Now I know where @BamaFan1137 gets his info from. Stormfront

The second narrative is of a more sinister nature. Found in the websites and forums of white supremacist conspiracy theorists, this insidiously claims that indentured servitude can be equated with chattel slavery. From Stormfront.org, a self-described online community of white nationalists, to David Icke’s February 2014 interview with Infowars.com, the narrative of the ‘White slaves’ is continuously promoted. The most influential book to claim that there was ‘white slavery’ in Colonial America was Michael Hoffman’s They Were White and They Were Slaves: The Untold History of the Enslavement of Whites in Early America. Self-published in 1993, Hoffman, a Holocaust denier, unsurprisingly blames the Atlantic slave trade on the Jews. By blurring the lines between the different forms of unfree labour, these white supremacists seek to conceal the incontestable fact that these slavocracies were controlled by—and operated for the benefit of—white Europeans. This narrative, which exists almost exclusively in the United States, is essentially a form of nativism and racism masquerading as conspiracy theory. Those that push this narrative have now adopted the ‘Irish slaves’ myth, and they use it as a rhetorical ‘attack dog’ which aims to shut down all debate about the legacy of black slavery in the United States

It's well-known fact that the first slaves in what would later become America were white, not black. That's not open to debate.

As for the black slaves that came to America, where did they come from?

Most came from Africa. And they were kidnapped and sold into slavery by BLACKS IN AFRICA.

In fact, the largest slave-trading organization in the world is rooted in the Asante tribe. In 2020, the dems proudly wore the kente cloth, which is tied to this group

Literally glamorizing the most notorious slave-traders on the planet.

The left's brightest, Don Lemon proposed that the UK should pay reparations for the country buying slaves. It ended badly for him:

And that's an excellent point. If the left actually cared about making amends for slavery in the form of reparations, they would be going after the SELLERS of the slaves, not the buyers.

But since this is about pandering for votes, the left attempts to 'blackwash' history and act like blacks were the beginning of slaves in the Americas, when it was actually whites.

BTW, this thread is fine and good for the board, in case you thought I was targeting you and others of a particular opinion. I assure you, I am not ...

Maybe not, but it started as a recent right wing mantra that was used to minimize slavery. Wherever you got it from, any comparisons between the two are ridiculous. You should read the whole article before commenting.

I've read dozens if books about the history of the Irish in America and it wasn't until recently that this odd comparison was proffered

Maybe, but it is a much bigger troll thread than the one you locked. I knew the whole idea of asking God to bless our president would send the Trumpers into a tizzy, which it obviously did.

My point is that I don't believe any thread should be locked or banned unless it has obviously racist overtones. Too much judgment involved in what is a troll thread. People can ignore them if they wish. But asking mods to censor threads they don't like is just lame IMO.

I've said my peace. TIFWIW. No hard feelings.

That's simply not true. The indentured servitude of the Irish, and many other Europeans and Asians, has been known, and spoken of, since I was in high school. Almost certainly before that.

And there's nothing that could minimize slavery man. I've said on this board that slavery is an unwashable stain on this countries history. Those EXACT words in fact.

However, one group or another has been taking weaker groups as slaves as long as civilization has existed on planet earth. We're not more evil...it's just a shame that we weren't less evil from the start.

Nobody is censoring threads they don't like. Judgement call on the other one, but most likely an outlier in terms of threads being locked or deleted ...

Lots of backpedaling. Does this place define you? Mean that much to you? Most of us find that humorous. The rest of really don't care if we never posted here again. Take @jfegaly for example. We won't trade our standards for posting privileges. It's how we roll. This isn't an attack, just a check on your self awareness. I will sleep just fine if I never post here again. It's entertainment, Lord knows the football and basketball teams don't make me lose any sleep. Haven't in a long time.
Uh, every now and then, well all of last season, I did lose sleep over Gator football and hoops losses. Just about every loss.

Right? I even PMed a poster here a few months ago about something they said, and discreetly told them they may want to be careful, they could get banned for what they were posting.

Their response was basically...and? "This is just a message board, I can find somewhere else to spend my time."

I sometimes wonder if some of the posters here can say the same. A lot of tears from @BSC911 over what seems like a simple and decent request: Stop trolling and start contributing to decent conversations.

Report: Biden Administration Considering Pulling Health Care from Veterans to Treat Illegal Aliens = FJB

Did you, or a family member, serve your country with the expectation of receiving the health care benefits you were promised?

Sorry, illegal aliens apparently come first in President Joe Biden’s America.

The Biden administration reportedly is considering diverting doctors from the Department of Veterans Affairs to treat the massive inflow of illegal aliens expected at the southern border this spring and summer.

Hillary Vaughn of Fox Business reported on the insulting slight to American veterans on Thursday, citing a source with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She quoted the source as saying, “We’re going to take medical services away from people that really deserve that. Who went to combat … to give free medical attention to illegal migrants.” 😡

How’s the echo chamber? I’m sure there are many threads condemning Trump’s lies about the FBI planting evidence. Yet another shameful attempt at misdirection that the Trumpers will eat up.

The man is truly a loon.

“George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant, where they combined them. So they’re in a bowling alley-slash-Chinese restaurant,” Trump told the crowd.

Joe always said that he believes his son got cancer from Iraq. That is what he is referring to.

Hiden isn't trying to claim he's now a Gold Star parent as a result, is he???

As ridiculous as that might be, that'll be the spin. Because the reality is more ridiculous than the absurd spin.

This is where we are now. And it was entirely predictable. Many of us here stated that this is where we would end up, if Biden became POTUS, and we said that a year before the elections. People like @kalimgoodman and @BSC911 disagreed and claimed that we were being dramatic.

A vegetable sits in the Oval. There's no spinning it at this point.

You will run with whatever marching orders you are spoonfed.

Good Lord...and you have the audacity to claim that you are an independent and that others are too partisan? Get a clue man.
He truly has been saying that for years and multiple times.

So if he's been saying it for years and various times, how is it being partisan by pointing that out?

Wouldn't that make you partisan because you only see one side?

His son lost his life in Iraq. You're partisan AF and you're spinning. The man lies more than he speaks the truth...yet you are giving him the benefit of the doubt. Why would you do that? Because you are a super independent non-partisan? GMAB...drop that crap. No one is dumb enough to believe it. You are the face of the far left...meaning that you are comfortable with corn-holing the truth.

Biden is a lying vegetable. I cannot imagine why anyone would attempt to defend this. But that's just how partisan you are.

I just have to laugh. You are so quick to explain how Hiden isn't lying here. Even if you are right a true independent would acknowledge that Hiden often lies and you can easily see why anyone would view this as simply being another lie.

So HIden AGAIN gets caught lying, and you immediately come to his defense and claim anyone that doesn't do the same is partisan?

Yet when it came to The Daily Least claiming that our President Donald J Trump *ATE* classified documents, you got so horny over that that you had to come here and start a thread over it.

Anyone who was being honest would know this 'story' had bullshit written all over it. The account on its very surface is too bizarre to be believable, not even considering that The Daily Least has a long history of being a propaganda site.

Yet you swallowed it whole and never questioned.

You are comedy. That's the only value you bring to this board.

I'm pretty patient and a glass half full kind of guy. I've had it with people like this.
