New Story Clemons Crowned National Champion on Day One of NCAA Championship Meet

Malcolm Clemons concludes his sterling career by taking his first NCAA title in the Long Jump.

EUGENE, Ore. -
The Florida Gators competed in the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday. Day one of Men's competition saw the Gators climb to second place in the team standings with 18 team points, courtesy of a runner-up finish in the Javelin Throw and an individual championship-winning effort in the Long Jump.

Highlights
Jumps
For the first time in his career, and in his final collegiate competition, Malcolm Clemons is the national champion of the Men's Long Jump. The redshirt senior concludes his illustrious Gator career as an Olympian, five-time All-American, and now a national champion.

Clemons took to the runway on Wednesday afternoon and immediately set the tone for the competition. His first jump of 8.04m [26' 4.5"], a season best of over five inches, vaulted him into an early lead.

Throughout the next two hours of the nerve-wracking field series, not one of Clemons' 23 opponents could match his mark. He watched on as Oklahoma State's Blair Anderson came up short on his sixth attempt, securing his title, and stepped onto the runway for the final time as a collegian.

His final sprint toward the board, for the first time, was a victory lap.

He ran straight through the pit and stayed upright, continuing his run past the end of the sand. He raised his arms to acknowledge the crowd at Hayward Field, and ran to the embrace of Florida's Associate Head Coach, Nic Petersen.

The outdoor Long Jump title is the first for Florida's men since KeAndre Bates took the crown in 2017. It is the fourth such title in program history.

Throws
Leikel Cabrera Gay, in his first crack at an NCAA Championship meet, took second place in the Javelin Throw. The native of Havana, Cuba broke out for an exceptional 79.05m [259' 4"] throw on his third attempt, setting a new personal best of nearly four feet.

His lifetime-best effort was enough to secure his runner-up finish, and remained his best mark through his final three throws. The Sophomore entered competition ranked eighth in the field, and ultimately finished second only to Miami's Devoux Deysel, who entered the competition as the collegiate leader.

Cabrera Gay was the only underclassman to finish within the top-ten in the Javelin field.

The second-place finish makes Cabrera Gay just the third Gator in history to finish top-two in the Javelin at the NCAA Championships, and is the first such finisher in over 30 years, as he joins Derek Trafas' (2nd, 1993 and 1994) and Scott Dykehouse (1st, 1977).

Relays
The Gators 4x400m Relay team qualified by time for the event final, taking third in their heat and eighth in the field with a 3:03.69 time.

Up Next
Florida's women will open NCAA competition on Thursday, sporting eight total entries on day two.

The meet will be available to stream on ESPN+ and the evening running events will be broadcast on ESPN. Individual streams of each field event will be available to stream on ESPN+. 4.Green Crack Bites- Pear flavor meets 25mg of Delta 9 THC live Rosin and our premium, hemp-derived gummy. Why Live Rosin? Live Rosin captures the entire spectrum of healing from the hemp flower and concentrates it into a healthier, solventless package that is about as close to nature as you can get. Not only have we infused this gummy with 25mg of hemp derived delta 9, but we have NOT added any artificial colors, flavors, or sugars. We believe that these products are medicine and as such, they should be as clean and healthy as possible. As always, Rogue has made sure to third party lab test these gummies so you can be sure they are free of artificial dyes, sugars, and flavors, as well as being vegan and gluten free.

5.Slap Yo Mama 275mg Delta 8 THC Gummies- By far the most powerful gummy we produce. These peach flavored Delta 8 THC gummies are for people who suffer with extreme pain and work well for people with insomnia. They also contain chamomile and vitamin B6. THC is absorbed in the stomach and then enters the bloodstream. All Rogue gummies are also vegan and gluten free. Edibles often take 60-90 minutes to begin functioning. However, once the feelings kick in, they are believed to last up to six hours, significantly longer than any other forms of Delta 8 THC. The fundamental appeal of gummies is the endurance and strength of the effects.

6.Honey Orange Blossom Full Spectrum CBD Gummies- Give you access to all the plant has to offer and is what gives them a leg up on other gummies. These organic gummies have the ability to provide users with an entourage effect, which means that all the cannabinoids blend together to produce a symphony of healing. These honeyed orange blossom, naturally flavored, pectin squares are powerful CBD full spectrum gummies and are the perfect addition to your bedtime routine. One or two of these before bed and your aches and pains will melt away as you sink into your bed and into a deep, refreshing sleep. These are best for night time use.

7. 1000mg / 2000mg Delta 8 THC Tincture- Tinctures give you the ability to be exact with your dosing, with a convenient dropper bottle that makes each serving easy. With our Delta 8 THC tinctures, we’re working with the highest-quality, crystal clear delta 8 distillate that comes in at a 94 percent purity level. With that being said, if gummies are too inconsistent for you, give our tincture a try, so that you can really dial in your dosing and get your heal on.

We offer our delta 8 tincture with hemp-derived terpenes, as well as a 1/1 CBG Isolate/Delta 8 THC 2000mg tincture option. Our tincture formula comes in a wide variety of absolutely tantalizing flavor options. Just a single dropper of tincture is enough to give you the potent effects of this psychoactive compound, delivering sweet relaxation and euphoria for hours at a time.

8. 1000mg Broad Spectrum CBD Pet Tincture- With all the benefits of CBD, you can show your pet a little more love. Flavored with all-natural bacon flavor, every drop of our CBD Dog Tinctures is produced with a combination exclusively for your four-legged companion.

Our formula may help pets cope with stress, relieve joint and muscular pain, and improve their sleep and attitude. Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial to the skin, fur, heart, and hormones. Excellent for older pets, post-surgical recuperation, and daily health maintenance as an alternative to prescription drugs after consulting with a veterinarian.

9. Delta 8 THC / Delta 9 THC Gummy Sample Packs- Rogue Shop has a lot of delicious, hemp derived Delta 8 THC and Delta 9 THC options. Maybe you’ve been wanting to try something new, but don’t want to commit to anything huge. Then the Rogue Shop’s Sample Pack is for you! We picked out five of our favorite Delta 8 THC / Delta 9 THC gummies and sealed them up all snug in our compostable bags. This pack should definitely help you find what you are looking for!

10. THCA Flower Smalls- If you are looking for a big bud experience on a small bud budget, look no further and check these indoor hydro smalls. THCA, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is the precursor to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the psychoactive compound found in cannabis. In its raw form, cannabis produces THCA rather than THC. THCA is non-intoxicating, meaning it doesn’t produce the typical “high” associated with THC.

BUT! And this is a big BUT, when cannabis is heated through processes like smoking, vaping, or cooking (a process known as decarboxylation), THCA is converted into Delta 9 THC. This activation step removes a carboxyl group from THCA, turning it into the psychoactive THC. This is why smoking or cooking cannabis is necessary for experiencing its psychoactive effects.

THC is known for its psychoactive properties and is responsible for many of the characteristic effects of cannabis, including euphoria, relaxation, altered perception of time, and increased appetite. It also has therapeutic properties, and pharmaceuticals containing THC are sometimes prescribed for medical purposes, such as managing pain or nausea.

11. 50mg Delta 8 THC gummies- THC gummies are extremely popular. They provide healing and relaxation effects that will help you sleep through the night. Allowing your body the proper rest promotes healing and peace of mind. Delta 8 THC edibles often take 60-90 minutes to begin functioning. However, once the feelings kick in, they are believed to last up to six hours — significantly longer than any other form of Delta 8 THC. The fundamental appeal of gummies is the endurance and strength of the effects. They also have an incredible flavor. All Rogue Shop Delta 8 THC gummies are all-naturally flavored and gluten free.

12. 45mg Delta 9 THC Mega Gummies- These Delta 9 THC gummies are a HUGE way to get some relaxation in! Our hemp derived delta 9 THC gummies are massive so we could pack them chock full with 45mg of Delta 9 THC. Not recommended for beginners, these one of a kind edibles are completely federally legal since they are derived from hemp plants, not marijuana, but that doesn’t mean you will feel any less canna-bliss because these mega pyramids really pack a punch. If you are tired of eating multiple lower dosed D9 gummies and ready for a true treat that will help you reach nirvana that much faster, let these Strawberry Rhubarb and Blue Raspberry Mega gummies give you a run for your money! These are best for use when you don’t have ANYTHING else that needs to be done.

13. 125mg HHC / CBN Gummies- Our HHC Gummies, short for hexahydrocannabinol, and at roughly 80% potency of traditional Delta 9 THC, these gummies are even stronger than our amazing Delta 8 THC 125mg gummies and are bound to bring back some memories of your college days. Our HHC is born from hemp and known by most to create a more euphoric and elevated state than the more sedative isomers like D8 and D9. These are a great choice for a lazy weekend where restoration is on the schedule, but a certain level of functionality is still required. All-natural grape flavor and always gluten free.

14. Full Spectrum CBD Tincture- Our full-spectrum, high-powered hemp tinctures are created from the oils of organically grown hemp, and then immersed in MCT oil (derived from coconuts) and drizzled in the natural flavoring of your choice. “Full-spectrum” means that our tinctures are bursting with all of the cannabinoid goodness the hemp plant has to offer, along with every terpene, flavonoid, and nutrient in the plant to deliver the entourage effect for max results and effectiveness. Cannabidiol (CBD) may be useful in managing anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and even recovery from sports-related exertion. Of course, we only harvest the finest hemp possible, which starts with organic, pesticide-free crops. Our hemp extract is lab-tested to make sure that its purity and quality levels are beyond exceptional. Choose between a variety of irresistible all-natural sugar free flavors and enjoy placing a dropper of this tincture below your tongue for nice n’ easy absorption as part of a simple yet effective daily routine.

15. 1000mg Delta 8 THC Totally Baked Brownie Kit- Rogue Shop’s “Totally Baked” brownie kit has everything you need to make the perfect infused edible. Team Rogue tasted A LOT of brownies before they arrived at the perfect recipe and potency and then we packaged it up for you to approve. Our kit comes with brownie mix, infused oil, and even the pan! All you need to add is water and an egg and you will be the life of the party! Or maybe you want to keep them all for yourself….we will never tell!

Why our kit?

Rogue Shop’s gluten free brownie mix is packaged in a certified facility and then our kits are assembled by hand and lab tested for potency and safety. You COULD make your own, but you can’t be sure how much you are getting that way, so play it safe and let Rogue do the heavy lifting.

10 Deadliest Animals in the Sunshine State

I found a nice article for all Florida residents; I thought I would share it, discussing the ten deadliest animals in the state.

1. Bull Shark
Lurking in those warm, tropical waters is one of the ocean's deadliest predators, the bull shark. The bull shark is considered aggressive, territorial, and extremely dangerous. Unfortunately, encounters with humans are pretty common in Florida's waters, and these sharks are responsible for a large number of unprovoked attacks.

2. Alligators
We all joke that alligators are so common that they are like squirrels in Florida. However, their commonality does not diminish their danger. An alligator has mighty jaws and is capable of inflicting serious injury and death on humans. AZ Animals shares that "it is estimated that Florida's alligator population stands at about 1.3 million." That's a lot of gators!

3. Cottonmouth Snake
When it comes to snakes, the cottonmouth is one of the deadliest. This semi-aquatic pit viper is highly dangerous due to their venomous bite. Outdoor Alabama shares that its venom is "hemotoxic," meaning that "the venom breaks down and destroys blood cells and other tissues and reduces the ability of blood to coagulate or clot."

4. Burmese Python
Although they are not native to Florida, this does not mean they are not present in the Sunshine State. Additionally, they rank among the deadliest animals in the state of Florida. While they are not venomous, they could still easily kill you. Pythons are constrictors, meaning they wrap themselves around their prey and squeeze until the prey can no longer breathe. Then, they release them and swallow their prey whole.

5. Florida Panther
Ironically, this animal makes it onto Florida's list of deadliest animals, but we pose a threat to them as well. While the panther is easily capable of shredding you with their sharp teeth and claws, they are considered an endangered species. Many die due to automobile accidents. At the same time, most attacks on people occur only when people trespass into the panther's habitat.

6. Great White Sharks
Keeping the ball rolling here, bull sharks are not the only deadly fish that reside in Florida's water. The great white also calls the warm coastal waters its home. The movie Jaws did a good enough job explaining to you how and why these sharks can pose a threat to humans.

7. Pygmy Rattlesnake
Unsurprisingly, we have another snake on the list of deadliest animals in Florida. And here I thought all you had to worry about were sharks and alligators. Although their venom is not as potent as some other snakes, it is still enough to cause you harm, particularly in the case of children and pets.

8. Lionfish
The more sea creatures that I add to this list, the less likely I am to go into the ocean. This invasive species was introduced to Florida waters and now poses a threat to anyone who comes into contact with its venomous spines. Those spines can cause intense pain, nausea, and even severe allergic reactions in those who are stung.

9. Florida Black Bear
While black bears may look cute and cuddly, they are pretty dangerous. Although not as big as a grizzly, they are still fully capable of injuring and even killing humans who get too close to them. Between their sharp claws and powerful jaws, a human would not stand a chance.

10. Box Jellyfish
Finally, last but not least on our list of deadliest animals in Florida, we have the box jellyfish. World Atlas reports that in Florida, the box jellyfish "kills more people than sharks." They are not only deadly in Florida but are also one of the deadliest creatures across the ocean. Their tentacles are full of stings that inject venom that can stop your heart if stung. Some victims never even make it back to shore after being stung.

Football Very optimistic and excited for the upcoming season.

I woke up this morning feeling very optimistic and excited for the upcoming season. Maybe too optimistic lol but anyways here’s why:

For the first time in a very long time I feel like Florida’s offense can now hurt an opposing defense with the run game and with the passing game.

I’m 32 years old and I truly believe this could potentially be the best/deepest RB room in my lifetime. That doesn’t mean I’m saying any of these RB’s will be better than Fred Taylor, but overall I believe this could be the best RB room Florida has had in a very long time. Which will also mean we can potentially have the best/deepest RB room in the SEC and probably the nation. When Webb and Daniels are your 3rd and 4th RB on the depth chart, that’s scary. Hell I would be thrilled if they were our top 2 RB’s on the team. We know a strong running game can wear down an opposing defense.

Then that’s when they make the mistake of putting a safety in the box, leaving more 1 on 1 opportunities on the outside for our very talented and fast WR’s. Imagine having to leave a DB on an island to try and cover WR’s such as Sturdivant, Eugene Wilson, Mizell, and Dallas Wilson.. Oh and the best deep ball thrower in the nation is passing them the ball, standing in the pocket behind an OL that is returning 4 starters, including the best center in the nation. Good luck trying to stop that.

TE room isn’t great, but it can be solid.

The defense showed a lot of promise towards the end of the season even with all the injuries they had, especially in the secondary. This defense isn’t as deep and as talented as the 2006 and 2008 National Championship teams but they still have a chance to be pretty damn good.

I really like our Edge/Jack room. Banks could potentially not only be a 1st rounder, but he can be the best DT in the nation and a future top 10 pick.

I absolutely love our LB room. Could be the best LB room Florida has had since 2016 when Jarrad Davis and Alex Anzalone were rocking heads. A little light on numbers at that position but a very talented group. A top 4 of Howard, Robinson, Graham, and Chiles has a chance to be one of the best LB rooms in the SEC.

Like I mentioned earlier, there were a lot of injuries in the secondary, but that allowed a lot of DB’s to get valuable playing experience last season which could end up playing dividends. This probably won’t be an elite secondary but it can be good if they can stay healthy. There’s 13 former blue chip DB’s in Florida’s secondary.

Trey Smack is good kicker, not sure how good the punter Tommy Doman will be.

I still have my concerns about Napier as a play caller and as a game day coach but we did finish the season strong last year. Napier does have an elite running scheme though and I do give him credit for that. The health of Lagway gives me some worry too.

I would like to see everyone’s else’s thoughts for this upcoming season. Where am I wrong? Am I too optimistic?

New Story Baker: Settlement helps NCAA stabilize, avoid 'bankruptcy'

ORLANDO, Fla. -- NCAA president Charlie Baker told hundreds of collegiate athletics administrators during a keynote address Tuesday that the recent multibillion-dollar House settlement approval creates "a far better future" for the organization, one that "comes with choices, instead of bankruptcy."

In front of a standing-room-only crowd, Baker told the assembled group, "No one in this room needs to hear me say that this is one of the biggest changes ever in college sports. I hope you also understand that it's a far better future than virtually every other alternative that could have been in front of us.

Done Deal With China

President Trump has worked out a deal with China and it appears they will become a valuable trading partner. Some parts of the bill may conflict with Florida's stance on China but the Federal government may prevail. I am not sure about the legal issues.

President Trump agrees to Chinese students attending our universities and colleges and says he has always been in favor of that. I am not sure how this deal treats the purchase of land by the Chinese. I guess we will find out in the details.

Baseball Top 100 MLB Draft Prospect RHP Aaron Watson talks about his flip to Florida

Top 100 MLB Draft Prospect RHP Aaron Watson talks about his flip to Florida
Hector

The Florida Gators and their coaching staff made a huge late addition to the 2025 recruiting class. Blue-chip right-handed pitching prospect Aaron Watson announced last weekend that he had flipped his commitment to the Florida Gators.

Watson was previously committed to the Virginia Cavaliers, but with a coaching change, Watson put himself back on the market and quickly committed to Florida. “It was definitely a different feeling than the first time I was recruited,” Watson said about his late decommitment. “I had some big time programs who were interested, and it felt surreal to have big time schools come after me.”

Aaron Watson is a 6’5”, 205-pound right-handed pitcher out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. Watson is one of the top pitching prospects in the Class of 2025. On Perfect Game, Watson is the 25th-ranked prospect and the third-ranked right-handed pitching prospect in the nation. He’s also the top-ranked 2025 prospect out of the Sunshine State.

When Watson reopened his recruitment, he was heavily pursued by some elite college baseball programs. “Mississippi State was the school I had the best connections with because of Coach [Brian] O’Connor,” Watson said. Brian O’Connor was previously Virginia’s head coach but left for the Mississippi State head coach opening.

The Sunshine State native was also being recruited by Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Vanderbilt. When the Gators got involved in his recruitment, Watson immediately knew he wanted to commit to the Gators. “Honestly, Florida has always had a special place in my heart,” Watson said. “My family and I talked it over and knew that’s where I wanted to be.”

Watson also mentioned that he had reached out to Kevin O’Sullivan and Chuck Jeroloman about wanting to commit to the Gators. “I knew in my heart it was always the Gators,” Watson said about committing to Florida.

Even with Watson committed to the Gators, there’s no guarantee that he’ll make it to campus. Watson is one of the top prep pitching prospects in the 2025 MLB Draft. On. MLB Pipeline, Watson is the 42nd-ranked draft prospect. He’s also the 64th-ranked draft prospect on Baseball America.

With Watson’s recruitment shut down, he’s preparing himself for the 2025 MLB Draft. “I have been getting my mind right and preparing myself mentally,” Watson said about his preparation for the MLB Draft. “I can’t believe that I possibly have the opportunity to play professional baseball next year.”
If Watson goes undrafted or honors his commitment to Florida, he could make an immediate impact for the Gators in the 2026 season. He’ll also be another family member to attend the University of Florida. “It’s awesome to have two of my brothers attend UF, and my dad graduated from the university,” Watson added. “It meant a lot not only for me but for my family as well to commit to the Gators.”
