Lamical Perine and Jordan Scarlett each had 700+ rushing yards on the year and Florida logged 8 200+ rushing attack games, matching its combined total from 2015-2017 and tying the 2009 Gators for the 2nd-highest number of times it hit that mark in a season since the start of 1996. Florida had the program's 4th-highest season rushing yardage total since the start of 1990 with 2,514.

So, come on up here Trey, with Gator RB's consistently leaving early for the NFL, there's always room for another top quality RB at UF.

With that for a roster, coming off a 4-7 season, in Dan's 1st year....

Gainesville (Fla.) 2019 QB-p Luke Matthews, son of former Gators QB Shane Matthews, will join the Florida team as a P-WO.

According to his MaxPreps profile, Matthews completed 196 out of 281 passes (69.8%) on the season for 2639 yards and 22 TD's, 11 Int's.

#15 DEw Lloyd Summerall 6-5 220 is a strong UF lean, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is expected to choose between Florida and Miami and sign on ESD The Gators have received a bevy of 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions over the last few days. Since Dec. 9, seven predictions have been made in Florida’s favor. That now gives the Gators a decided edge in the 247Sports Crystal Ball at 94%.

In the recent Class 7A FL state championship game, Summerall turned in a sparkling performance. He made 7 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in a 33-20 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

Summerall plans to announce a decision alongside Top 247 TE Keon Zipperer, who is also a 4-star prospect out of Lakeland High School,on. Dec. 19 in front of family and friends.“We’re a package deal," Summerall said with a grin."

Florida landed a big commitment from ESPN 300 #18 OT Michael Tarquin on Monday. Tarquin flipped his commitment from Miami and was the 2ne prospect to switch from Miami to Florida in as many days, joining #7 OC Kingsley Eguakun. The Gators now have 7 ESPN 300 commitments in the 2019 class.

Earlier this week, five-star cornerback Chris Steele released a list of the final five schools in his recruitment. Unsurprisingly, the former USC pledge included the Trojans, along with Florida, Choke-la-homo, Oregon, and South Carolina.

A day after he tweeted out his finalists, the Gators sent a couple of coaches to Bellflower (Calif.) to conduct an in-home visit with Steele. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and safeties coach Ron English represented Florida in their last face-to-face meeting with the Rivals100 prospect.

While speaking to GatorsTerritory, Steele, who will be signing on Dec. 19, broke down his time with the two UF assistants and gave the visit a perfect 10 rating.
