Gators to Hire Ron Roberts as LB Coach, Co-Defensive Coordinator ?

Best WR thru the first 9 Games, the stipulation was prior to Shorter being injured out:: 🤓

Most receptions - Henderson 36, Shorter 29, Pearsall 22

Most Rec. Yds - Shorter 577, Henderson 395, Pearsall 381

Most Yds/Rec - Shorter 19.9, Pearsall 17.3, Henderson 11.0

Longest Reception - Herderson 78, Shorter 76, Pearsall 52

Rearsall was 1st = zero, 2nd = once, 3rd = 3 out of 4....

All 3 were tied with 2 Receiving TD's.
===========================

Ststs are up to and includingt the (#9) aTm game:

WR Justin Shorter 6-4 223 rsJr started - in 9 games:
29 for 577 Yds, 19.9 Yds/Rec, 2 TD's, L-75
No rushing or kick returns.

WR Xzavier Henderson 6-3 195 So - in 9 games:
36
for 395 Yds, 11.0 Yds/Rec, 2 TD's, L-78
Kick Returns
- 7 for 111 Yds.
Punt Returns - 11 for 108 Yds.

WR Ricky Pearsall 6-1 200 Jr - in 9 games:
22 for 381 Yds, 17.3 Yds/Rec, 2 TD's, L- 52
Rushing - Had one 76 yard run for a TD vs E.Wash. UF 52-17 patsy)
Then - 3 vs aTm for 34 Yds, zero TD's (UF 41-24)
---------
The last 4 Gms, Ricky had 1 run each for 7, -3, 1, -2, zero TD's.
So yeah, run him all you want to, against the patsy teams... 🙄

And have another pie on me....... 😁
Now let's take a look at the advanced stats, those tell the true story. Any 2nd grader can look at basic numbers, but you need higher intellect to dissect the data. Let's use your 9 games. Shorter was targeted 52 times and had 29 receptions and 5 drops. Henderson was targeted 49 times and led the teams in drops with 9. Ricky was targeted just 39 times and only had 1 drop. He spent most of the time running wide open by AR did not see the field well. As I said, statistically he was our best and most efficient WR. For all pass catchers actually Zip was the best, but he's a TE. Keep your pie.

Yep if you go by being wide open and not targeted Pearsall was easily the best receiver.

Everyone has an opinion on what BEST means, and they are welcome to them...
Ricky, Ricky, he's our man,,,
If he can't do it, nobody can...

Moving right along....

Okay, it's time for everyone to get behind Mertz,,,, unless and until he screws the pooch anyway.... GooooooooooooooGATORS!

Miller's injury seemingly puts Brown at #2.
Hope he's not needed, but still hope he gets some playing time so he's ready if he is ever needed...

Sounded like Brown was winning the #2 spot before Miller injury. Hope I am wrong, but I think Brown is going to get his shot much sooner than later....

From most reports, Brown was becoming the #2 guy anyhow.

Any truth to the rumors Miller is in the doghouse because he isnt too happy about not being the starter. People might be just assuming that though. I do wonder how injured he really is.
Mods over at 247 - and i like them a lot because they usually don't gaslight imo - say he has a small arm ailment and is just doing stretches etc. They don't suggest it's anything other than precautionary.

They don't indicate anything is wrong from a culture standpoint either.

But what you say rings true imo - I mean, Miller came in with a lot of potential and has pretty much been terrible. It wouldn't be the first time a staff covered for a kid that was struggling, who might be on the way out. Dunno - pure conjecture though.

247 reported that Miller has some type of tendonitis - that's at least the word. He was going to be QB3 regardless from most talk thru camp.

Talk about things getting possibly crazy walk-on QB Micah Leon was supposedly getting quite a few 2nd team reps with Miller not at practice. Napier said he played really well in the scrimmage.

Brown better be on his toes as Napier couldn't stop talking Leon up after the final scrimmage.

Mertz, Brown, whomever else,,,,, no matter really at this point....

Brown's best move might still be either baseball, or a football xfer outta here?

Won't matter who is QB if the O-line doesn't come together and play well. If they do, we could surprise people because I think the defense will be much better.

Some high praise from Napier. He must be like 25 years old if he is 7 years removed from high school. It looks like he was never given much playing time to show what he has at his other stops. It wouldn't surprise me if either Brown or him look better than Miller if they get a shot to play this season. Some people think if we lose Mertz during the season though things could really go bad as in worse than 6-6 bad.

If we lose our whole team it could get dicey as well but I think our running game could maybe still keep it close in most games.
I think the DL improves this year - depth is there now. LBs will be slightly better but may look a lot better based on the DL play. Gotta hope the DBs are at least in the right spots under Raymond's 2nd year in the system. Evein if the DB play isn't elite you have to think we look better.

lol I'm getting hyped for the D though we gotta see it first of course.

Edit: the D's phase of the game I'm hoping for the most improvement and am anxious to see is the Safety-LB passing game. It's been so bad for like ever lol - if this part of the D gets it going it should be a really solid, if not elite.

Fraziars 6-4 218 Jr - 5 for 60 yds, 12.0 Yds/Rec

Burke 6-4 199 rsSo - 6 for 103 yds, 17.2 Yds/Rec

Douglas 6-3 202 So - 10 for 175 yds, 17.5 Yds/Rec.

C.Bowman 6-0 201 So - 7 for 138 yds, 19.7 Yds/Rec (slot)

Pearsall 6-1 192 Sr - 33 for 661 yds, 20.0 Yds/Rec - (slot) Maxwell Watch List

K.Jackson 6-3 219 rsSo - 2 for 43 yds, 21.5 Yds/Rec

While the 3 newbee Fr speed merchants look to make a huge impact.

Interesting as Utah fans were on their site saying not to be worried about our passing attack because only one WR had more than 10 catches last season.
