3rd most ESPN 300 recruits

We will see how it all goes based on who signs and who doesn’t but as of right now this class has lots of quality & blue chippers. The average rating of the class is very high as well but it is just lower in quantity.

It’s a good class but not a great/elite recruiting class. Probably about 2-3 elite players short of being an elite class.

Heading into ESD, Bama has 19, Georgia 17 and then Florida with 16....so while the recruiting ranking of 10 or so may seem low, the class has tons of quality....maybe the sky isn't falling?

We aren't getting it done with the composite 5 stars and the highest composite 4 star recruits like some other top teams. In the SEC with this current recruiting you would need Napier to be hitting on a bunch of his recruits or either supplementing with real good players from the portal to have sustained success imo. I think this is about the best he can do in high school recruiting with the NIL situation however and have no doubt if he could match others with that he would have a top 5 class.

If you would have told me a few years back we upgraded the facilities like we did and that Georgia was in the position they are in while we are now in the position we are in I would have never believed it.

Paco,

We may be gaining a TE & losing an Edge Rusher - Care to comment ?

Our 4 stars are actually rated pretty high. True we have 0 five star commits, but then again I think only 9 schools have at least 1 five star committed. We shall see if it holds together.

Well, if we lose multiple D-line targets UCF, I never want to hear another word about Billy or Spencer being an elite recruiter.
I don’t think it is all Nixon’s decision based on what I’m hearing. He was committed to UCF at one point and flipped to UF. I don’t think he will be receiving an LOI tomorrow from UF. A mutual parting of ways so to speak.

I don't think we have that many real high composite 4 stars compared to some others but I would have to look again. That is how some other teams are in front of us despite having less blue chippers overall.

Paco,

Damn !

Not sure which one we need more.

No TEs in this class
AND
Our D-Line needs a great deal of help especially when it comes to setting the edge !

Fever,

Which is more important -
the ranking of our recruiting class
or
actuallys signing & keeping payers who will help us to become a better SEC football team ?

So, is this a Mullen-like, the kid just isn’t going to get into UF situation? Not sure that changes my evaluation much.

Figures this clown would post something like this. I wonder if he is waiting to announce he bought one of our current recruits tomorrow just to talk mess about UF.

Napier has done well but nowadays you wonder, how many stick after 1 or 2 years? I hate that it's become that but the transfer portal has been shredding former top classes

I would be absolutely terrified if my attorney didn't know how to spell "cancellation" or allowed staff to post things in his name who didn't either.

His answer to that was UF knows they are losing when they have to bring up not using spell check and that we will keep getting whipped in the NIL game because we don't know what we are doing or words to that effect basically. 🤣

It's worse than just that. A lawyer's stock in trade is a command of the language. That post has sentence fragments, odd capitalizations, poor grammar...really, it looks more like a post from a kid.

Again if my lawyer has that low a level of attention to detail I'd take a hard pass.

Just a FYI....
The so-called No recruiting Dan's 1st full year recruiting class in 2019

9. UF - 25 -- 0 - 16 - 8 (plus 4-star xfer Greenard)

13 espn 300 kids in that class. Not Mullen's highest rated class, but it had the most E300 kids I believe. Napier currently has 16 espn 300. We shall see where it finishes when all said and done, but so far more than Mullen ever signed.

A HC with very solid coaching ability and 3-4 star recruits.
OR
A HC that is a mediocre HC, but can recruit 4-5 stars.

The difference usually being the coaching abilities of rest of the coaching staff.
We'll see how it all shakes out as time goes by....

Some of the differences between Mullen and Napier recruiting abilities:

1. Dan's last 2 season were during the UF Admin supported Scamdemic.
No other Gator HC has ever had to deal with that 2 year load of BS.

2. The Brand New Heavener Complex is the University of Florida's new eco-friendly, highly sustainable, athletic-focused Gator recruiting magnet. The design includes the Gator Room, expansion of the strength & conditioning room (doubling its original size), an impressive entry, hall of fame and lobby area leading to football offices which will greet recruits, parents and donors.

3. The massive difference in the size of their Football Support Staffs.....

Ignore all of that, and you are a football recruiting hypocrite IMO.... 🤓

Mullen's recruiting sucked as far as identifying talent. If you take away the recruits he inherited from McElwain that first class its really bad. His one class he just took every 4 star he could find that wasn't qualifying grades wise or for some other reason (one couldn't get a VISA approved I think) and brought in a QB with issues that gets accused of rape right off the bat I think it was. McElwain couldnt coach worth a damn but at least he brought in a lot of NFL talent with his 4 stars unlike Mullen.

I'll quit there, because there is carry over, both before and after Dan was the HC....

I don't give Mullen credit for Pitts or Pierce as they were McElwain recruits that decided to stay with the class.

That's okay fevered, because I don't give you much credit either... 😜 ---- 😁

2023 Recruits by Positions:

5 DL
5 DB
1 ILB
1 OLB
-----
4 WR
3 OL
1 QB
1 RB
1 TE (2022 grayshirt Livingston)
==========

LT Richard Gouraige starter- Sr-Grad NFL
RG O'Cyrus Torrence starter - Jr ED to NFL
-----
RT Michael Tarquin - starter, xfer-out
LG Ethan White - starter, xfer-out

White is the 22nd scholarship Florida player to announce plans to transfer this off season and the 4th to do so since the bowl game

So who's left from the 2022 OL?
OC Kingsley Equakun - starter
OT Austin Barber - 6th Man - swing tackle
==========

Three Questions to ask....

1) Who left initially after Dan was fired and Napier hired in Nov 2021?
2) Who is leaving or has already left, after going through a season with Napier & staff?
3) Explain (or make excuses for) the then, and the now departures....

What the iG believes for 2023?
The incoming class + xfer-ins had better be,,, really good and be ready to go play....

O line is looking really concerning with all these losses. The starting unit and the depth for 2023. Trying to picture Mertz or one of the freshman QBs doing good against these SEC defenses and its hard to picture that unless some young guys are really ready to step up on the O line that didn't play much this season. Barber is the only one I think that will excel for sure as I saw enough of him to see he will be good. Equakun is serviceable but not that good. We better hope we can find 3 other starters on the O line that can play decent or things could get ugly.
