Coaching Decisions:
On who's getting the playing time in the rotations seem to have hindered them in the losses?
Against Virginia, Handlogten fouled out with just under 3 minutes to go and that hurt a lot. We had some key turnovers and missed free throws down the stretch and their guy Buchanan got on a roll. Against Baylor I think there are 3 reasons we lost - Handlogten was out, Clayton was sick (maybe shouldn't have played as much, though), and Baylor was just unconscious shooting 3's. Early in the season I think all coaches are ironing out their rotations, seeing which guys play best together and which guys they can trust in crunch time. By the time SEC play rolls around, the rotation should be pretty much solidified so everybody clearly understands their role. At least one would hope.
Virginia game we had 19 turnovers. The missed free throws and 2 turnovers by Clayton in the last 60 seconds doomed us. Baylor was ridiculous from 3. Clayton sick and big man out....we were right there. Baylor is easily a top 10 team.
All of this is true and we were right there in both losses but sooner rather than later we need to close the deal.
They get another chance to close the deal tonight on ESPN-U at 7:15 @ Wake Forest....

The whole 2nd half we're getting screwed by the refs.
Tough loss to a very average Wake team. They got to the free throw line a ton in the 2nd half. We couldn't seem to get anything to go our way the last 12 min of the game. Built a nice lead, then foul trouble caught up to us. Also didn't like Golden's rotations tonight. He tried some new things and they just didn't seem to work. Long season, won't be the last tough loss, just need to make sure we get enough good wins.
Women's BB goes to 6-1, Men's BB drops to 4-3. Coach Finley > Coach Golden IMO

I don't understand what the point is posting the sec basketball standings? Not all OOC schedules are created equal...a few of those teams have yet to beat a power 5 team..and almost half of them have only played 1 power 5 team...meanwhile Florida has played 5 of 7 games against power 5 teams, including 1 top 10 and 2 others that are top 25 caliber.
Yep team rankings which is pretty good at pegging the teams to get the final NCAA bids has us # 43 right now due to the schedule. Michigan who has some surprising losses is about the only team we have left that would probably be considered a good win before SEC play.
What I've learned about basketball and baseball is don't get too excited or too upset over wins and losses. They are both long seasons. Florida making the tourney this year would be considered a succesful season.

They were in bonus at the 12 minute mark. Samuel went down after his face was raked by that red head and no whistle. Golden was livid after they called a technical foul, and two balls that went out of bounds should have been gator ball. One was called out on us when we were shooting, and the other was called a jump ball when they smacked the ball. I've not seen anything like this since the Swindle in the Swamp.
Hopefully we are up to the challenge to defeat the Mighty Mike White and his Bulldogs this season.
I will say I was impressed how Georgia stole a win from FSU in their home court after being down by 11 with less than 4 minutes left in regulation.
On 2 separate occasions we took shots that were deflected and both times they gave the ball to Wake. Frustrating.
Horrible loss by UF Women's BB today. Got beat by a 2-4 Marshall team that hasn't played anybody decent.

Mike took over a team with a losing record.
Mike took the Gators to the NIT Final-4 in his 1st season (including beating tOSU in their house) with none of the home games that they were entitled to due to the O'Domes renovation construction.
Then he took the Gator's to the Elite-8 in his 2nd season.
He never missed a post season tourney, even during the scamdemic hoax...
While we're still waiting for the new guy that took over a team with a winning season,,, to have his 1st winning season..... (16-17 with a bad home loss to UCF in the 1st game of the NIT and currently with a 4-3 record with a 2 game losing streak in progress.

Mike White was never going to win any type of championship. He had 7 years and he blew his wad in year 2. 7 years is plenty of time for a coach to prove he's capable of at least competing for a sec title. He had his shot, and failed.

JMOHO, but I believe that Socialist-U's buy-in to the CCP's Bio-Warfare attack cost 2 coaches jobs.
If championship winners are your only standard, then good luck with the 2 new guys that have yet to have even a winning season, while the football guy was SECe-C and the B-Ball guy never had a losing season and went to a post season tourney every single year. I believe that he's the only Gator Men's B-Ball coach to ever have that kind of record....

Covid had nothing to do with Mike White sucking ass as the UF coach.
I always saw him as "just a guy", suited for a mid tiered SEC basketball team. Nothing less, nothing more. UF's men's coaching carousel for the major sports has sucked for over a decade, except maybe baseball.
Sucks that Spurrier has gotten old, I'm ready to take back Urban if he'll come back. In 7 years he won nothing. Period. Not even close. After year 2 we had become a mid pack sec team. So why keep going with him? Was something going to suddenly change? Golden is in year 2, so if mid pack mike got 7 years then Golden should at least get 3.5. He might suck too. But, remember, as you like to point out (you probably take credit for the phrase) doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of Instability.
I still remember when instability blamed the injury on Gak for Mike White's season getting derailed. Now that was pure comic gold....
I think that at least some of the instaHaters here are still embarrassed and pissed off at me after having their faces and their years of demonstrated infinite ignorance rubbed in the dirt so toughly on this thread.... 😁 😛 😂
