New Story 1st and Ten User Email list

If you would like to be notified of what Jason's next move is and maybe you don't do Discord or Twitter, simply add your name to the list once you click the link below. Just a username and email address is sufficient, but feel free to leave anything else you might feel relevant.

I will be in touch when we know more.

I will pull the link and delete this thread on Monday Evening so it does not survive onto On3.

Google Sheets: Email list

If you have trouble getting in and just want to leave it in here in this thread, I will add to the list on Monday before I delete.

New Story Just wanted to say this re 1st and Ten Florida

I am guessing that Jason is likely unable to speak on this topic. But my gut tells me that we all should be expecting big changes on this site in the next 5 days. This platform will likely be gone, and we may be "directed" to the On3 site. My favorite website list will be reduced by one.

I was on On3 for a while before it became unbearable. I joined Jason here on Rivals and it has been an absolute blast. I would imagine that there are some good people on On3. But I KNOW that there are lot of great people on this site. And I will miss you peeps.

In case an asteroid is heading our way, and we will not exist in this format come Tuesday, I simply want to say thank you to all the fine people here and to let you know how much fun this ride has been. We have not always gotten along nor agreed with each other. But we have agonized, complained, stressed-out, laughed, celebrated, and had a blast -- all under the blessing of being Florida Gators.

Jason has done an amazing job here. We are all lucky to have been a part of it. How fitting that we won a Natty in Basketball just 80 days ago. And a lot of people on this site contributed to that success. Watching those nets being cut down in San Antonio was the highlight for me. Not a bad way to go out.

If we somehow do not reconnect, I just wanted you to know that I have enjoyed every second of hanging out with you guys and girls. You are the best of Gator Nation.

Thank you, Jason.

Go Gators.

New Story First and 10 Discord server (chat room)

I created a Discord server exclusively for this group. It’s called:

First and 10 2.0

It’s a temporary place where we can stay in touch and get updates on where we’re going to land.

For those not savvy in the ways of Discord, it’s really simple. Simply download the discord app and register an account just like you did when you joined here. Then, search for the name of the server (it’s actually a chat room, but Discord calls it a server). There’s a direct link to the server below.

Here for my comeuppance

Go ahead. Let me have it. I could try to rationalize a bunch of things at the margins but the bottom line is you all were right on Israel and Iran and I was wrong. Looks likely that tariffs are going to come out favorably as well.

Trump is running things like a total boss and I’ve been dithering about like a soy boy.

It is what it is.

Thank you to Jason and Gator-B

No idea what's going down after next Monday, but thank you to @JasonHigdon and @Gator-B for the great job you guys have done with this site since you took over 3 1/2 years ago.

Of course Jason does a superb job covering recruiting and Gator sports and keeping us informed on all things UF, but I'd also like to give a special shout out to Gator-B, who does a tremendous job with the day-to-day behind the scenes stuff and keeps the message boards humming along like clockwork.

It is truly a team effort and those guys are the best ...

Looking forward to 2025 Gator Football

Lagway's projected backup for 2025:

QB-pp Harrison Bailey 6-5 230 - 6th Yr Sr - Tn-UNLV-UL xfer - Marietta, GA

P 2024 - 24 of 33 72.7% for 227 Yds, 6.9 Ave, 3 TD, 0 Int, L-28
2024 Bowl vs Wash - 16 of 25, 64% for 164 Yds, 6.6 Ave, 3 TD, 0 Int L-28, 0 Sac
3 Team Career - 108 of 171, 60.7% for 1,190 Yds, 11.0 Ave, 10 TD, 3 Int, 19 Sac, L-74
Rushing - 44 for -4 Yds, 2 TD - A few good runs, but ate up by 19 sacks.
A career backup QB, so here's to hoping DJ stays healthy....
==============

Just the iG,,,, but I'd work hard with the incoming recruit to see if he could be the backup or #3 and get playing time for 2026 season backup preparation. I'm not much on xfer QB's as anyone reading here long time already knows. (hare today, goon tomorrow)

QB Tramell Jones 6-1 210 **** - Mandarin/Jacksonville - Injured, only 2 Sr Gms.
HS Career 35 Gms:
P - 451 of 760 59.3% for 7,197 Yds, 16.0 Ave, 75TD, 21 Int, L-91
R - 56 for 356 Yds, 6.4 YPC, 2 TD's, L-12

Every 2024 roster QB except Mertz is back for 2025, so depth, but without much quality imo.

WINNING

Living and working in Maryland has been hard. BUT, I am really enjoying listening to the libs/dems in my office bitch/moan/complain about everything Trump has done the past few weeks.

Just today - heard one complaining about the cost of food in general , but especially the cost of eggs, and then wishing ill well on everyone who voted for him. Oh sure, I could have tried to explain that it was Biden and his policies and spending that caused all the problems, and that it will take a little time for Trump to fix the mess that Biden left, including the killing off of millions of chickens to protect against the bird flu, BUT, I knew she wouldn't believe me anyways. So, I just smile a little and laugh to myself listening.

Football RedZone & Most Likely List Updated: Will the Gators Go 5 for the Next 5? You Tell Me (6/26)

June 26th: UPDATE --Key Announcement Dates coming up for Head Coach Billy Napier & The Gators! Can they go five for five? I mean that would be insane, no? If you were to land three of the five that would be insane imo anything more than that is a Grand Slam especially if you landed one of the DL to go with Hester and Morris...

NonGator Jon Jones: What do you think?

Jon Jones: What do you think?

There is no question that he is the No. 1 GOAT in the MMA world - that is not a question that even needs to be asked.

I understand people want to talk to stir up controversy, but how can you criticize Jon Jones for retiring at the age of 37, by the way? Sure, people want to say you must fight Tom Aspinall to secure your legacy - no, he doesn't come on with that nonsense. Would it be appealing to watch? Sure, it would right up until Jones chokes him out, but that is not the point. Let's fast forward a bit.

Jon Jones fights Aspinall and chokes him out, then two years down the road, here comes some other hot shot Heavyweight calling out Jon Jones? Does Jon Jones also have to fight that guy at 39 years of age to secure his legacy again? This guy has "earned" the right to retire after almost 20 years of fighting and the age of 37-years of age, regardless of who wants to fight him for the biggest payday in their career. Aspinall is no dummy. He wants that MEGA payday he would get from stepping into the ring with the GOAT.

By the way, huge fight this Saturday night - Thoughts on Ilia vs. Charles O?
