If only the criminals have guns, then yes, giving guns to law-abiding citizens, ie MORE GUNS, does indeed make the law-abiding citizens safer and result in FEWER acts of gun violence against them.

'Gun free zones' are a result of people trying to do something to help. It's obviously not going to work when surrounding areas are flooded with guns. It'd be like an 'illness free area' in a hospital.
I gave you my opinion on what an assault weapon would be. Something that, relative to other guns, let's you do more damage quickly.

Guns are a key part of gun violence. So are the crazy people and the criminals. Gun violence cannot be committed if one or the other is missing. Crazy people and criminals can still kill indiscriminately without the gun. The gun cannot kill without the criminal or the crazy person.

No. I ran a VERY scientific test. I kicked a gun in my safe for 5 years and it never ONCE hurt anyone. I deduced that in order for that gun to do harm to ANYONE OR ANYTHING, some PERSON had to unlock the safe and actually force the gun to fire. It could not do so by itself. ARGUMENT OVER. You cannot prove me wrong.
