Carry over to Gator 2023-24 Basketball :-)

Twit - Maybe it was the UAA and others that were the cause, instead of Dan....

And I'm sure that the Scamdemic and UF response to it had nothing to do with the results...

Mullen helped dig his own grave being a lazy recruiter. " I will just sign classes where almost 50% of the blue chippers have huge red flags as far as making it to the season". That way I will look like I signed a pretty good class.

With that 50+ staff that they hired for Dan, plus with all of that NIL money pouring in, he definitively should have gotten Top 5 classes. Just like it's done for the new guy, right??? 😎

Actually Napier seems to have that down now. It's his offense that scares me.

Billy recruits a little better with a 50+ staff and NIL money??? Well Duh....

While Dan couldn't recruit, but he could take a 2 star QB to the SECe-C with over 4K passing Yds and 41 TD's, while Billy went 6-7 with the #4 NFL draft pick QB-dt....... WTF-over???

It is amusing to me that you haters never want to address the massive burden that the Scamdemic put on Dan and Mile, along with Socialist-U's moronic and guttless response to it had.
Nor the massive advantage that the NIL money has, along with Billy's 50+ staff to carry his recruiting load.

Look, Dan and Mike are gonzo. What matters now is what Billy and Todd do, with way more help than the previous guys ever got. Moving on....................

Mullen was a great offensive mind, but his recruiting classes while decently ranked on signing day, by first kickoff did not hold together. Mike White is a good guy, just an average coach. He took what had become a blue blood program and turned it into middle of the pack in an average basketball conference. White was the opposite of Dan, a very good recruiter just not a good X and Os guy. Blaming covid or the administration is just childish and silly as other coaches had success. Big year for Golden...needs to show some significant improvement. While the offense was greatly improved statistically over White's, the wins are what counts and he fell short there.

Well Franks was his preferred QB. He refused to let Trask be the clear starter even after Franks tried to give the Miami game away. It took Franks getting injured for him to do it. Trask was a Mac recruit

Many fans were begging for Trask early on...even earlier than some who claim to be first on board the Trask Train.

I think I was calling for Jones to get his chance but would have took a chance with Trask any day over what Franks was doing. Mullen has always been a hard head on going with experience at QB though. If we didn't have that defense the first 2 years it would have been real ugly.under Franks.

Mullen also took away snaps that season from Trask for Jones. He sat Trask for a series in that shootout with LSU and may have cost us the game.

If that's aimed at me Cg1, then you're even more ignorant that is usual for you.

I watched Trask's HS film, read what his HS coach said about him when he first committed to UF, and I wanted him to get a chance to start before Franks.

The dunnygoater told me that Trask was a 2-star waste of a ship that wasn't even a starter for his HS team, while Franks was an all world 4-star. I also wanted either over Del Rio, Appleby, or Zaire.
Nobody posting here was before me on Trask, and that's just a fact, jack.
Just like I'm the first, and virtually the only one, that's wanted Brown over either of the M&M xfers.

PS - Just like I'm the one that's been calling for Smack to be the XPt and FG kicker since last season.
While nobody is correct every time on every thing, I'm right more often than i'm wrong. 😜

Some of you don't have a clue concerning the internal team politics, or the external outside interference with who gets in school or who gets to play..... If you think that the HC makes all of the calls and makes all of the decisions, then that explains a lot to me about your clueless postings.

Damn it must be hard going through life knowing you're the smartest guy in the room!! How do you do it surrounded by all of us mere nitwit mortals?

I was surprised when I watched Trask as a backup in high school. He was making real nice throws with receivers covered some. No way he wouldn't have at least been a 3 star if he wasn't the backup to King.

I see that Reading Comp is not your forte Cg1,,,, but at least you leave me lmao.

Trask's HS coach said that someday they'd probably do a 30-30 on him for not starting Trask.

He said that he gave Trask the 2nd and 4th series in every game, not just the back-up QB's mop-up snaps in blow-outs.

Trask's Sr year he threw for 17 TD's to ZERO interceptions.
Sr at UF - 43 TD's to 8 Ints.

And OC/QB's Doug Nussmeier is the one that was responsible for bringing in Trask, not McLame.

So if the OC talks to someone before the HC the head coach can't claim him as their recruit?

Fever, that's stupid, even for you....

Nuss went out to TX to watch him at practice and is responsible for his offer.
McLame let Nuss have him.
If you want to tell yourself that means that McLame recruited him, fine wid-me...

McLame was busy bringing in xfer QB Del Rio,,, and playing him over everyone else.

The HC has to ultimately take the recruit and I doubt too many UF head coaches in recent years usually first met with a non-blue chipper rated recruit without a position coach or coordinator seeing them first.

Yep, I'm going wid you on this feveredbrains, recruiting is all on the HC, nobody else.

So, where does your position lead us?
Napier xfer Miller = 3 - 30 OreSt, injured and then benched in favor of Max.
Mertz - 4-2, 27 Pts/Gm, double digit sacks already, and around 6 yds/attempt.

While Max gets mostly ignored for 2 seasons.
Passing - 6 of 7, 85.7%, for 50 Yds, 8.3 Yds/Comp, L-16, Zero TD's, Int's, or sacks.
Rushing - one scramble run called back on a Boardingham holding call.

Your swing.....

While the clueless trolls watch, but never understand what they are watching, and worse, they are ignorant of the politics that are running things....

More reasons for hope in the upcoming season...

Growing up, Micah Handlogten didn't have to look far for advice.
His father, Ben Handlogten, had spent nearly a decade playing professional basketball, and Micah, looking to carve out a career in the game of his own, looked to heed his words of wisdom.

"Just out-hustle everybody. If you’re the hardest-working player on the floor," Handlogten said, "you’re going to be the most successful."

It's still early in Micah Handlogten's career, but it's clear the 7-1 center listened. By the end of the year, he would be deemed the Sun Belt's Freshman of the Year after finishing 11th in the nation in blocked shots per game and 16th in rebounding, and he opted to challenge himself at a greater level as a sophomore, leading Handlogten to enter his name into the NCAA's transfer portal.

For Golden and his staff, there's a degree to which Condon's encouraging start to his collegiate tenure is validation for their roster-building strategy, which the Gator head coach said will include international pursuits "as long as we're at Florida."

"You have a lot of guys who are focused and have a great understanding of why they're coming over,"
Golden said during his appearance at SEC Media Day in Birmingham, Alabama, on Wednesday. "I think when you put those things together, it explains a lot. International players have done really well in our programs."

C Alex Condon 6-11 230 Fr - Perth, Australia
PG Kajus Kublickas 6-2 171 Fr - Kaunas, Lithuania
PF/C Aleks Szymczyk 6-10 260 So - Frankfurt, Germany (broken foot, returns in Dec)
PF/C Tyrese Samuel 6-10 239 Grad-Sr - Canada, Seton Hall xfer
