Carry over to Gator 2023-24 Basketball :-)

Seems we still have a Mike White lover here.
Apparently we still have an in-house suck-up here, the same clueless troll that he's always been... 😂
And since you are obviously begging for this information, here it is....
Non-Choking Winners - UG/White 80 - 77 Wake Forest (I had to go look it up)

Chocking Losers - UF/Golden 70 - 73 Virginia

Happy Now?
😛

You're seriously comparing Wake Forest to Virginia? Virginia won a championship not too long ago. Just last season Wake Forest was 19-14 while Virginia posted a 25-8 record.
That's the way you spell choking? 🤪 🤪

Chocking? That rhymes with shocking. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

There are 3 players who are actually taller than the 6'10" Joakim Noah.
Remember how other fans used to make fun of his hair?

There were a few KY jelly fans who clowned his hair but it was much more of the Holes fans talking about his hair and the outfit he wore to the NBA draft.
Can't forget the nasty fat Fuchs, Holes loving David Lamm who also talked so much schiitt about Noah and the entire UF hoops program as they won back to back titles.

Current Sagarin Basketball Ratings:

32. Vagina
70. Florida - Had a chance in the final 2 minutes, vs a team only ranked 38 places higher, but they choked on both of their final 2 possessions.

78. Wake Forest
155. Georgia - Had a chance in the final 2 minutes, vs a team ranked 77 places higher, and they won.

Current vs 'not too long ago' is how you attempt to duck, dodge, and distract from your own clueless stupidity, while you're busy sucking up.... 😛

It appears Mike White means business this year at Georgia. I am sure he can't wait for the Florida game.

Unlike some here fever, Mike has very likely moved on from Socialist/Woke-U, seeing UF as just another SEC game to play.....

Still haven't learned how to spell choke, just like your buddy in the other forum who got his precious little thread locked. The one whose alter ego that lost his gold membership at The Swamp.

Chocking, huh?

Gator Men's BB wins easily against an overmatched FAMU team. UF started off really bad, but got it together and won convincingly. Riley Kugel, projected 1st round NBA pick, struggled for his 2nd consecutive game and needs to get it going with upcoming games against ranked opponents.

Oh schiitt! I knew it was a bad omen for Kugel to buzz his hair off. Kowacie Reeves did the same thing to his once badass hair the previous season and got worse.

Hopefully we get this crap out of our system before SEC play. Luckily Clayton won't be the PG much longer as he is not that good at it. Kugel can hopefully start hitting the side of the barn soon. Condon has promise but I doubt he can be a real major force until next season.

Clayton really a 2 and not a true 1. Zyon back will most likely mean Clayton moves into backing up the 2 and 1 spots. Need to step up our defense.

Zyon returning from his suspension comes at a good time as FSU comes to Gainesville on Friday and they have some bigs to match ours.

The key stats for the PG position has always been the total Asts and the Ast/TO ratio.

PG Clayton - Min/Gm 31.7 - FG .400, 3's .250, FT .706, Pts 13.0, Rbs 5.0, with 15 Ast to 8 TO's. (less than 2 to 1)

SG/SF Kugel - Min/Gm 29.3 - FG .425, 3's .167, FT .667, Pts 14.0, Rbs 3.0 with 5 Ast to 9 TO's.

CG/SF Richard - Min/Gm 31.3 - FG .423, 3's .400, FT .846, Pts 13.0, Rbs 2.7, with 4 Ast to 5 TO's

CG
/SF Aberdeen - Min/Gm 15.0 - FG .429, 3's .000, FT .429, Pts 5.0, Rbs 2.3, with 3 Ast to 1 TO.
Adjusted for Min's played to Clayton, it would be 6 Ast to 2 TO's for a 3 to 1 ratio.
And with more Min/Gm you'd expect more and faster improvement...

PG Pullin - 3 Gm NCAA suspension ends, so we'll see soon enough....
Otherwise I'd be playing Aberdeen more at the point and I'd make him as Pullin's primary backup anyway.

Aberdeen stats don't support him getting more time. He only averages 1 asst for every 15 minutes of playing time. Clayton is 1 for every 6.5 minutes. Not to mention defensively Aberdeen has 0 steals in 45 minutes of PT. Yes, Clayton had 5 turnovers against VA trying to force the issue, meanwhile against UVA Aberdeen looked a little overmatched. No clue about Pullin...as you said we shall see.

Based on performance during the 1st 3 games and with the return of Pullin, I would start Samuel, Handlogten, Richard, Clayton & Pullin, bringing Kugel off the bench. Doubt it will happen, but Kugel has hurt the team more than helped so far.

He looks like he's trying to force things. Just let the game come to him. Hopefully he breaks out soon, we are going to need to him to avg in the 15-18 pt range.

PG/SG Denzel Aberdeen has aligned himself as an unsung asset for the Gators. After being used sparingly in his first year with the program, his development and steady approach has earned praise from Golden this offseason. "He's a guy that never complains, never points fingers. He just goes to work every day. He's a guy that, because of that approach and that mentality, is going to earn a good role within this program." -- CTG

He's already realized an increase in usage through three games in 2023-24, moving from 3.4 minutes per game as a frosh to 15 in year two, and is expected to continue serving in a prominent role for Golden and Co. throughout their second campaign at Florida. Tuesday night in the Gators' 89-68 victory over FAMU, he counted for 12 points and four rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.

Riley got poked in the eye (HURT) but CTG was asking him to try to play through it,,, with mixed results.

I agree on kugel, but I don’t think we need 15 points from him. I think we just need him to play basketball. He struck me last year as just a very solid all around player who contributes in a lot of ways. I was somewhat surprised with all the hype he got preseason (not that he’s not a really good young player just not a freak athlete and scorer) and I wonder if that has been part of the reason it seems like he is trying to force the action a bit.

I don’t think he’s a guy you just toss the ball and he goes gets buckets. He scores within the offense and does everything else on the court.

I actually think this roster sets up well for him to just play his game and let it come to him because we have several guys that can get their own shot and score.

Kugel - GS 3, Min 29.3, FG .425, 3's .167, FT .667, Pts/Gm 14.0.

Rb's 2/7/9 Ave 3, Ast 5, TO9, Stl 8, Blk 1,,,,, while dealing with a poke to the eye.

Riley brings a load of intangibles to the floor every night, but anyone can have an off night or two...

JMOHO's as always...

I'm not suggesting Aberdeen doesn't continue to play, I'm simply saying he should not get more minutes than Clayton. Clayton is clearly better. Seems like a good kid and we will need his 10-12 minutes per game. If Pullin truly is the starting PG then I say let's start pressing more as we have plenty of guard depth and can keep guys fresh.

Good points. Seems like he's trying to live up to the hype. We've got some good out of conference games which we need as it takes some games for a basically new team to gel.

The first half was the most dominant and near perfect half of basketball I've seen at Florida in a long, long time. We have depth and talent in the frontcourt and the backcourt. With Pullin back, Aberdeen only played 2 minutes and Rishwain didn't see the floor, which I thought was odd. The refs called the game extremely tight, 26 fouls on us - 24 against FSU. Our bigs have to learn to play tough defense without fouling, learn to adjust to the way the game is being called. Mark Wise made a good point by calling some of them "practice fouls, where you get away with things in practice scrimmages without refs that get called in real games. Poor free throw shooting is going to cost us a game or two unless they make serious improvement, although both teams were bad from the line last night. We missed 14, they missed 13. Turnovers have to be cut down too, as we had 20, FSU 10. But man, what a tremendous blowout win for the Gators. Controlled the boards, shot almost 52% from the field, 39% shooting 3's and just controlled the game from start to finish. As Zyon eases back into the point guard position, our freshmen continue to grow and these guys get more used to playing together, this team could surprise the "experts" this year.

As for rivalry games, last night's game was no exception. The announcers pointed how many times it got chippy on the court. Condon rightfully got called for taunting after he rejected a shot underneath the basket.

Yes. Hopefully he will learn from this. I like his energy though.

Most teams have the traditional 5 positions, but I believe that this years Gator team has only 2 positions,

The Bigs and Smalls. The Bigs can play the 3-4-5 positions, and the Smalls can play the 1-2-3 positions.
The Bigs can run the floor and even bring the ball up, while the smalls can rebound and mix it up in close.

Bigs: Handlogten 7-1 - Condon 6-11 - Samuel 6-10 - Szymczyk 6-10 - Haugh 6-9

Smalls:
Kugel 6-5 - Aberdeen 6-5 - Rishwain 6-5 - Pullin 6-4 - Richard 6-4 - Clayton 6-2 - Kublickas 6-2
Plus - Klatsky 6-4 - May 6-4 - Josefsberg - 6-4 - Andersen 6-2

This makes for a very interesting and well rounded team imo, with a bonus of injury protection.

Handlogten - 18 - 4 (needs to play cleaner)
Condon ------ 13 - 5 Fouled Out (he'll adjust eventually)
(note to Condon, this ain't Aussi football, so STFU on the court)

Aberdeen got frozen out, 2 final minutes, no stats, no development, so shame on CTG imo....
It wasn't a close game, so he should have gotten playing time instead of 2 minutes of dead time.

The iG's Game Ball goes to the entire TEAM. If they play unselfish without ego's, players and coaches, they could be pretty good by tourney time, so we'll see....

I agree with you. about playing time. We should have gotten more guys more minutes. Injuries are inevitable and these guys need to be ready. I still think with our guard depth I would press all game and roll those guys in and out.

Which is why I've been begging for Brown to get a series here and there all season, or at least SOME playing time in each game where possible....

In every sport, I've always wanted to see as many as possible get some playing time if it isn't going to cost you the win.... In blow-outs, either way winning or losing, play the roster.
