2024-25 Basketball,,, all things considered...

Dude it's gotten to the point where people that don't even like Florida, in fact people that despise UF can see it, it's not just something we've created in our heads..
Of course it's in your heads. Some Houston fans will be complaining about the refs tonight, too, ready to blame them if their team loses. Just likeUCONN's coach and a lot of their fans did after UF knocked them out. Just like a bunch of Auburn fans did Saturday, although Charles Barkley admitted the best team won. ALL fans allow their bias to affect their perception of what's going on.
But keep on convincing yourself to stay paranoid - after all somebody out there MAY be out to get you. But it ain't the refs or the NCAA. Sheesh!

Then who is it then? You're accidentally getting closer, and closer...

It just gets so tiresome and old when we read threads on all sports and see so many people whining about the officials, refs, umpires, judges, etc. The Gators NEVER lose at anything. We're always robbed by some partisan officials who are out to make sure we lose. It's crazy and ridiculous. Other programs and schools have excellent players and coaches, too, and sometimes they are simply better than us. Win with class and lose with dignity. Whining when you lose shows lack of respect for the game and a total lack of class, IMO.

oh we've lost PLENTY, have you been around the last 12 years of both sports?

We're one of the most physical teams in the NCAA and there is ZERO bias against Florida. We, also, foul. Refs do their best and in no way are they going to favor one team over another. If we win it will be because we played better. If we lose it will be because Houston played better. People bitched about the refs in the Auburn game and yet we shot 30 free throws to their 23 and were called for only 15 fouls to Auburn's 22. Of course, there were a few plays where it looked like the refs missed a call against Auburn, but I also saw just as many calls that were missed or went uncalled when our guys fouled. The way the game has evolved, much more physicality is allowed now than say 15-20 years ago and they simply can't call everything. The bias is with Gator fans (actually fans of every team who see games through their own biased perspective), not the refs, IMO.
Those stats don't tell the story ocala,,, IF: Auburn committed 50 fouls and got called on 30, while U committed 30 fouls and go called on 23.... It takes the eye test, not just the numbers.

The officials must meet the BIC test and pass it: Bias - Incompetence - Corruption
Any one or some combination of those 3 at different points in a game, can and has changed the outcome of games,,,, IMOHO.

From what I read, the same officials won't be at tonight's game.
There were plenty of sketchy calls tonight. That one on Chin was an abomination. Then they T'd him up for bouncing the ball. That was pure bullshit. The powers that be do not like us, that is a fact. But it isn't some great conspiracy, it is just pure bias by the establishment sports world, which is controlled by Lost Wages (Vegas). Wait........maybe there is a conspiracy.

Totally disagree. The Technical foul was justified. You can't do what he did and Coach Golden never protested it. The officials let them bang each other the first half and then started calling evrything the second half. We adjusted better to the refs than they did. Houston was called for 19 fouls, Florida 11. We were 17-21 from the free throw line, they were 9-14. To call out the refs is STUPID!. We won the game at the free trow line and are national champs and we did it playing Houston's style of play. Quit bashing the refs and just appreciate the fact that the Gators are national champs!!!

C'mon man. Are you still denying the 2003 Swindle in the Swamp? 😂 We were supposed to be knocked out by Auburn and not even get this far. Have you not read some of the lead up to this game?

If only Chinlyeu kept his cool, because the guy he fouled missed the front end of a two shot FT.

Bad officiatiating has cost us a couple of times here and there over the years/decades. But it happens to every school every once it a while. To think that there is some type of hidden conspiracy agains the University of Florida is idiotic and really, truly STUPID. Believe what you want. But we won the national title!!! Houston was called for 19 fouls tonight to our 11. We shot 21 free throws to their 14. How is that anti-Gator bias? Ridiculous, man. Can't you just celebrate our national title without believing in some kind of crazy conspiracy against the Gators. Do you know how goofy that is??!!

BIC ---- (the iG after 65+ years of watching sports at all levels, JMOHO's of course)

Bias - The ref, for a myriad of personal reasons, let's that drift his call against one team.

Incompetence
- Has no bias, just a really poor official that should not be calling games above pee--wee....

Corrupt - No Bias, but is being paid or threatened by someone.

And one, or any combination, resulting in a misplaced win,,, or a loss.
It doesn't take some CIA sponsored conspiracy to get there, imo, to believe otherwise is naive.

The BIC test doesn't apply to but a few games. Most bad calls are just normal human errors.
The ongoing discussion will always be on the difference of opinions of those watching any particular game.

JMOHO, one or more of the 3 refs had at least a modest lean in favor UH
The early block on Martin's attempted dunk was an uncalled foul on UH, it began there.
There were others.....

32-4, SEC Tourney Champs, earning a 1 Seed.

S-16 = Good enough to get there.
UF 85 - 69 Worford
UF 79 - 75 UConn

E-8 to F-4 = Lucky --- UF 84 - 79 TxTech

Last 2 Games = Double Lucky
UF 79 - 73 AU
UF 65 - 63 UH

Massive Grats/Props to the TEAM that won the NC for the Gators!

Luck my ass! Tom Izzo or whoever said that is an idiot at this point. When MSU beat Florida in 2000. That was not luck, they also had talent but far more experience than UF and had a great run consistently prior to winning their 2nd title(as Magic Johnson led them to a title in 1979).
