the knives you want. There's no epidemic of knife violence.

What kind of knives are you big, strong men going to use when you're hunting?
I am not a hunter but I am big and strong. Knives are arms as you know. The founding fathers wanted a governor on the government.

So we could ban all firearms and you people would still be able to bear arms. That's good to know. I'll mention it to Beto.
