If the first tier falls through…

And we’re scrounging through the slim pickins of the second tier…who are no more credentialed than Napier was…I think we should stand.

Spend the money we would’ve otherwise wasted on buyouts and new hires on PLAYERS.

Do I think Napier will get max production out of those players? Probably not. But it still seems like a better utilization of resources than trying…again…to find a diamond in the rough and dig ourselves deeper into a financial hole with no good reason to believe that the next hire will be any better.

Football Nobody is Talking About the Game Tomorrow

It's really depressing to see the board during the week of a game have basically no conversation about the game. I think I speak for most of us by saying this is the most hopeless I've ever felt about the program.

As for the game tomorrow, I unfortunately think we're going to lose. Mississippi State is bad, but we're terrible and we're not good on the road under Napier. I see it as a 31-24 type game with us scoring late to make it respectable

Football Weekly HS Update

What happened to these type of posts?

For the third of four games this season, the Dreadnaughts faced a school with state championship aspirations. The game against Booker T. Washington (Miami) was supposed to be a battle, a close game. The Dreadnaughts harpoon the Tornadoes, 48-13. Ben Hanks, Jr. caught a TD pass for BTW. Lakeland is now 4-0 with wins against Miami Central, Lake Mary, Winter Haven and BTW.

Starkville...anyone going??

I should arrive around 7pm and will be posted up @ The Russell Inn bar drinking bourbon so swing by for 1 if you have time.

New Story Note on blue-chip Gator commitment/status

Was working some sources near the Josh Moore camp and things have been pretty straight forward there. He wants to be a Gator and at a minimum, the ball will remain in UF's court right now and during a potential transition. Yes, Miami and FSU are very consistent with him and the Hurricanes are working towards keeping him close to home, but he continues to visit Gainesville and honor his commitment until further notice. Obviously if something changes at the top it could lead to a change of plans, but I'm told at a minimum, Moore will hold off on anything knee-jerk and try to continue to give UF the benefit of the doubt thereafter.

There is one name his camp has heard, should a change go down, and if it's that experienced coach moving on from one SEC job to another -- it would be somewhat ideal at least in this one recruitment.

New Story Florida Gators versus Mississippi State Bulldogs Preview

Florida Gators versus Mississippi State Bulldogs Preview
(HECTOR)

The Florida Gators will hit the road for the first time in the 2024 season. The Gators will head west to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Both programs are coming off tough losses in their previous games.

Florida dropped their first SEC game of the season against Texas A&M 33-20. Mississippi State lost to Toledo 41-17 at home. This will be Mississippi State’s first SEC game of the season. Here is the preview of the Florida Gators versus Mississippi State Bulldog game.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will host the Florida Gators for their first SEC matchup. The Bulldogs will be led by their head coach, Jeff Lebby, who’s entering his first season as the head coach for Mississippi State.

The Mississippi State offense will be led by their quarterback, Blake Shapen. The Baylor transfer has carried the Mississippi State offense for most of the season. Shapen has completed 70.1% of his passes for 834 yards, eight total touchdowns, and one interception.

Junior wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. is another transfer who has played very well for the Bulldogs. The former Jackson State and Louisville transfer has been the leading receiver for Mississippi State. Coleman has recorded sixteen receptions for 268 yards and three touchdowns.

The Mississippi State defense is also coming off a rough weekend in which they struggled against Toledo’s offense. Junior linebacker Brendan Jennings has made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs. He has fifteen total tackles on the season with two tackles for loss and a sack.

Sophomore linebacker Isaac Smith has been the leading tackle for Mississippi State’s defense. Smith has recorded 43 total tackles including 17 solo tackles and one pass breakup. Two other Mississippi State players to watch this Saturday are running back Keyvone Lee and linebacker Stone Blaton.

Florida Gators

The Florida Gators are coming into this game needing a win badly to try to save their season from completely going down the drain. Florida has struggled to win games on the season for the past couple of seasons. In the Billy Napier era, the Gators have a 2-10 record away from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The Florida Gators offense will be led by redshirt senior quarterback Graham Mertz. The former Wisconsin transfer will start the game but is expected to share some playing time with freshman DJ Lagway.

Senior running back Montrell Johnson is coming off probably the worst game in his collegiate career. Johnson rushed for -7 in seven carries last Saturday. However, he has rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games of the season.

The Florida defense continues to be the biggest weakness for the Gators. Florida struggled against a backup quarterback last Saturday who had close to 300 yards of total offense and three touchdowns.

Redshirt junior EDGE rusher Tyreak Sapp has been one of the few defensive players producing this season. Sapp has eleven total tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Two other Gators players to watch this Saturday are wide receiver Elijhah Badger and linebacker Shemar James.

Prayers requested

Gator family,

I’m in a state of both hurt and anger tonight, as I’ve just received the news of a close personal special operations brother that has taken his life. He falls in the category of 22 a day. I know his wife and 3 kids very well, and I’m truly hurting for them.

I’m not sure if I’m just here to vent or to know if my hurt and anger is well placed. He and I have shared many experiences- same ops- and he was the epitome of a teammate. He was always willing to put his country and brothers above his personal well being.

Where are we going wrong to not see this coming? Are our funds going elsewhere (illegals) that could be added to our warriors? Not trying to make this political but I’m seriously tired of my brothers exiting this life outside of battle. This is my 4th friend to have taken his own life.

I simply ask you my 🐊 family for a prayer. For those who have given all for us and this great country. I know we are caught up in our 🐊 football - please never forget there is a reason we can do this. Men who are willing to do bad and terrible things necessary for freedom.

I may not be active duty any longer, but the last few years I’ve sacrificed footbal for USG support to Ukraine and then Israel. Now you know why our lack of effort on the football field pisses me off, when others know the definition of maximum effort and devotion.

God bless you my brothers and sisters. Take this time to find solice in our family on here. I truly look forward to meeting each of you in person in the years to come.

Mike
