No thank you.

Give me an "F".

I earned it.

I rode in one for 30 minutes last Friday and I wasn't impressed. Sort of like a large skateboard with an awesome iPad for a screen.
They are not "nice" cars. They are fads. They are fun...to people who like acceleration. Other than that...they are BIG PITA'S.

About that.

Something I absolutely love about Tesla is that brain. There's any number of problems that can and have been fixed by downstream over the air upgrades that would have required a massive recall in a normal vehicle.

That said imagine if someone hacked into Teslas server and disabled every Tesla until a ransom was paid.

Apple, that bastion and leading light of technology, whose secure cloud was supposed to be the future, gave us The Fappening.

And that was over naked celebrities.

I'm telling you, the chassis was like a solid board. I've never felt another car like it. Going over bumps it felt like the suspension was going to fall apart and it sounded cheap. Maybe it's because I was in the back seat?

And the weight - you could feel how the COG was extremely low and the just how heavy that made the car feel. It's very different, not sure in a good way.

The tech was cool, and I liked the matte woodgrain trim and overall design of the interior. But the seats felt like crappy vinyl and were squishy like a domestic car (I've driven or owned BMW's since I was 17, basically the opposite).

Overall, cool toy. I might someday be interested if I needed an "extra" car, although there are several cars that I think would be higher on the list.

There are reports I've heard of those same updates causing problems, but I can't back that up with examples (because I don't really care to look it up).

But when a car is a part of the internet of things, it can be controlled.

Good luck doing that with my 2014 Tundra. Tech on that truck is on par with a John Deere tractor.

Bad firmware upgrades usually bork a system until a patch or hotfix is applied. It stands to reason that Tesla has learned from the open source community and collects data anonymously from every vehicle to be proactive. But me not being able to use open office is not the same as me not being able to use my vehicle. I wonder if ota upgrades are only applied when the vehicle is charging or not in motion?

I’m not scared.

I just don’t want one. I need a truck, my wife lovers her Rover, my extra car is free and perfect for our needs and there’s no way I’d get one of those for my kids.

I’m good with the fleet I have rn, and I’m not going to benefit much from an EV.

I am not suggesting that you buy one, i am simply saying to test drive a model S so you can understand what all the hype is about. its like trying sushi for somebody from alabama or oklahoma...

youre not, you run your trap on subjects you are cluelss about. this is an easy one to fix, go for the test drive.
No thanks.

You know what the car was that the Model Y beat out? The Corolla.

I don’t want that either.

I’m not a sheep, I march to my own drum when it comes to the cars I own. Popularity isn’t a factor.

You need to educate yourself, it’s not too late…
I'm pretty educated.

I'm sorry it is so troubling, but I don't want your EV.

And read the article, a 30% increase in net sales was only a 1.2% increase in market share (only 7.7%)...wait for it...because EV's aren't close to price parity.

And look at the share by manufacturer...only one company even matters to the industry.

From someone that knows...the big 3 are about to scrap plans to make these in large numbers because the tax laws are too confusing, and there is VERY little interest in them. They are kind of faddish, and the people who like them have all bought them. THANK GOD this boondoggle will crash and burn before they F up my business.

I think it's a segment that should comprise 8-12% of the total market IMO, and if they can get prices down perhaps more. There are owners who they make sense for, depending on what you need from a vehicle.

It'll be really interesting to see states, like mine, who have a mandatory 35% sales mix requirement in 2030 and a 100% mandate by 2035.

When the gov't forces free markets industry takes the brunt of the backlash.

The only one taking out their ass is you begging for people to drive a 3rd hand me down Tesla like yours every time someone brings up facts about why we shouldn't own one.

You should read what you post.

"GM isn't too far removed from a 2023 where it battled product delays, weak EV demand, and issues with its autonomous driving Cruise operation."

youre not, youre unconsciously unaware. most sheep are. You are only looking at price, that comes later, right now its still like a flat screen versus box tv, its a far superior car thats getting more and more affordable and superior by the year. Go test drive a tessy.

I do not think EV's are quite as bad as a flat screen...but I see you are finally listening to the smarter people here. You have to step back and ask yourself sometime..."I am all out on a limb here by myself....am I the smart one..or is it the other way around"? I am glad you are finally seeing the light a bit. Some of this dribble I am embarrassed FOR you.
