2021-22 Basketball Primer

I'm sure the SEC will slap UF with a fine for the few fans running onto the court. I remember the idiot NC State fans doing that after they beat Duke 9 years ago.

Gator women's basketball just got through playing at LSU in front of a sold out stadium of 13,600 in what the announcers said was the 4th largest crowd to ever watch a women's college basketball game. This was a game for 2nd place in the SEC. The Gators led by 1 at the half, but couldn't hold off LSU, as they lost 66-61. Florida played hard with great defense, holding LSU to 33% shooting from the field, 0-8 shooting 3's, but the Gators only shot 37% from the field, 4-18 shooting 3's. There were 2 big difference: 1. Florida had 15 turnovers, which LSY converted to 16 points; LSU had 11 turnovers, which Florida only converted to 2 points. 2. The Gators were only 11-22 from the free throw line, while LSU was 22-32. I'm NOT a women's basketball fan, but I am am fan of this year's Gator team and their coach.

Good run for the ladies. Look forward to see how deep of a tourney run they can make.

The NET rankings still have us at # 49 so to have any chance to get in based on just the regular season we would probably need to go 3-1 in these final 4 games with a win over Arkansas or KY. If we go 2-2 we will probably have to have a couple of nice wins in the SEC tournament to get in.

9-9 will have us squarely on the bubble. Would need at least 1 win probably 2 in SECT.

Wait, no stats and stunning insight after the Kentucky and AM losses?
I enjoy watching the games,,, one at a time and enjoy the majority of games that are wins.
I'll let the haters handle the minority losses and the constant whining about it.

When winning championships is all you care about and all that you judge a coach on, then you spend your time sniveling and whining constantly, while I just continue to appreciate ALL of what Mike brings to the Gators Basketball program.

You do it your way and whine/snivel your time away, and I'll continue to do it my way and be happy and satisfied with the program as a whole.

It’s a good way to avoid stress. I usually change the channel and come back later after I’ve calmed down.

Nick, I record them and know the outcomes before watching the games to relieve my old-guy stress levels.

The losses I watch once and then I usually dump them.
The wins I usually watch twice over a few days and then dump them.
Takes all of the stress out of watching them live...
😉

How about just being close to a championship? Can we care about that or does that fall under the whine/snivel category too?

Hater moe-rons are free to be who they are, and to do whatever they do.

And I don't care what you do or don't do.
Whine and snivel away is just fine with me, because that's on you, not me.

For someone that doesn't care what I do or don't do you sure do seem to care...

Because Insta is a empathetic sniveller….. UF fans express frustration with White, and he snivels on behalf of the coach….. as if the coach is defenseless. He’s such a loyal fan, who’ll be a surrogate sniveller on behalf of any UF coach who still draws a UF paycheck

…… once that coach is gone though, he’ll chide their manhood like a 4th grade taunt champ

LOL!!!!!!

And dog-pokers and Little Loopy Lizzie get a free shot most of the time cause I have them on ignore.... 😜

Goodness. Guys played very hard. Great effort. But we are very poorly coached in stretches. Lose 1 more game and that will do it unless we can have a miracle run.

The Gators played really hard tonight vs. Arkansas and Colin Castleton outplayed their star Jaylen Williams. But the Razorbacks simply have a better team. Our guys were tough and hung in there most of the way, but talent won out in the end.

Fantastic effort. Arky has a really strong recruiting class coming in next year. They are going to be very strong next year. Our inability to rebound really hurt down the stretch. Arky had about 6 points in a 3 min span off offensive rebounds. White has an eversion to size.

I guess you'll be dumping this game soon. Oh well, back to reality by losing consecutively to Arkansas for the first time since 1996.

Well, it could have been worse and been another game with a 20 point half or gotten completely blown out.

Castleton had an amazing game.

Winning that game would have done wonders for UF. They would still be on the bubble, but I think they would get in by finishing 2-1 for the remainder of the season and a quick exit from the SEC tourney.

Now? Imo, they have to go win all three games to close out the season....and I doubt we're beating UK.

Lose to either UGA or Vandy and we are definitely done.

Florida AD after he canned Mullen:

"The challenge has been we haven't been able to sustain it," Stricklin said. "You've got to put really good structure and culture in place in order to sustain a high level over a long period of time, and that's going forward what we've got to focus on."

Time to finally pull the trigger to put almost all of us out of our misery.

Will probably need to win all 3 to get in or go 2-1 plus get 2 SECT wins and one of those 2 SECT wins would need to be one of the top 6 seeds.

Mike White has proven it's impossible to go on 5-1 stretch in the SEC this season. How we won 3 straight to go 3-3(after starting 0-3) is beyond me.
For this very reason we aren’t making the NCAA tournament IMO. I hope I am wrong or although I never root against UF part of me thinks it would be better to just miss the tournament so White gets the axe (hopefully).

Can we get your post game breakdown?
“We did a horrible job on the glass as a team and at certain times they just bullied us,” Castleton said.

Added senior forward Anthony Duruji: “I think we need to dial in and continue to respond.” According to Duruji, the team is abundantly aware that it will have to match Castelton’s intensity. “We have to be desperate,” he said. “We have to be urgent now. We’ve got another one coming up on Saturday, we’re off tomorrow. We’ve got to respond. Like I said, continue to get better and take advantage of these opportunities coming down.”

Edit PS -- FIRE MIKE WHITE and
the moe-ron AD that gave him a raise and extended his contract,,,
and the long time clueless twits in the UAA that hired them both....

The expression of your love for UF to never win the SEC or get a championship is one of the most consistant things I've read here.

A die-hard nole would have more compassion on our program sooner than the time limit you would grant our coaches before a change is made.

Read this very slowly,,,,, FIRE MIKE WHITE.

He's the worst B-Ball coach in UF history, and any dud out there could do better, so get on with it already...
