The insinuation is that his owning (and keeping) of the guns is to somehow protect the gun companies.
But he’s already bought the gun. How does it help the gun companies if he fights to keep his guns?
Furthermore, one could posit from that question that if he were to die protecting gun ownership he would be doing so to somehow protect the manufacturer and not the right to own a firearm. The manufacturer has already sold the gun.
